The Spiritual Message of Animals in our Lives

In Native American Culture a Power Totem Animal is an animal symbol that serves as a guide through life.  You may find the following exercise a fun and interesting way to channel the energy of animals.

3 ways to Channel through Animals

1} An interesting way to discover which animals medicine you could learn from is to pick up a wild life book and with your eyes closed, concentrate on a question or intent.  Open the animal book to see which page it comes to.

2}  You may come across the hair or feathers of a certain animal on a meditation walk.  Compare the animals power message to what you were thinking of at the moment you found it.

3} You may hear the call of an animal and be intrigued to learn whose call it was.  Again....what were you thinking of at the time? What was your intent?

Thanks for posting this.  It was very interesting to worry about the animals...I have often wondered about their meaning in our spiritual journey.

I have heard an owl a couple of times in the last few months, just off my back deck.  His call is reassuring.

Two nights ago I had a possum on my front porch.  Not sure what that means - but he seemed very comfortable and I left him alone.

I had an owl entering my living room a while ago. I was always terrified of bird fluttering around me. I made friends with owl while it sat about 15 cm away from me. This was at a very difficult time of my life. I always wondered what message the owl was bringing me. Now I struggle with a few issues again and am reminded of the owl. Thanks for the insight.

Interesting.  On a hot afternoon(about 0300) while checking out my parents house I ran into the tallest coyote I'd ever seen! He was finishing eating a bird.  He looked like he hadn't had a good meal in a long time.  He was off in a flash!

Waited for the sun to go down for a cooler walk with a lab. retriever  in the desert - a beautiful moonlit night. 1/4 of a mi. into the walk I heard  what sounded like a gush of strong wind in dense grass.  I froze because tonight there was no wind and in the desert there are no patches of dense grass.  Ahead to the left of me was a rattler dancing, white, in the moonlight It seemed to be a baby, like a lithe, white ribbon floating along the sand.  Time to head home!  April is the time the snakes come out of hibernation.

I've had a hawk come "visit" me in my backyard two weekends in a row.  Yesterday was very interesting, as she seemed to actually be vocalizing AT me!  I was glad to find out what her visit's in my life are trying to tell me. Thanks for the information!
