Question 2: Hell's Spells and All Is Well
Keen Blog - Day 6.
11:19 A.M. (Eastern)
I've been having a hectic week but it is nice to come to Keendom and settle in with a nice juicy question from a caller. I have to admit, I hesitiated over answering this question from a regular caller until I started receiving unsolicited PAY-TO-VIEW mail in my Keen Inbox. Then it was a no-brainer...I had my next Blog Question!
Dear Mathematician,
I recently paid for a series of spells to get my man back. I still don't have him back. Now what? Was I ripped off?
Marvelle
Well Marvelle,
I have to say much of your situation can be summed up with the old latin phrase "caveat emptor." I mean, did you really think a spell was going to work? I ask the question because I know you pretty well at this point. And I know your situation. The man in question has not spoken to you in over a year and I've never hesitated in telling you that you have a bigger chance of being eaten by a python on an airplane then you do of this guy coming back to you. If his recent marriage was not a clear indicator then perhaps his infamous words, "Drop dead" could have told you something. Were you not paying attention in Math 101?
But Marvelle, I am not trying to embarass you in public. You raised the question to me, but I want you to know that you are not the only one who has been in this situation. I've encountered way too many people with similar circumstances. I think spells seem to represent a last dying hope for many people. But you know this, don't you? YOU could be writing this blog. You wanted to know if you have been ripped off. You wanted to know "Now What?" Well, here's what.
First, in my OPINION....you were ripped off. I mean, I suppose it would be one thing if the guy came back, but he did not and he's not going to come back (sorry to be blunt.) I'll be direct and forward....I think spells are BS. Not because I think they don't work, but because I think it takes some sort of platinum balls to try to control and manipulate a person energetically for MONEY. And people talk about government corruption!? Ha!! What if your guy DID come back because of a spell? It was not because of love, that's for sure. You bought and paid for him. I mean, your spellcaster basically became a pimp.
Now you can disagree with my view on spells. You can say, "But Math, how is manipulating a person with Magick any different than manipulating them through action?" And all I can say is....manipulation is manipulation, but with magick, the everyday chump never sees it coming.
Second, Marvelle, you marvelous gal, let me tell you what you are to do now. First, if you paid for the spells through Keen, you are to contact them first thing on Monday for a refund. Keen is very helpful if they think that a client has been defrauded. Now if it was not through Keen, it may be a little bit harder, but you MUST do something or others will become victims, too. One thing I know about frauds and cons....they do not stop, they just redirect their energy. One person may go from Ebay fraud to selling spells on Keen or other websites. Another may go from robbing banks to swindling little old ladies out of their life savings. It is up to people like you to actually see that they stop. How would you feel if you found out later that the same person who sold you a spell later stole someone's identity?
If you know the state where this spell seller lives, you can make a claim against them with the state's attorney. Or if you know their locale, call the local police or DA. They may just open a file, but trust me, once they get another complaint the poo-poo hits the fan. Now if you paid a lot for these spells you may wish to seek action at the Federal level. The FBI handles white collar and internet crimes such as psychic fraud. It is not up to you to determine whether or not you WERE defrauded, only that you believe you were defrauded. Many times you will discover these con artists already have criminal files that dates back for years.
At the end of the day I hope you did not spend more on these spells than you could comfortably lose. Interestingly, I say the same thing to gamblers. I know people who have lost homes due to con artsists, so please be careful.
Finally I have to say that not all spell casters are going to burn in hell. I think there are many, many people who perform spells with pure intent and nothing but love for the world. I have good friends in this category, and though I will never refer them for spellwork, I know they are not looking to rip a person off. Here are some tips I was given from friends who do spells: 1) Do not pay for a spell until after it worked. If someone wants money for a spell be sure they will refund you if it does not work. 2) Do not "pay for materials" and think the spell was done for free. It is one and the same. 3) Ask for a photo of the person doing the spell. Demand for it. This way, if you encounter trouble, you can include this photo with your complaint. 4) Do not be ashamed to file a charge if you do feel that you were scammed. It happens to many people.
Thank you for the email Marvelle! I will send you free minutes soon. I hope this answered your question.
