WITCHES & NURSES

I BELIEVE MANY NURSES ARE REBORN WITCHES (smile) Yep I do. Mmmm. I love coffee. I sit here and write my morning blog page and enjoy spring sunshine, early flowers and birds. It's about time!!!

Every spiritual circle I've entered, be they work shops or classes, there appear to be at least 1-3 nurses among us, out of about 6-8 people.  In other words, I've gathered in my own calculation that about 2 out of very 6 folks in our circles are nurses!

Over and over I meet nurses who practice as spiritual healers and shamanic practioners.

I'm beginning to believe that many nurses nowdays, are reborn from the ancient and recent historical days from when we were witches- burned and tortured for being healers and helpers.

Those women (and men!) who dedicated their time birthing babies and soothing pain with herbal and plant medicine & with prayer and energy medicine, they were killed for being misunderstood.

For going against the grain of religion with a capital R involving strict patriarchal dogma. For being 'Pagan' and treating the earth as 'our mother'.

"Who were the witches and where did they come from, maybe your great great great grandmother was one, witches were wise wise women they say, and there's a little witch in every woman today." (Excerpt from the midwives of Colorado recordings).

The fear of Goddess Power destroyed the lives of millions of good women across Europe and in the new Americas. But their souls survived and returned as healers and strong, intelligent care takers . . . and it is my belief that many of these souls are now modern day nurses.

Lately I've been studying for a  new nurse certification which will allow me to transform my current nursing career and bring it to a new level. I'm so excited about this schooling and what's next.

I have some 'haunted house fatigue' lately, but am still very focused on helping these people and their honme. We're working toward healing this situation and to 'bring light' again!

I'm in awe of the amazing women and men who are so dedicated to serving this mission. I'm learning more about my fears and blocks. It's an 'inner work out' this month for me!

So today, over coffee, my metaphysical musings focus on witches and where they are now on this earth. I believe that many of them have been reborn as healers in a conventional sense. That many of them are what we now experience as modern day nurses.

Now I work in the hospital setting on a medical surgical floor, and we have very strict medicinal guidelines for care. This in no way discounts the incredible spiritual and energetic healing which goes on behind the scenes with and by many of the nurses who work with sick people on a daily basis there.

Many of us are studying natural health and Reiki. We belong to circles of healers and light workers. We pray for our clients. We protect and serve as advocates for them. We have learned to survive and make a difference, and the truth never died with the witches of old.

Time for a refill.

Light Always,

Fawn

Let's see. A nurse was the first person to tell me that there "are no coincidences" and taught me about energy. Another nurse gave me my first tarot reading, shamanic journey and soul retrieval. A third has taught me about holistic medicine (herbs and such). Another nurse gives me acupuncture the owner of the creepy haunted house we all love to discuss is a nurse. Maybe you are on to something. HMMMMM!!!!

It makes sense to know that the present healers are healers of past lives, no matter what name they be called. It would be great to have a lansing meeting place for nurse witches and healers. Lets consider this shall we. As a vetern nurse and metaphysical student i believe we need to keep the connection-more so now than ever. The shift is near and the magnetic poles will deepen our senses and we will be more prepared than those who scoff at the energies within and without that we rule(it does not rule us). When we are aware of our powers, we as a group transcend all others. Lets be prepared. bless you all.

Thanks for saying what I have thought! I have said that in the past I must have been a witch because everything I do metaphysically comes so naturally. Also I hate heights and do not like anything heavier than a necklace around my neck...uhmmm......go figure...

I am a male, a Traditional Witch (not Wiccan), and I am also a nurse!!!! Imaine that. I agree with you 100%. However, I love heights, though I do wear a light wieght stainless chain with a small pentacle (which of course is silver).

I am also a nurse, and would love to find ways to bring my faith into my practice.  Anyone have a good idea?  I've always used herbal remedies and "laying on of hands" but would love to find others of like mind to continue my studies.  I agree, I think all healers were once witches.
