LOOKING WITHIN OUR LIFE FOR IMPORTANCE
So many times in our lives we give power to people who
should have no power within our lives.
For example, we give our power to them by letting them affect our day.
The man in front of us, as we drive to work is going 10 miles under the speed
limit making us late for work. Then you park the car and begin to walk in the
office and the boss starts jumping you case over something that normally would
be small but makes your day at work worse.
You then head to the parking lot for the drive home to find a long
scratch down the side of your newly painted car. When you walk in to your home, that special someone and you
being to fight over something that normally would be very trivial.
Looking back over your day, you gave the man in front of
you power over your complete day.
Although he is nameless, you let him affect you and the ones around you.
You see, when you let him turn your mood into a bad one, you reached out and
said “here’s my life, let me take on your bad energy”. This started the list of things that turned
your day into a bad one.
When we let people take power over our life and let it
affect our lives, we do not realize it but we willingly allowed this to
happen. How can you NOT allow other
people to take control over our lives?
First we have to learn what we put out comes back. So if you think this is going to be a bad
day, guess what….you get a bad day. If you keep going I am going to be late…..guess
what you are late.
Think of it this way, put a money amount on yourself. If I walked up with a blank check in my hand
and asked you how much you would sell for, how would you answer?
Then in order, of all the people in your life, put a value
on each one of them individually. But
remember….all of these people in your life must equal your value…. ….nothing
more. Then if someone enters your life that does not have a value and it does
not equal your value, then they don't matter and you do not allow them to
affect your life.
This is difficult for people to do sometimes. But with practice, you learn to think you
are not equal to my value and I am not letting you change how I feel about me and my life.
This simple change in your thought process allows you
to take back control of your life. This
takes a lot of practice sometimes and it is very easy to slip back to your old
negative thought process but it CAN be accomplished.
