Racism

I have been utterly amazed at how many Right Wing nutcases there are here on Keen. I'm just blown away at how many are taking every internet rumor and blowing it up as proof that Obama is a muslim, isn't an American citizen, is a socialist. I am offended that being a Muslim is an accusation in this country where church and state are seperate. I have no understanding of how, after eight years of Republican rule, during which our economy has been shattered and our rights have been stripped thanks to the Patriot Act, any sane person would want a continuation of these policies. That they would cosign a candidate who, by his own admission, has supported Bush in 90% of his policies.

Don't get me wrong, I liked McCain. I had a lot of respect for him until his voting record in the Senate over the past 8 years stripped him of his "maverick" ideaology. His handling of his own campaign and his choice of Palin as a running mate just made me shake my head. How anyone could support a woman who refuses to see how the U.S. is contributing to climate change, who fights the protection of Polar Bears, who supports arial hunting, who did not speak out against charging women who were raped for the rape kits that would allow law enforcement to catch the rapist, who encouraged succesionists in Alaska, who goes to a church that supports witch hunts, is beyond me.

But actually this all makes sense. Because, whether they will admit it or not, I beleive this all motivated by Racism. Whether it is acknowledged or not. I think a lot of people are unaware of the racism that lurks in their subconscious. My proof of this is simple;

What if John McCain were a  former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama  finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating

class?

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said  "I do" to?

What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife  after she no

longer measured up to his standards?

What  if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain

killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable  organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5?

What if  McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

This is what  racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes

positive  qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in

another when there is a color difference.

With America  facing historic debt, 2 wars, stumbling health care, a

weakened  dollar, all-time high prison population, mortgage crises,
bank  foreclosures, etc., which team would you hire?

Educational  Background:

Obama:

Columbia University - B.A. Political  Science with a specialization
in International Relations.

Harvard  - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Biden:

University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political  Science.

Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:

United States Naval  Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Palin:

Hawaii Pacific  University - 1 semester

North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general  study

University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism

Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester

University of Idaho - 3  semesters - B.A. in Journalism

What if Barack Obama had an unwed, pregnant  teenage daughter?

Now, which team are you going  to hire?

Peace, or not,

di

I applaud you for finally putting the truth out there.  It's amazing that in this day and age people are still so hateful because of the color of a person's skin they get judged not by his character and how qualified they are but only because they don't look like them.  I know I've experienced it.

# re: Racism @ Sunday, October 26, 2008 10:26 AM

Yes it is 2008 and racism still exist. I think that we need to be embarrassed by how Obama has been treated. How can we even expect Mc Cain to be president when he has sold out his integrity every way possible. he can not go and have a conversation about peace with world leaders. Especially not moslem/ arab leaders. He stated that being arab= terrorist. He can not represent america with the hatred that he has incited at his rallies. We have no choice but to elect Obama because he is stable enough to help the US get our reputation back Even most world leaders are hoping for Obama to win.It is the right way for us.

# re: Racism @ Sunday, October 26, 2008 10:59 AM

ARRGHHH !!  Embarassed by the way Mr. Obama has been treated?

Is he a citizen of the US or not?

Is he Muslim or Christian?  No body seems to know, not even him.

Is he connected to the racist minister Jeremiah Wright or not?

Has he had an ongoing relationship with "Uncle" Frank Marshall Davis who is a child molester? (Google his name)

Who are his monetary backers?

What do we need to be embarassed about -- let's see some hard factual truth, not just words written on paper.

I don't like either of the candidates ... because they are both tied to the same machine.  There is no definitive line between Democrat and Repulican - they both stink like old bull crap.

You want change?  Something new in politics?  Don't vote for either. Take a REAL stand, and look at some of the other candidates, not just the ones who are being 'bought out' by the same regime.

It doesn't matter what color someone's skin is .. and I feel that it is racist even to mention it.  I don't care if a candidate was green with pink stripes -- as long as they were not bought and sold by the rich.  They are the ones we should be looking at with eyebrows askew.

Obama is no different than McCain, or Bush, or Clinton.  Get over it.

