I like the analogies...and the advice. I don't know if Steve knows it or not but I do NOT have any problem saying "no" to people or things and and do it every day. However, yes, like probably most of Steve's callers, I do have that ONE Peanut Person that I'm allergic to.

Awesome and oh so true! What's worse than buying the item (after indulging in a free sample) is taking the box of whatever and going down the next aisle and leaving it abandoned on the shelf...making the little, old lady feel good "thinking" I purchased it, but realizing just what a mushy pushy I was not to decline in the first place...and the key words I'll use in these situations as well as those in personal interactions w/friends, relationships, coworkers, etc. is, "I'll think about it" :-) Very good, Steve - and very empowering cause it closes the door to blame and opens the door to self responsibility. Thanks for sharing - love your recordings!

Thank you Steve, best advise I got today and you certainly know that I have a Peanut Person in my life and I actually shut him down last week and didn't let him take my power from me. This just helps me enforce that.

Steve, I can't help it but feel that my boyfriend has been "selling peanuts" to me. I guess I see it but think that things will improve eventually. I hope they will since I have been coming to you for 3 years for advice and you keep sticking to your original prediction that we will have a future together. I know you that you tell like it is and tell the truth and only the truth and therefore I will hang in there and see what develops this year. Thanks for the reminder.

I finally had to respond as well...I work with 5 -6 other women at a medical office ~ the drain the dickens out of me because they are backstabbers and the like....I wonder if they realize that each and every one of them are doing it to each other to another person ~ their sounding board/complaint board?
Me, being the newbie still, I know when they are talking about me ~ I ain't stupid and it's sad they are that way, instead of all working together to be in a better working environment they have to lower themselves and show their true colors.

I really hope to find another job, but there isn't much out there right now, so I grin and bear it...Michele
