Cat Gardening Tips * Your Garden of Eden
The cat is in the middle of the yard, eyes closed in some great Universal knowing…on my new flower transplants. We flow in my Garden of Eden, her walking along side me but not too close. She stays just far enough away so that a bag of Miracle Grow does not land on her. We have worked out a new gardening system. No more smashed transplants and seedlings.
SPIRITUAL CAT GARDENING TIPS
Don’t be in agony in your Garden of Eden. Instead, bury your clay or plastic pots half way up in the soil at a tilted angle. Plant your transplants or seedlings in these tilted pots. Their awkward angle will be much too uncomfortable for a meditating cat to lie on. When the flowers are well established and strong, flowing from their pot like spilt colored Kool Aid, your cat is less likely to hurt them. My cat loves to sit between the pots, as if flanked by fort walls on all sides. Another pluss is your flowers are up higher so display wonderfully.
PUT SMALL TREE STUMPS IN YOUR GARDEN
Cats will be cats and love to mark their territory by scratching with claws or bare paw pads. Place an occasional stump here and there for a natural look for their feline scratching and naps in the sunlight. This stump will take the place of your favorite plants.
A CAT NIP CARDEN JUST FOR THEM
Especially great for older cats is a little garden of Cat Nip. Place a peaceful sculpture in the middle of their Cat Nip garden or push a Sheppard’s Hook into the dirt and hang your favorite chimes. As the chimes sway and tinkle peacefully in the breeze above your Buddha Cat, you will wish you were as care free as they are. For extra consideration place a tree stump in your cats Herb Garden. As he/she basks in the sun, they will inhale the fragrance of Herbs with a peaceful napping smile.
TREES
I believe trees are old souls. They stand motionless but are in fact in constant change.
Like us they are forever replacing the cells of their bark-skin. Like us their beautiful green hair leaves grow in spurts in the spring and summer. Like us their root system courses underground like the vascular system within our own bodies. And like us, {if lucky} their life span is about 80 or 90 years old. They stand constantly observing the rhythm and flow of their environment and seasons. What secrets cats and trees must know about us humans. I wish you and your cat a wonderful summer in your Garden of Eden.