# re: Racism @ Sunday, October 26, 2008 11:20 AM

another thing! this is the united states freedom of religion right? there has been so many Muslim/American soldiers who have died for the united states in the iraq war. it is not a spiritual to condemn any religion. if Obama was a Muslim so what! i think that you just offended some keen callers Dolphyn. one of my very best friends is an Arab/catholic so I guess half of him is decent. he was there for me from day one when my son died. He is that friend that I can call in the middle of the night when I am stranded. He has been there and he is a Iranian. He is the real deal when it comes to being a loyal friend.

I AM GREATLY SADDENED BY THE HATRED AND IGNORANCE ABOUT ARABS. Many are loyal americans.

# re: Racism @ Sunday, October 26, 2008 11:48 AM

I think we need to vote for the right person regardless of sski color.  I do not think obama has bee treated unfairly.  He has most of the manistream media o his side.As far as him not beig a citizen is questionable.  It is my understanding that the DNC has put pressure on the Pa judge to slow down the progress of the court case.  Interesting he went to visit his grandmother who he says is sick.  Is that the reason or is he trying to cover his birth certifcate which does look phoney.  He is also at record as being born in 2 different hospitals there. How can that be. Well in any case I am african american and I am voting for McCain because Obama's plan is not good for America bottom line. so lets not use the race card here.  there happen to be quite a number of african americans supporting McCain and I just happen to be another. Lets not forget that it is this great country that allows us to use  our voice in this manor.  Lets hope whoever gets elected that this remains constant.  And no matter who gets elected we need to stand united or we will fall which the rest of the world cannot wait for so lets not give into them.
Thanks and God Bless All. Amen to that

I say vote for the candidate of your choice based on the issues. not race, religion, paranoia but the issues. I have friends who are loyal republicans who will vote for Mc Cain because he supports their issues. They are embarassed by the personal attacks that Obama has received as far as his name, race, citizenship, etc. This man went to visit his dying grandmother. If he had to hide his birth certificate dont you think it would of been done long time ago. I am just saddened by this thinking. We are all immigrants. Thois land belong to the native americans. We must embrace the differences that this country was built on.

# re: Racism @ Sunday, October 26, 2008 1:27 PM

I removed a few of the comments, including some of my own. Primarily because the discussion was dithering down to personal attacks and attempts at out bitching others.

Perhaps we can make our cases, share our points of view, without sharing our disrespect for others. Not that I am a master at this. I am as guilty as many.

I think the original post was fairly factual. I do think "right wing nutcases" was probably more than I should have written.

As for the comments that are still in the thread, thank you all for sharing.

# re: Racism @ Monday, October 27, 2008 9:06 AM

I've mention this on another post, and I think it needs to be restated here:

I study history, in fact I write kid's books about U.S. history, and what is very troubling to me is the fact that we have not been this divided as a nation, and this hostile to our fellow countrymen, since the time of the Civil War.

Both sides are making extreme claims against the other to generate fear and mistrust and to convince one another that the United States as we know it will cease to exist if the other candidate wins.

The are plenty of "nutcases" out there, both on the left and on the right.

Your enemy is not your neighbor who may have a different background, different life experiences, and a different perspective of like than you do, and therefore decides to vote for the other candidate.  He has just as much of a right to vote for the candidate of his choice as you do.

Our real enemies are those who, in the name of there extreme form of religion believe that there religion entitles them to kill every man, woman and child in our country.

At this time in our history do we really want to be at one anthers throats like this?

We've already had one Civil War. Let's not start another one.

United We Stand Divided We Fall.

# re: Racism @ Monday, October 27, 2008 12:05 PM

As I said, I probably should have left that comment out. I have not edited it out because of the extreme nature of comments made.

I see extreme in comments at rallies like "kill him." The idea that Obama has a socialist symbol on the back of his head. That he is the antichrist. That a trip to Hawaii to visit his sick grandmother is actually a trip to further cover up or alter his birth record. That he is not a citizen and is a Muslim.

Now trust me, I live in California and grew up in San Francisco and Marin County. I know left wing radicals/nutcases. I remember a protest against a Disney movie organized because it was mean to fat people.

I am not seeing the kind of nutcase rhetoric coming out of the Democrats. Maybe I am missing something. I watched the video of Palin's church where witches were demonized. So I don't see that as rhetoric. Nor is that being focused on too much. Am I missing something here? If there is rhetoric coming out from Obama supporters, please share.

