The Adventure Begins
. . . The movers were supposed to come on Sunday and we all were scheduled to leave on July 1st, but they have delayed now until Thursday!! I finally had to leave the management of movers to my friend and we left today. Right before we left I got new tires, new brake pads and a cooler cover for the transmission. In New Buffalo, MI- on our first day of this big 18 day trip- the bolts on the rear left tire loosened, busted and made everything flop around. So here we are in an expensive motel with our car in the shop and and we must cancel our reservations for the nebraska camp site now. Onward to Denver we go! This morning I almost hit a baby deer, a spotted fawn. But it ran across the busy road and lived. My cousin who is traveling with us is from Buffalo, NY and we are now delayed in New Buffalo. The woman from triple A who answered the phone and got me a tow truck- her name was fawn. Very odd day. I am going to see Craig and my tire almost popped off . . .and when we first met- on his way to me years ago, his tire popped off. Just an odd first day to our adventure! The man who towed our u haul for safety over night was kind enough to take us to the auto place and to our motel and check if they took pets. The auto place will bring us our car in the morning. We will drive by the beautiful lake MI beach in the morning before moving on. It isn't going as planned but the people are kind and we would have driven right into a huge storm which seems to be coming toward us from Chicago which was where we were headed through. Pray for abundance so we can afford this trip. Love . . .fawn
