MORE FANTASY!
The Power of Fantasy:
Materializing Objects
Fantasizing is another form of active visualization only the emotional connection is stronger. Because emotions are more intense with fantasy you can create an even quicker materialization of what you want. I keep a silver box inside my front door where I place wish notes. For example, if I’m going on a yard sale scavenger hunt I’ll write down what I want to find as I walk out the door and take a moment to fantasize about it as if I’ve already found it. I inwardly celebrate that I’ve inexpensively found what I want, and leave home full of anticipation.
When I needed a deck table with chairs and couldn’t afford the price of a new set I wrote myself a ‘fantasy note’ before heading to the yard sales. I wrote, “Deck table and chairs cheap, like a gift. Free delivery!” I stood in the doorway believing that they were already out on my deck. I ‘knew’ they were there, and drove off down the sunny street excited because today was the day I’d bring home deck furniture. The first sale was interesting but didn’t have what I was looking for. As I drove to the second one I’d circled in the classifieds I turned down a side road hoping for a short cut to the neighborhood it was in. Just as I turned the corner I saw a man struggling with a ‘For Sale’ sign in the dirt of his front yard where he’d placed a White deck table and four chairs. I slammed the brakes on and yelled out the window, “How much” and with a slight pause he said, “Twenty-five dollars.”
“I’ll take it!” I said. Then as an afterthought I realized that I couldn’t fit the set in my small Toyota. “I don’t have a way to get them home” When he heard I lived less than a mile away he offered his truck and moved the set to my deck himself. For twenty five bucks I had my deck furniture delivered to my home. ‘Like a gift”, just as I’d asked for and placed inside my silver wish box.