In the meantime, no one who disagrees with my premise, let me rephrase that, NO ONE who disagrees with my premise, is acknowledging the incredible discrepency in the educational backgrounds of the candidates. Here we have actual facts that seem so easy to ignore.

Here we have actual facts? I'll say this again, what you are basing your acceptance of factual information on? I read it somewhere, somebody told me or I believe this because it sounds like something that fits my programming.

One solid rule of thumb, if it's published... It's most likely crap generated to get wired so you'll react.

If you think I'm wrong? The reread the responses so far.

Keep in mind, real facts are RARELY distributed to the public without some hidden agenda.

For what its worth...

My grandfather never finished grammar school, yet he owned his own auto repair business.

One of my great-uncles never finished grammar school, yet he became a successful building contractor and, in his day, was a very well respected man in the community.

My father had to drop out of college, then he joined the service during WWII.  He too was a very successful businessman who was also well known and well respected in the community.  In fact, I still recall when I was a child hearing stories about people wanting him to run for mayor, and he refused.

There is nothing wrong with having a college degree.  I have one myself, but having a degree from an ivy league school doesn't guarantee your success in life, nor does it mean that you are smarter than anyone else. My own family background proves that you can be successful without having a college degree.  There is something to be said for ambition and hard work.

That said, can someone please show me where it says in the Constitution that you have to have a college degree in order to run for a political office?

Marina I agree my dad worke 3 jobs to help us thru the rough times..some people just want things handed to them with being responsible for themselves..maybe this might help..

Two Different Versions. Two Different Morals.

OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house
and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

-------------------------------------------

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house
and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands
to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others
are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table
filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is
allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries
when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the
news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Jesse then has
the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Obama & Biden exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has
gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate
tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is
confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation
suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges
that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent wel fare
recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the
ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the
ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

# re: Racism @ Tuesday, October 28, 2008 8:57 AM

Though very cute, your story presupposes facts not in evidence.

It assumes that the red ant and the black ant have the same opportunities. It assumes they have the same obstacles. It infers that those without are lazy. That is simply not the case. The working poor in this country work harder than anyone. Please ask the housekeepers in your community how Obama's presidency will effect them. I'll bet money that they will tell you it won't make a difference to them, though it may make a difference for their children.

I have worked my ass off all of my life. The Networks are never going to share by story. If I get cancer or have serious health problems, I'm simply going to die. No matter who is elected. Oh well. The same will be true for people who grow the crops we eat, clean the toilets of the upper middle and upper classes, work at the local laundromat or gas station. Regardless of who is elected.

As I said in my first post, the beauty of Obama's presidentcy will be the inspiration he will invoke. It will lay in his ability to lead under a "power with" philosophy instead of the "power over" philosophy we have accepted since the creation of wars on the planet. As Colin Powell said, he is a transformational figure. I do not think everyone realizes what that means. I personally find it exciting.

Obama was not my first choice, despite the fact that since his emergence at the Democratic Convention two elections ago I knew he would be our first African American president. What I am adressing in this post is the double standard being applied to the candidates. We then began discussing the outrageous accusations. I still ask, is it even plausable that these accusations would stand as fact in the minds of so many if Obama were white?

Peace,
di

I still think you guys are getting sucked into the material world using perceptions while mistaking your understanding of "How you believe it is" and labeling your information as facts.

But hey, that's what the media and politicians are counting on when you cast your vote... So with that said, careful what you wish for...

# re: Racism @ Tuesday, October 28, 2008 10:03 AM

I think Di makes a very good point in that their are really two types of poor in this country.

I have a several close friends who fit the definition of working poor.  They would be like the ants in the story. They all have jobs; they work hard, but they've had some tough breaks along the way which have held them back and made it harder for them to live "The American Dream."  Still they don't give up. And they manage to live in decent homes, albeit not in the "rich" neighborhoods.

One of my "working poor" friends has a niece who is a drug addict living on welfare.  Her niece is in a custody battle trying to get back a child she abandoned two years ago.  She admits she doesn't love the child--she says she only wants him back so she can get a bigger welfare check.

