TAROT - The Velvet Hammer {how to read time frames and seasons of the year}

Tarot Symbols are a powerful tool when read as smoothly as the alphabet.  Like a velvet hammer, Tarot can tack down detail, time frames & seasons of the year.  When tarot cards age, they become as soft as crinkled velvet. This is when they are at their best. Faded like a pair of jeans, they mold to the curve of the hands that hold them. Even their odor becomes the scent of the hands that use them. As a Tarot Master 38 years, I go by the following rules:

TIME FRAMES WITH TAROT

{Time is elastic. Therefore time is always approximate.}

• Wands = Hours or Days

 • Cups = Weeks

 • Swords & Pentacles = Months

 SEASONS OF THE YEAR THROUGH TAROT

 • Wands = Spring = Growth

 • Cups = Summer = Creative endeavors

 • Swords = Autumn = Action, "the harvest"

• Pentacles = Winter = Profit, Accomplishment & Harvest Home.

WHAT STATE OF MIND SHOULD YOU TAKE WHEN SHUFFLING TAROT?

Because we wake up each day in a different mood, it is important when shuffling the cards to "GO NUMB." {Listen to the question…go Within....quiet your mind.}

 • Let your mind go COMPLETLY BLANK. Go within to the “quiet.”

 • In “the quiet”’ is Universal Knowledge and Angel Guidance

•WHY GO NUMB? This prevents “projection” of your own life, seeping into the reading.

 • Should your own life be a mess, GOING NUMB may be impossible. These are the days reading for another…may sound more like a reading on your own life.

 • When in trauma stay away from the cards until you have mastered "GOING NUMB"

ARE MINOR ARCANA CARDS IMPORTANT?  {YES!}

There are some who feel that the Minor Arcana cards are not important. They may even take them out of the deck and only read the Major Arcana cards.

 • Life is never black and white…..Major Arcana cards are Power Points

 • Life is more then Power Moments; it’s the “little details” along the way that bring us to the Power Point moments

 • Minor Arcana are the “little details” that brought you to where you are.

 • BOOM! The Velvet Tarot Hammer pegs the problem.

 • Minor Arcana, though a hassle to memorize, are well worth the effort to make you an EXCEPTIONAL reader.

IN TIME, READING TAROT SYMBOLS BECOMES AS SMOOTH AS SILK

• Tarot describes the WHY of your energetic clairvoyance

 • Tarot adds EVEN MORE DETAIL to your energetic clairvoyance

 • CHANNELING TAROT, is the ability to go BLANK, so that your ego and personal life can step aside for Angel Guidance.

Like walking or playing an instrument, it takes time to cultivate a true talent with Tarot. What bothers so many clients is when Tarot is read like flash cards. In time, Tarot becomes like the paint brush for an artist, or chisel for a sculptor.

"TIME FRAMES ARE ALWAYS APPROXIMATE" Too right. Thank you for this guide... i use the same way of interpreting time, although the seasons i differ on.

Wands = Summer, Cups = Winter, Swords = Autumn,  Pentacles = Spring

Pesky cards, they differ all the time, :P

Yes. Good Point. Each of us reads seasaons differently.  After much reading for others, we each develop a style and format that works beyond the text book directions.  How do we know it works?  By the majority rule of client accuracy feedback we get. There will always be an occasional unhappy feedback. We move beyond that and consentrate on the majority. Thanks for contributing.  I appreciate that!

LOL!  I differ too, hehehe.  Cups, for me, is Spring, Wands is Summer, Swords is Fall/Autumn and Pents/Coins is Winter!  God love us all, lol.  Brighest blessings, Ladies!

When I "cleanse" the cards, that is to put them in order before Keen readings start in the morning, I put them in order of:
1}Wands
2}Cups
3}Swords
4}Pentacles {Major Arcana}

I see the first season Spring, {wands}-growth
I see the second season Summer{Cups}-creativity
I see the third season Autumn {Swords]-Action, Gathering of the Fruit
I see the 4th season Winter {Pentacles}-Home, Finances, & Accomplishment

I am an old Spiritualist of 38 years and learned Tarot from the "books of old".
I do understand that newer books have changed many of the rules. What matters is accuracy.  If your time frames are prooving true for clients...old or new...thats your special style.  Go for it! Thanks for your contribution!

I too use the "older" method for reading seasons and timeframes. However, I also take into account the material accompanying the deck choosen for the reading (I have over 200 decks and sometimes taylor the deck to the individual and energy expressed) since I find, much like a classroom, that the verbage/pictorial presentation can make all the difference in what the client takes away from the table to the interest presented.
