CHANGE? ... Are you running barefoot down a road of nails?
Are you trying to get back to the past and making things worse? Do you have a hard time letting go? Have you read all the self help books and blogs, but can't get started? Does the past, glow like a piece of chocolate cake so brightly you can’t believe the future could taste better?
SHE WONDERED WHY CHANGE SCARED HER
A client called today with a wonderful question. She wanted to know if pursuing her dream of being a celebrity, {as she was in the past,} was worth her time and effort to get back. What we read was the following:

The marketing field is filled with cold arrogance towards fading or retired performers.

One thing mattered, -. HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO SACRIFISE?

If you can stretch yourself a thousand directions at once at a moments notice, spend a lot of money for face jobs, boob lifts, liposuction and work outs, the promoter will scratch your back to give you the persona of “CHANGE”.

Begin to complain, top agent arrogance will set in and once more you are on the outside looking in.
THE PROBLEM WAS SHE WAS AFRAID OF CHANGE
It was a lot of effort to hide what she was really afraid of, “CHANGE.”
The Universe had presented three or four wonderful new opportunities. But none of them were related to her OLD DREAM. Should she slam on the brakes and back up? Or should she zoom forward on the path of least resistance, the road the Universe seemed to want her to go?
DR. PHIL
There has been a lot of talk these days about Dr. Phil and whether he is or is not a qualified licensed Dr. He was a court advisor for Oprah long ago, and helped her win the Mad Cow case with cattle raisers. Along the way, he chose to take Oprah’s offer to be a part of her show. But unless you are an icon, what comes up, must come down. Now suddenly the talk is whether Dr Phil is really a licensed Dr. or a sham. Whether he is, or is not, will not help. One single forced attempt to add points to his fading fame, back fired. Dr Phil would have done well to take new choices the Universe was offering him, instead of the road filled with nails.
BILL CLINTON
Is Bill Clinton choosing a road filled with nails to the past? The Universe had offered him the status of being a glorious retired Lion, statesman, and rock star diplomat. But the past Presidency was glowing like a piece of chocolate cake. He could not forget the taste. There is the reality the future will have nothing to do with his past, should Hillary get the Presidency. It would be inappropriate for him to stand out. Will the rock star Statesman celebrity still be available for the retired lion?
EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US HAS THE FEAR OF CHANGE
Should we jump for joy when the path to our dreams changes to something else?

Did the University Dream to excel in a specific career, fork off to a different path?

Did the love of our life change, and drop us? Did someone less intense, but more kind and compassionate come along?

Did crows’ feet appear around our eyes, and force us to face a new self image?

Did we become mothers when we weren’t ready to stop being free and single?
