PSYCHIC PARTY READING * The Do's & Don'ts

Autumn gives new meaning and wonderful opportunity to give Psychic Readings at Harvest Moon and Halloween Parties.  Here are some do’s and don’ts I have learned:

1} Avoid the Tupperware Seller Scene.  If the Psychic Party is a free for all, you may sadly go miles to find only 3 guests.  You are selling a unique gift.  This will not refund your gas, unless the price you are charging is 1 hour each at a substantial price..

2} Ask the hostess to schedule guest appointments before hand.   This avoids the lagers from getting in before the guest clients with a busy schedule.   If they all come at once, without appointments many will leave impatient.  This can end up as bad as driving miles for only 3 clients.

3} This is your chance to glow like a jewel.  One woman I knew came to read dressed like Queen Elisabeth in pan cake white make up, her hair piled high and a wonderful rented dress from a costume shop.  Clients loved it.

4} Let guest clients know that if they miss their appointment, they must get at the back of the line.  One missed appointment will mess up everyone else’s appointment time.

6} Determine how much a basic reading will cost, adding extra for your gas.  I schedule a 15 minute session for each client. I charge extra per additional question added on.  This way the client can understand the extra price they are paying.

7} Ask your hostess to collect scheduled appointment money from guests before you get there.  On coming through the door this is the time the envelope of money should be handed to you.  It is just good business sense.  . Having paid in advance guest clients will make sure they get to their appointment on time.   You should determine the minutes for a basic reading.  If a client asks for further time, an extra amount will be charged per question.  This prevents them from going too much into another’s scheduled reading.

8} It is best to ask for a reading room away from noise and listening ears. .   Remember that some people do not want others to hear what their reading is about.

9}  I bring my own music, candles and table cloth.  There are some hosts that like to decorate a room them selves and this is great.

10} I always bring a quality microphone, a mic stand and good cassette tape recorder.   My clients love this feature and often forget details of their reading when overwhelmed..   Recording their reading assures them I have trust in my own accuracy.   Not only will some share these cassettes with good friends, {which show others how you read}…but these cassettes will draw in new customers. When my clients can listen to their cassette weeks or months later, I know they will come back for another reading.

Thanks for sharing this!

You posted this at the perfect time for me, as I have will be attending my first "party" next Saturday.

The host just called and has RSVP of at least 10 persons, who are very excited! She anticipates another 5 for certain. Each guest pays a set price to attend event.

For that they will get...

A 20-30 minute demostrations and question/answer session by myself prior to starting the actual private readings.  Each guest will get a 15 minute private reading with me...in a private area.  In the meantime, my 'event coordinator' will help keep guest occupied with various "psychic games" (at host request, of course)

I have created an inexpensive 'party pack' with some marketing information and a few freebie gifts for each guest.

Am I leaving anything out?  Forgetting anything?

This will be the first time I have conducted readings in this forum...although I am a little nervous, I LOVE people..and parties, so I think I will do okay?

Thanks again for posting this...I feel so much better reading over your list!

Blessed be!

I'M going to have a psychic party and send telepathically when and where it is just to see if anyone attending is also psychic. Ready? Ommmmm...

AM, before I send it, no, girl...you already know I'm not having one at "the BP" here in town again.  Last time all the rednecks showed up asking "who they baby's daddy" was and it wasn't pretty, remember?

;)

DISCLAIMER:  The above statements are all attempts at humor and should not be taken seriously in any way. Whether or not TTL achieved the lofty goal of making AM or anyone else laugh is beside the point, it made TTL laugh about the town she lives in at present. That is all. Thank you.

Ha Ha!  Good one towards the light!

Lil, {or any one} I wonder if you would share what your inexpensive psychic party pack consists of?  I contribute 2 free reading certificates to be won at the end of the party.  They can be used any time up to 6 months for winners. {But not at the Psycic Party.} I will use my personal business card with "1 FREE READING" written on the back.

Also?  You spoke off Psychic Games that can be played at the party. What are they?  All of this seems excellent brochure information to give to the host of the party a week or 2 in advance.
