I am so happy for you both and glad to know at least 1 couple in this wide world is continually working on their relationship and nourishing and nuturing each other.

I am in a relationship and the man comes and goes and there are so many times that I am just ready to call it quits but with Steve's help - I am still here hanging on and waiting for him to come around. Steve, I hope he will because I am getting restless and each I find less and less energy to hold on. The last time I talked to you, you said - be patient. So I will continue and we shall see....

I never watch The Nanny, but just so happened to watch a piece of that episode. Those children were out of control, as were the parents! Don't we all wish we could have someone come into our lives and straighten things out for us like that show does! Steve, thank you for the encouragement. It's always great to get a man's point of view.

The analogy is interesting.. I know you are absolutely right in what you say is happening. I don't like it. But I know you're right. That's what I'm fighting with right now within myself..knowing what it takes to have what I want and being resentful that that's what it takes. I'm tired of being the 'strong' one and the one who 'leads'. Someone needs to write a book for all young girls and women to read on this. Thanks Steve.. as always..genuine, witty, and sweet. Thanks for sharing your life with us as well.

I guess it would be really stupid of me to say that of all days for me to hear your words, today would be that day. Yeah, I guess you're that good. You know how I feel about you. We've been talking for a'while now. You've gone through alot of stuff with me over the past year and a half.

Don't give up? Even when he's kicked the you-know-what out of me? Man that's hard but I guess that spoiled child I helped to create needs me to put him in that naughty corner. Hard but good. Wake him up. His tantrun has gotten out-of-control. Don't give up? Not sure about anymore that but everything you said makes sense. You do have a special way of putting things. I just wish he "heard" you too.

As for your wife? Man you are one lucky dude and yes, she must REALLY love you to have finally said yes.
I hope one day I'll be just as lucky to have someone who thinks it's ok "to report in" but know he never really needed to in the first place. :-)

Steve, that was great! I loved it. Now I believe there is still hope for my situation. He is getting better and better. Says he will never never get married but we will see. He is at home alot more and not out partying like he was when I first met him. I know it is hard sometimes but on the other hand he is happy when he is with me. Jokes around and calls himself my husband and I tell him "I don't think so" lol. He has to change alot more. Every one deserves to be loved. If they get the love they never had before they are willing to at least try and change. Now he is starting to call me which he never did before to tell me that he is stopping off to see a friend. Things are getting better. Keep up the great blogs Steve I love them. Hugs

I am also glad that I am not the only one that said no to proposals, then felt sorry for the guy before saying yes to him. they do conform to the womans standards, it just takes time.

Well Steve,

What can I say, I have been meaning to comment on this for a while but couldn't think of the right things to say.

You are a lucky man to have such a wonderful wife, wish my ex would have felt that way about me, but then again, if things had not happened the way they did, I never would have met this guy, my temporarily lost little puppy dog. Like you said, he just needs to realize who I am but is slowly making his way there. Patience is what it takes, you keep telling me that, but as each day passes I struggle a bit more. If it weren't for your encouragement and kind words, I think I would have given up by now.

This blog brought me to tears, as did the others, but at the same time, they are what keep me sane and keep me going.

We are lucky to have someone like you, such a positive role model to remind us that things happen for a reason and we all become stronger because of it.

Thank you for being you and for being there for those of us who need your spiritual guidance, your mentoring and just a friend to talk to.

Steve as usual you give the best advice. I strongly agree with this feed as it applies to my situation. I really believe that people only treat us according to how we allow them to treat us, especially in relationships. When I look at my on again off again relationship with "W" I know that I partially share the blame as I did not reinforce my boundaries when I needed to thus creating more crap in my life. From talking to you and working my way through the nonsense created by my noncommital to stand my ground on matters that mean the most to me, I now realize that things can work if I stand firm in who I am.
