Mom- Share

My daughter & her boyfriend saved a limpy duck this summer while exploring around the lake. They drove it to the campus animal school where wild life is always welcome. She's been doing this since she was little, my daughter and her animal rescues.
Once at age five years old, she spied a snowy owl which had a broken wing. The owl was caught and saved by her and then handed over to my aunt, who nursed it back to health.
This owl lives now in a natural habiitat at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky because it was never well enough to be released back to wild. She has saved many birds, especially babies lost from their nest and caught by cats.
My daughter hasn't eaten meat, by choice, since the age of five years old. It was when she realized that animals she loved to love were being eaten that she decided she'd not ingest them. Because of this, she knows alot about nutrition and alternative healthy vegetarian lifestyles.
Her personality has led her to a place where she wants to study science and maybe even medicine when she goes to college in '08.
My son is still 12 years old and he homeschools. This has turned out to be the most rewarding decision I could make for us!
The parent-social network of homeschoolers around here is wonderful. There are co ops that we participate in that spiritually & emotionally feed our life!
He's different than his sister in so many ways. He's meat & potatoes, a computer Geek who loves music, cats, adventurous travel, and to bake.
Yes, bake & cook . . . food creations.
They're both passionate about animals and Harry Potter ways-
It's a joy to nurture things they each love to do!
I'm thinking about my kids today as they return back to school this time of year. I've loved raising these wonderful people. It's been my greatest honer.
Thought I'd share :-)
