A Brief Introduction to Magi Astrology
About seven years ago I became fascinated with Magi Astrology. The more I learned about it, the more I liked it.
In 1625 a small group of Shao Lin monks gathered at a monastery on top of a mountain near the southern coast of China founding a secret society of astrologers, which now has the western name of Magi Society. Until recently, the Magi Society remained closed and secret to all but a very few of the most gifted astrologers in China. Membership in the society was very limited as members passed on their secrets to new members.
Anticipating that with a communist takeover, the political climate in China would change for the worst, all of the members of the Magi Society left their homeland between 1945 and 1948. Most settled in Hong Kong and carried on the society’s long-standing traditions of advancing astrological knowledge. The society has now spread in a worldwide network of members, and a chapter of the society was officially founded in the U.S. in 1955.
Because of their need to protect their reputation as top Astrologers, membership to the society was still limited. For a Traditional Astrologer to be admitted as a qualified practitioner of Magi Astrology, a candidate had to undergo stringent tests and only after proving to be fully versed in the principles and concepts of Magi Astrology would he/she attain the coveted certification to the Magi Society.
I do know that, despite many years as a professional Certified Traditional Astrologer, I had to study long and hard before I was able pass their test six years ago to become a Certified Magi Astrologer. Since then, I am in awe of this magnificent new field of astrological interpretations.
The basic principles of traditional astrology are retained in Magi Astrology, but Magi techniques are drastically improved and redesigned. For those of you who may be interested, during the following days I will attempt to briefly explain the general concepts of Magi Astrology and how they differ from Traditional Astrology.
