Did you ever wake up one day with the feeling that there was something you were supposed to be doing?  Exactly WHAT, of course, is an elusive fact...hiding deep in the back of your brain... misappropriated by your Blackberry, never to be seen again?...zapped from that 2008 calendar next to your desk  (OK...wait, that's from 2006.)  So I had this feeling today.  And I could not for the life of me figure it out.  Student loan payments?  Paid.  Car roof?  Up.  Dry cleaning?  Well, so I went to go get my dry cleaning (and found my navy silk suit!)...But I still had that feeling of something left undone.  I checked my purse, my briefcase, my cars, my appointment schedules, and my email.  Nothing seemed left undone.

And then I realized it.  And it hit me hard, this realization.  And I verified…yes, indeed, it has officially BEEN OVER A YEAR since I last posted in my daily Keen blog.  Yep.  I mean you can imagine my guilt.  I’ve been busy.  True enough.  But is this an excuse? No, not at all…I mean, I have other blogs.  I have a vegetarian recipe blog and a technical blog and a mathematical blog and blog for my private website…I even have a political blog.  So it’s not like I just… POOF…forgot about the existence of blogs.  I just pretty much forgot about this one.  Hence the guilt.  So.  I figure it is only fair to give you 365 blogs all at once.  OK.  I’m lying, I’m just going to give you one really long one and hope you’ll forgive me.   

So what have I been soooo caught up in for the last year that I’ve been too busy to Keen-blog?  Just life actually.  No major Earth-shattering tasks.  No moving or marriage or divorce.  No new babies or surgeries or major home renovations.  I’m pretty much exactly the same…yet a year older…though I don’t look it ;-)

I have been working on a book…but I’m always working on a book, so that’s not new.  I’m consulting on two projects in DC, but I’m always consulting on a project, so that’s not really new either. I guess the moral of the story is that I’m just a lazy, forgetful gal who is happy to have found her navy suit but distressed to find she failed miserably at her daily Keen blog.   That’s funny…because if I were a guy the obvious reply would be, “You are SUCH a mathematician”…but since I’m not a guy (one thing I remember clearly!) no one is giving me that out.  I’m hearing “Bad, bad Mathie….how dare you neglect your blog.” 

So…all I can say is that I will try harder…and stop referring to this as a Daily Blog.

Promise!  I’m putting it in my Blackberry right now…
