Wildwing Lake

The smaller Michigan lakes are still frozen and folks can get in that last bit of ice fishing. But the birds know spring has sprung! My son and I took a walk around Wildwing Lake and here are some photos:

Look! These birds lit on our hands for black sunflower seeds :-)

A very UNshy crane walked by us on the path and here is a yoga pose he shared -

We explored the frozen lake and those white specks are nesting swans . . .  the trees hold dozens of heron nests!

See the large nests in the branches?

We had a magical bird walk yesterday

I wanted to share . . .

. . . a joyful spring experience

at Wildwing

Dear Fawn:

How wonderful of you to share with us.  These are great photo's and just beautiful terrain.  I want to get my son busy this spring to take some of the pictures of the forested areas here and at Plum Orchard lake near us.  We have gorgeous areas where the birds gather also.  A lot of crane's, canadian geese, ducks and other water birds converge on the lake in spring.

Thanks for sharing these with us.
