Ooops, She Did It Again! Britney Returns to #1 With Blackout
Ooops, She Did It Again!

Whether you like her or not, Britney Spears, proves this week that she is a force to be reckoned with! Her latest CD, "Blackout" has made its debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 200! This becomes her 5th consecutive studio CD to debut in the top spot, and makes her the current record holder of the most consecutive #1 CD's by a female artist.
Despite, her Summer of media tabloid rumors and legal issues regarding her custody battle with Fed-X (her x-husband), Spears has proven that she can transcend scrutiny, people considering her a “has” been, and a media which is obsessed with her demise to bounce back with her fans screaming, “Gimme More..”, yet what does her horoscope state?
Spears is a precocious Sagittarian with her Sun located in her natal 3rd house of rumors which harmoniously sextiles her Moon (also the 10th house ruler of vocational career) in the media 5th house. This grants Britney her never ending relationship with the paparazzi, which as of late seems to be the only relationship she has maintained. However, her transit of Neptune (delusions and illusions) over her Moon will be coming to an end in the next 6 months, which could strongly place her in a better position as we move into 2008.
Many called her MTV appearance a dismal career failure, yet she was the topic of water cooler conversation for 72 hours after the event. Does this mean failure? Hardly! It means despite her actions she can still create enough media attention to keep her current and to keep her in the public’s eye. Why, you ask?
Transiting Mars is currently in Britney’s 10th house and is creating a transiting finger of God, with the Sun (ruler of the her 11th house of circumstances beyond her control) and her Moon (ruler of her 10th house of career, ambition, and vocation), which makes this period a highly stressful period in which Britney needs to integrate her relationship with the media in order to get them to see her as a viable adult and mature artist. However, the planet of luck Jupiter is going to begin its transit over her Neptune (ruler of her 6th house which also contains shocking Uranus), which means that around the month of December luck will begin to change for Spears, and she will begin to rebound from her career misfortunes. (I also suspect, psychically not astrologically, that Spears will perform again over the period of the next 4 months, in a flawless and spectacular performance which will silence her critics)
Regarding Spears legal problems, changes will begin to occur on this front as we move into December as well. Expect Spears between the months of December – February to regain joint custody of her children. In addition, towards the summer of 2008 you can expect Britney to enter (or re-enter) a relationship which will turn out to be a long term relationship for her.
Her sales of “Blackout,” will be successful despite the recent decrease in album sales due to online pirating, and her recent media debacles. It can be summed up best in this review by Nekessa Moody for the Seattle Times:
“Just when it seemed safe to write off Britney Spears as a punch line only capable of entertaining people through tabloid escapades, she goes and gets all musically relevant on us. "Blackout," her first studio album in four years, is not only a very good album, it's her best work ever — a triumph, with not a bad song to be found on the 12 tracks.”