My friend's niece is like the grasshopper in the above story.  And, sorry to say, there are a lot of "grasshoppers" out there.

Marina***you get what i am trying to say..I work hard but live within my means i think many americans are way into debt and the blame the gov't for everything.  When I bought my house i bought what i could afford not what i wanted.  Big difference. We all want the big house and the BMW but not all of us can afford that. Buy within your means.  This is why we had the bank loans falter.  People bought homes that were way out of there means and got low adjusable rate morgatges. For instance i have a friend who bought a house for 10,000 less than mine.  When the market housing market went up she took out home equity loans one on top of the other. Now she owes the bank more that the house is worth and is going into foreclosure.  why should I bail her out because she did not manage her money well.  On the other hand why did the bank loan her the money.  A very vicious cycle.

# re: Racism @ Tuesday, October 28, 2008 11:14 AM

Both candidates voted for the bailout. Both candidates chose a course of action that I personally cannot embrace. There are many grasshoppers as noted, and many work on Wall Street.

However, we are still talking about oranges when the post was about apples.

Which candidate will inspire Americans to serve? Which team is the most qualified? We can have discussion after discussion about how many people have succeeded without formal educations. That does not change the exemplary records of one team versus the rather paltry records of the other. If the tables were reversed, if Obama's and Biden's educational background were as pitiful as McCain and Palin's, would not the focus be on their education? Yet when those records are those of a white candidate we say nothing. Not even part of the discussion. Ignored.

Furthermore, which team is being denounced for ludicrous reasons? Why are those ludicrous reasons embraced? Despite liberal vs conservative views, can anyone honestly say that racism is not inspiring the attacks that would never hold up if the candidate was not a person of color?

# re: Racism @ Tuesday, October 28, 2008 11:49 AM

Di may be right, there may be some racism, but I also think there is a lot of sexism going on here too.

Right after the Republican Convention I caught a few minutes of a radio talk show hosted by a conservative preacher who was blasting Palin for being a bad mother, and making the case that because shes is a woman, her place was at home, in the kitchen, with her kids.  In other words, as far as he was concerned, she was not qualified to serve solely because of her gender.

As a woman that kind of a statement makes me furious!  Why aren't men who have children put to the same standard?  Why is it still a man's world?

Personally, I am not charmed with either candidate.  The one that I think would have been the best President was defeated in the primaries.  I would have no problem for voting for the candidate, regardless of race or gender, who most closely reflects my values. But this year it's not so much who I'm voting for as much as whom I'm voting against.

Who paid for obama's education?
In: Jobs and Education

There are many questions which remain unanswered about the mysterious Barack Obama. The mainstream media has vetted Gov. Sarah Palin more in the past week than they've bothered to vet Sen. Barack Obama over the past year. When you start digging into Obama's background, you turn up more questions than answers.

Obama's father was a Kenyan citizen and his mother was American. His name as a young child was changed to Barry Soetoro when his mother married Indonesian citizen Lolo Soetoro and moved to Jakarta. Indonesian school records state that Obama was an Indonesian citizen and not an American citizen and that his religion was Islam and not Christian, protestations by Obama to the contrary notwithstanding. When or how Obama acquired U.S. citizenship or changed his name back to Barack Hussein Obama is unclear. A birth certificate produced by the Obama campaign was determined by several document experts to be a forged document.

We know from his autobiography that he had Muslim roommates in college of foreign nationality. Now it turns out that an influential, radical black Muslim with close ties to the Saudi royal family and an outspoken opponent of Israel helped finance Obama's law school education. Obama's benefactor at the young age of 25 is Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour a/k/a Donald Warden. Here are some facts you should know about al-Mansour according to a Newmax investigative report:

