You Have It All

Someone told me the other day in a rather nasty malicious way, “It’s okay for you, you have it all”.

I was stunned, this is someone who lives in a large house, has a husband who absolutely adores her, never has to worry about money, has a wonderful social life, drives a great car, is as healthy as anyone can be, basically has everything we equate to “having it all”.

Yet her words made me realise she has nothing and she is right I have it all.

My car is off the road, it needs mending I don’t have the money to mend it or run it once it is mended.  What a loss, actually no, on the contrary I discovered walking tightens my butt cheeks (hehe).  I plug myself into my MP3 player and away I go walking to the shops, jumping on buses, seeing parts of the town I live in I wouldn’t otherwise notice.

I have an illness that is potentially fatal, loss no, it has made me want to live my life more, made me realise just how precious life is and how the little things matter more than the big things.  How it is important to let people know how much I feel about them.  When I’m gone I want a smile to appear on people’s faces when they think about me.

I live in a tiny two bed roomed cottage, not owned, rented.  But I made it into a home for myself and my daughter, it hasn’t got expensive flashy things in it, but what it has is an abundance of love, laughter and feeling of safety.

I work around 15 hours a day every day, (somebody please phone me hehe).  I am on my own if I don’t earn the money there simply isn’t any.  I always make it through the month, sometimes easier than others.  I have learnt to make meals out of very little. I learnt the art of creative housekeeping. Yes sometimes I worry like mad that I won’t have enough to get by, when that happens I trust to spirit and tighten the belt a little, (and shout at the phone to ring a lot with clients)

So how can I agree that “I have it all”, when looking at it actually I have nothing, that’s easy.

I have it all because I make the most of what I have, rather than worrying about what I don’t have.

Listen, if you wake up in the morning You Have It All so Make The Most Of It.
