By definition a Lunar Eclipse is an obscuration of the Full Moon when it passes through the shadow of the earth. Therefore, a Lunar Eclipse occurs whenever the Moon passes through some portion of the earth's shadow. This means the earth stands between the Moon and the Sun.
TODAY'S LUNAR ECLIPSE:
The Lunar Eclipse takes place today, August 16, 2008, at 2:18 PM PDT. It will be a partial eclipse at 24 degrees Aquarius. Anyone whose birthday is around Valentine's Day is likely to experience the effects of this eclipse. Also, if you have planets at 24 degrees Aquarius, you will most likely feel the energy of the eclipse.