"He is well known within the black community as a lawyer, an orthodox Muslim, a black nationalist, an author, an international deal-maker, an educator, and an outspoken enemy of Israel."
In a 1995 book, "The Lost Books of Africa Rediscovered," he alleged that the United States was plotting genocide against black Americans.
He was the mentor of Black Panther Party founder Huey Newton and his cohort, Bobby Seale.
Al-Mansour's more recent videotaped speeches focus on Muslim themes, and abound with anti-Semitic theories and anti-Israel vitriol.
At the same time he was raising money for Obama's education he was representing top members of the Saudi Royal family seeking to do business and exert influence in the United States.
He advises Prince Alwaleed bin Talal in his U.S. investments. Prince Talal is most famous for offering $10 million to the City of New York following 9/11, a contribution turned down by Mayor Rudy Giuliani because the Prince said American policies were to blame for the terrorist attacks. Prince Alwaleed has made tens of millions in contributions to Muslim-American charities, some of whose leaders have been charged by our government with terrorism-related ties. Prince Alwaleed also donates millions to Harvard for Islamic studies.
Newmax sought a response from the Obama campaign about the financial assistance Obama received from al-Mansour, but the campaign refused to respond. This disclosure came in a very unlikely fashion. Percy Sutton, a prominent African-American businessman, was being interviewed when he described how he first came to know Obama. "I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him," Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter. "The friend's name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas," Sutton said. "He is the principal adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama." "Sutton, the founder of Inner City Broadcasting, said al-Mansour contacted him to ask a favor: Would Sutton write a letter in support of Obama's application to Harvard Law School?"

Think about how many mainstream media reports there have been this past week trying to link Gov. Sarah Palin to the Alaskan Independence Party, which supports secession from the United States. Yet, this revelation about Obama's past received no attention from the news media. Why? Obama critic Andy Martin thinks the revelation is a big one. "This latest disclosure may be the 'smoking gun' that discredits Obama and destroys his candidacy." "And I think I know where it came from. I honestly do not see Obama surviving financial links to a close adviser of a member of the Saudi Arabia monarchy, not when Saudis were the instigators of 9/11." "Even a slight link to Saudi money would disqualify anyone from the presidency in the mind of almost every American." I agree with Martin that it is a big revelation. But this American news media has already decided Obama is The One. I have little confidence this will make its way into any mainstream media reports.

Dear happy2together, this is ludacris and sad. I have muslim friends. Am I a terrorist. Do you know how bad this sounds. Is every muslim a terrorist. Were the oklahoma bombers muslim. Are the kkk and the skin heads wanting to assinate obama muslim. The city gangs, domestic violence. Please lets be real here. I think that the top secret service would of not let Obama get thi sfar without checking him out. Do a background search on his birth certificate. I know it is a conspiracy to hide his records. Goddness people! Thios is a bunch of cow poop.So if he is not a citixen does that make him a terrorist? Ignorance is not bliss and in theis case it is sad.The reason why Mc Cain could spread lies because he knew that some paranoid people would buy it and he was right. Just like the woman who faked her attacked by a black man who was supporting Obama. It never happend. I bet Mc cain's campaign had set her up to do that because he was quick to make a big deal out of it but he never apologized when the cops said she lied.

When does intelligence set in?

Received this in an email didn't know any other way to share with you:
Clarification on candidates.

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."
* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers,  a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor,  spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of  13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl,  4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.
* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
* If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you're very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.
* If your husband is nicknamed "First Dude",  with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now. (author unknown)

Why is it ok that Sarah Palins husband wanted alaska to break off from the US. Isn't that unamerican and questionable? I just do not get it!?
No one is questioning the first dude to see if he is a terrorist.

Unless they are Bush, junior and senior.

I apologize also then. I just wish that we would vote for whoever we choose by facts and not race or gender. If a person likes Mc Cain they can but vote for him on the issues. I am sad that so many people want to judge Obama for being muslim and not a citizen. I just wish that america would act like america and include everyone. The world is watching our divisiveness and they see us as a country full of hate for everyone including ourselves.
I love being an american but this election has hurt my feelings because I see how race is still an issue. I am sensitive about this. I am planning to leave the country if by some fluke Mc Cain is president. I no longer want to be a part of this insanity. I have watched him lie and I just hate that integrity no longer matters. I f I sound rough, I am just tired and I want this election done. I am disappointed in the advisors who would not be inclusive to every person regardless of their race, religion, beliefs, etc. I have tons of republican friends. My dearest friend who I practiced with loves Palin. That is her right. She never badmouthed Obama and that is what makes her good.

"The world is watching our divisiveness and they see us as a country full of hate for everyone including ourselves."

