Airing Antiques of Negative Energy

Before you bring an antique into your home, do you trustingly believe that its electrical energy will compliment your home just because it looks good?  The spiritual rule is to air antiques for two weeks in a protective area, outside of the home, before mingling another persons negative memories into your Safe Haven.

CHOOSING ANTIQUE CHAIRS BY THEIR ENERGY

The antique store owner looked at me like I was crazy.    I needed a chair, but refused to buy one unless the energy of the chair felt happy and positive.  I sat in a 1920’s Morris chair with tapestry fabric in olive, gold and rose.  In perfect condition, I sat in it.  Closing my eyes, I immediately saw the vision of a fat happy man full of laughter.   I liked that!

But over there was an oak rocking chair with beautiful scroll wood working.   I loved it!  Sitting in the rocker I closed my eyes.  I saw an older woman crying.   A pompous man in a suit paced before her, yelling.  She had seen many days like that.  My eyes popped open.   Back and forth, for one hour, I sat in the two chairs just to be sure.   Like reading tarot cards, I kept my mind blank.   I did not want to mentally feed into a preconceived vision .  The clerk watched me with confusion.

“Energy” I explained, and winked.  She did not catch my drift at all.

I decided on the 1920’s Morris chair.  If anyone was coming into my home to contribute energy, it would be the fat laughing man.   Even before I brought the chair into my home, I aired it 2 weeks in my garage. There is a general rule by spiritualists that any piece you enter into your home, contributes memories of its past owner.

THE TALKING ANTIQUE CLOTHING

I have an old hour glass shaped metal mannequin dress form.  I have been known to dress her with antique clothing and stand her before my reading tents for effect.   People that know this about me will let me know if an antique store has a spectacular antique evening dress for sale.

In the same antique store that I bought my Morris chair, I asked the clerk if by chance she was selling any silk  or velvet retro dresses.

“Well yes I am!” she exclaimed cheerfully.

.

I followed her to a locked office where she kept old boxes of treasures.  From their contents she pulled out silk dresses, thin and webbed with age, but stunning.  What struck me most was how tall its owner must have been!   The clerk smiled and said, yes, the clothing had come from a mansion where a 6 ft woman lived.  Hats, bustled dresses, purses, and rabbit fur muffs were placed in my hands for inspection.  The price was  too expensive for me.  Sadly I drove home.

To my surprise, after church one Sunday, {where she played great Bach style organ in antique hats} she walked up to me.

“I have something for you.   Follow me to my car.” she said mysteriously.

From the trunk she pulled two large trash bags.   “I decided those old dresses would be better with you.”    I thanked her over and over and drove home with my treasures.  Placing the two bags against the living room wall, {with out remembering the RULE} I decided to go through them later, when my hubby was on the road.  Alone that evening I would savor their beauty.

As I worked in my back office, my Retriever and Husky dogs at my feet, their ears suddenly perked up.  As if being called, they ran to the living room.  A little unnerved, I called them back.   Once again they sat at my feet.

Within minutes their ears perked up, and as if being called, they ran to the living room.   This time I followed.  The two dogs stood, heads tilted, ears cocked forward, in front of the 2 trash bags of antique dresses.

That was enough!   I quickly walked the two bags of 1920’s evening dresses and hats to the adjoining garage.  I was not prepared, alone, for talking antique clothing.

“SHOT 9 TIMES AS SHE WRESTLED WITH HER CAPTOR!” screamed the head lines in the paper the next day.  It had happened in the same lavender Victorian mansion the clothing had come from!  Was the energy of the 6 ft clothing’s owner warning me as the murder was happening?   And why had the clothing been delivered to me exactly the day before the murder?   Why were the dogs running to the clothing and hearing things I could not?   It proved to me, quite clearly, that the energy of items we bring in to our home, become an active part of our Safe Haven.

Dear Ophelia:
I can so relate to this story as I have an antique trunk that I purchased that brought me two souls that have remained for many years.  They are sisters and refuse to cross over for they are so afraid their abusive Father will be there.  They promise to cross when I do but I fear for them and have tried many times to assist and reassure them about crossing over.  They are quite happy together and they have been seen by my family a great many times.  I have usually been successful with helping earth bound spirits to cross over but my dear ladies are just not ready as yet.  They remain with the trunk which was the one last possession they had when they were evicted from their home in England.
Thanks for sharing with us

Great blog post -- my highly sensitive grandmother made the same extremely careful assessments with antiques!!!

The ones in my family home all had good vibes because of my grandmother's hand in their choice, and I grew up around "happy" antiques.

But in the present day, I myself am so sensitive to energy from antique items of friends or in other places, that I actually cannot bear to be around any! There is so much going on in them that I find myself needing to avoid them, even when so beautiful -- yes I have to get somewhat "Ikea"-ish in my own space, lol!
