PHONE CALLS FROM THE SPIRIT WORLD

When my step father died my mother went through hell.  Lights would pop and explode from over head in sequence, that led from kitchen to his back study.  In our family we would nervously laugh, sure that he was trying to tell us something. The phone would ring with out a voice or an ID listed.  The Tiffany lamp that he made by hand would come on by itself.  Worse, when my mother tried to sleep at night the over head bedroom light would rudely come on by itself.

Refusing to believe it was my invasive Step Fathers spirit; she yanked back the sheets and stumbled to the wall to switch the light back off.  Within minutes the overhead light would come back on again.  One night, after weeks of this intrusion my mother sat up, clapped loudly and screamed “STOP IT!”    For the rest of the night the over head light stayed off.  From then on Mom was a believer of spirit communication.

My step father was a Jewish Holocaust survivor from Berlin.  He refused to die, ever.   He was a brilliant man that felt intelligence was next to Godliness.  Life played its ultimate joke and smote him with the sword of Alzheimer’s.   After he died Mom never saw his spirit or had bad dreams about him.   He was too busy communicating through electricity.

It seemed the day she refused to think of the other world phone calls and lights that went on and off as strange, and started to talk back to the phenomena in calming and teasing answers, the energy left.   Within 6 months all activity had ceased and his feel was gone.

I feel that our precious energy lingers in the form of electricity and that all machines become tools for other world communication.  From my mothers experience I see that once we accept with grace the need for loved ones who have passed on to have these last "conversations",  we release them.

Good morning, and welcome to Psychic Phenomenon Coffee (w/fish?;) Chat, with your host, Sister Othelia.;)

Wow, your stepfather did NOT want to let go of control, even in the afterlife, eh? He wanted to go when HE said and not a minute before. Whups...we all have to surrender to the universe at some point.

I often wonder if only certain people can "see" or "hear" the phenomenon. Experiencing "paranormal" phenomenon was the catalyst that eventually brought me back from atheism to belief in a higher power, I've read a bit about it.

I now wonder how much of it was "energy residue" left from what was concentrated/expended in that area in real life before they left and how much is actual communication "from beyond."

But, let's face it, third law of thermodynamics...energy can't be created or destroyed, only transferred...it has to go somewhere.

Supposedly, I am spiritually sensitive; my daughter is especially spiritually sensitive...but all of it scares me a little, so I just pretend it's not there, it works for me? Mine is less about psychic ability and comes more in the form of "discernment" of people's character, though I generally dismiss it because there are no "facts" and I just don't trust my instincts like I should...BUT... I DID catch 7 shoplifters in a two-year period working at a cosmetics counter for a major department store...just on a hunch.  One was a much-beloved store employee that I just got a bad vibe from and made excuses about hanging out with.  I usually dismissed these, but with her, it was THAT strong.

On my maternity leave, I got a call from a coworker that said, "I thought you were crazy that you didn't seem to want to hang out with her, we all loved her...well, guess what?  You were right, she just was caught with $8000 worth of product, selling it out of the back of her car, tried to incriminate other people into it with her, but now she's going to jail...alone."

I was especially sensitive when pregnant, which is when I had the first paranormal experience I'd had since I was a child.  I was still a partial atheist, but I decided to try my luck at a prayer.  I asked God to send a message to my paternal grandmother, then turned off the light and rolled over, thinking all I did was make myself feel better by praying to imaginary ideas for comfort.

All of the sudden, the room was filled with the scent of ivory soap and rosewater perfume everywhere, the pillow, the sheets; it was overwhelming...my grandmother.:)

It was odd because if you had asked me what she smelled like right before, I couldn't have told you.

Did my subconscious produce this? Or did my (supposedly very psychic) grandmother know that this kind of thing freaked me out/made me feel cuckoo and if I had heard something or seen something, I would've promptly soiled myself; but an aroma was perfect.

Regardless of self-created phenomenon or message from beyond, instead of fear, I felt at peace, rolled over with my cat, patted my abdomen for the coming Golden Child that is my Bubby, and went to sleep.:)
