A new school year is beginning, and Saturn is about to teach us some important new lessons!! On September 2 the ringed planet enters Virgo, where it will remain for about three years. The Sun and Mercury are also in Virgo as the month begins.
Saturn is the teacher and the taskmaster of the Zodiac and represents form and structure. The rings that surround the planet symbolize the bonds of restraint. They urge you to be responsible and to pursue noble goals and thereby become a better person. If you are in good circumstances appropriate for your time of life, Saturn can stabilize things. If you are not in an appropriate position, changes may occur that are not necessarily pleasant. If you work hard at it you can finally get the point as Saturn often makes us try harder. Saturn in Virgo represents a healthy mind in a healthy body so you will have the urge to eat well, exercise, do good work and stop worrying so much!
Mercury visits three signs in September, drawing attention to a wide variety of needs and issues. If you have been experiencing delays or shortages, things may improve after Pluto turns direct on September 8, and Venus turns direct on the 9th.
Pluto’s direct motion will expand our horizons spiritually and philosophically. New people will enter our lives that can help us expand our sense of trust and create positive outcomes. Venus’s direct movement in Leo will definitely put you in the mood to play (especially since Saturn is out of Leo!)! It’s party time!
On September 11th a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 18° Virgo lights up the sky and your life!! Eclipses always bring major changes and have an element of the unpredictable. They are considered ‘course correctors’! The three-day intervals preceding and following the 11th mark a turning point, but the effect of this eclipse will last until February 2008. We will all be learning the lessons of developing our analytical abilities and learning to put things in proper perspective. Wherever 18° Virgo falls in your natal chart will find that area of your life stimula- ted and will be the focus of your attention over the next six months. Remember to ‘go with the flow’, as change is good! :-)

A New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun are in the same sign at the same degree. This is a time for concentrated energies and new beginnings. The New Moon in Virgo is a time to organize and create systems, order, health and routine to your life!
