To Be Free
Much time is spent in life looking for a sign about what to do next.
The job is getting old and change of environment would be sooo good if not for mortgage and bills. Even if the home COULD be sold in this economy, where on earth would be a great place to live and work?
How much more TIME until the 'ship comes in', the dreams come true and things begin to feel RIGHT?
What about insurance and retirement. What about the commitments and kids!
Feeling trapped? Sound familiar?
My dear friend's husband came home last month and announced to her and the three children that he had put in a three week notice at work. He held a $70,000 dollar/year job and they'd just bought a dream home. She'd just ordered an Amish barn to be delivered to her backyard to double as a studio where she could teach yoga. Suddenly they were faced with losing it all!
He told her he wanted to finally move to the places on their list they'd always talked about during the youth of their relationship. He didn't want to wait for them to grow old and unhappy, stressed and sad before a real change was forced on them. He wanted to do it NOW.
So he interviewed for a job far away in a place they'd dreamed of living. I can tell she's scared, but she says to me "I love change!".
I'm watching this family to see how it goes. I'm a little envious, too. It feels so great to be free.
Obviously it's an attitude and a choice. It's decision and courage . . .
