I have another week of packing and preparing for this move to Oregon and our big trip west. It's going to be exciting and scary! This morning we're about to drive back to Michigan from our beloved KY . . . and this past week has been eventful. We brought our trampoline down for cousins to enjoy and carried with us all the things my daughter will need for her dorm move once she begins Berea College. She attended a full day of orientation and during this time my roommate from Berea College (and her beautiful daughter) came for lunch with me and then we snuck into my daughter's orientation to see what she was hearing. This sweet baby face photo is of my dear friend Jason and his wife Naomi's new Irish child-Fin. He was in the backyard as we built the trampoline. My friend from highschool arrived to help us with it, too. It was a reunion sort of. I ran into my very best friend from high school while having lunch with my roommate from college. Wow. The rest of this time I enjoyed some quality time with good friends Sue and John and their children. Here is a photo of Sue's herbs in the garden off her deck:

Last night I went to a summer solstice music festival and enjoyed some unique sounds by my friend Mitch Barrett and another band which created synthsizor beats and sonic music using apple laptops! This morning we're packing up to drive back to MI where my Great Aunt is turning 90 years old . . .

 

. . . and our family is gathering for a birthday reunion. During this week we'll get our three kitties checked out and fly them to Portland, the movers will come  . . . also when we are gathered together as a big extended family- it will be packing time for me! So by July, my kids, one first cousin, our dog and a u-haul tailer, will push off on a 4000 mile road trip journey . . . going the loooong way to Oregon.
