Learning how to control, Not being in control!
Many times as adults we find ourselves wanting full control of a situation. Whether it be our work, finances, weight, friendships, family, parenting and love, we want full control of us, them and what happens.
The truth is we have to learn to control wanting to be in control. Sometimes we have to do our part and then let fate take the wheel. We have to allow other people to be in charge of their own lives and their own choices, whether it works in our favor or not. If someone if falling short of what you expect them to be, but yet they are content, then it is you that must decide to accept them as they are or not. But don't try to change them or manipulate the situation to be how you think it should be.
In order to get peace and harmony back in your life, you must learn to control yourself.. you and you alone. You must learn to react to things according to how you feel you should and stop trying to change it.
Life is short and in the words of Mark Twain we have to remember this:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that
you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
