When we become new to spirituality, there is a natural tendency in us to try to change everything about us. We begin to hide our negative tendencies and habits, yet the problem is our negative thoughts remain. As we grow spiritually our thoughts and actions begin to match our words, and this is a process that everyone on a spiritual path goes through. Hiding ‘who you really are’ is not spirituality, changing ‘who you really are’ is. The spiritual journey is ‘what is’ important, not spiritual perfection!