Which is one of the beautiful things about Obama's upcoming presidentcy. He will halp us change the world's view of us.

"In a 1995 book, "The Lost Books of Africa Rediscovered," he alleged that the United States was plotting genocide against black Americans."

Which was close to truth considering how Crack was introduced into African American communities. Considering how, despite the fact that most people in prison are of color, and in prison for drug related crimes. Despite the fact that the percentage of White Americans using drugs compared to the over all White population is NO LOWER than the percentage of African Americans using drugs compared to the over all African American population.

"Now it turns out that an influential, radical black Muslim with close ties to the Saudi royal family and an outspoken opponent of Israel helped finance Obama's law school education"

So? He's antisemetic. Does this mean Obama is?

in my earlier statement, i meant to say we need to stop calling obama a muslim and not a citizen. We act as if a muslim is a bad thing. We are all immigrants. We must become inclusive and less divisive by ignorance and hatred with no explanation. I was furious and nauseated earlier by the mindset of of Muslims are all bad. That same mentality of assuming that muslims are all bad .It is the same mentality of saying all americans are evil. we are no better that those terrorist if we think in the mindset of all muslims are bad. What makes it ok for us to think that way.

To happy2together first of all you know nothing about the Islam religion or Muslims the real religion teaches non-violance. Unfortunately there are people who make their own rules just like the radical skin head group that blew up people in their own country in Oklahoma or the KKK or the Neo Nazis I see you mention nothing about that and they called themselves Christians.  People should stop making these hateful remarks because of your own internal bias towards  peopel that don't look like you.  Get over it, in this day and age this world is made up of all kinds of people and we can either learn to live together or you should go find an isolated spot to live.

Dear radiant Spirit I think I do know that there are extremeist of every faith..I do not catagorize people by there color, race or religion as i beleive there is one God for all of us..I also am aware there are americas that want to kill americans such be the OKlahoma bombing..I mean lok at AYERS he said he his sorry he did not do enough. But I thought you would fid the following information I found today on HllBuzz.  And before you read this ask if there is nothing is on the tape then Obama should just give permission to release the tape forget the source no one gives a tape and says do not release it.. that is why they give the tape..so enoy the read and check out the site as well..

Not written by me..

If you want to see a video of Obama and Michelle having dinner with Edward Said and his wife in 1998, watch Hannity tonight.  We’re pretty sure he’s talking about a video of the event the picture above was taken at.

This is NOT the tape the LA Times is refusing to release: that tape is from 2003 and shows Obama at a goodbye dinner for Rashid Khalidi, who left Chicago to teach at Columbia University (Khalidi, FYI is the man responsible for inviting Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia, then complained that Columbia University didn’t treat Ahmadinejad well enough).

On the tape the LA Times won’t release, Obama’s seen laughing and cheering as various pro-Palestinians bash Israel and make other anti-Semitic remarks. Obama has a fantastic time at the event, and makes remarks himself to the effect that Israel has no right to exist and that Israelis are responsible for genocide of Palestinians.

According to all sources that have described it, this is apparently the most disgusting thing anyone has ever seen: a presidential candidate laughing and cheering as people talk about destroying Israel, America’s greatest ally in the Middle East, and the only democracy in a region strategic to US interests.

That’s why the LA Times is refusing to release the tape — because seeing Obama cheer on the destruction of Israel would, obviously, damage his campaign.

And the LA Times does not want to do that. So, protect Obama they continue.

Ayers said he felt they did not do enough to stop the war in Vietnam. He did not say he did not bomb enough.

The name calling and accusations may never stop; I still laugh at Bush.

In the end, Obama will be our president and there will be a small segment of people who will still make accusations.

The sad thing is that those who are focused on the insinuations and name calling will not be as open to the transformational quality of his presidency.

I watched Obama on the Daily Show yesterday. I remembered why he has my support. He is going to change the way we see ourselves, the way the world sees us. When we get past the election process and the time comes for us to begin the work of fixing the problems we have been facing for decades, many that are now coming full circle, will any of these accusations mean anything? Most of us will move forward. I feel sadness for those who are stuck in them. Here is an opportunity to create a greater good for all. I am excited. I hope we can all get excited together.

Peace,
