Prophesies of the world ending have been part of our consciousness for ages. When I was an adolescent I read the famous psychic Jean Dixons’ prediction that the world would end in 1986. I remember compiling a list of the supplies I would need to live comfortably when the world changed. Isn’t it interesting how most of us envision our own survival? We all see ourselves as the hero in the mega disaster dramas we’ve seen through television shows or movies The one who along with a few others wades through the litter of a destroyed civilization, or speeds through falling buildings as people nearby are crushed.
The idea that one will be one of the few survivors comes from the same consciousness that accepts a quickly advancing Armageddon; wishful thinking. Who’s life would not be easier if debt was erased, and existing resources were free for the taking?
Suggest this idea to most “New Agers,” and receive a sigh and a reminder that we are better served by positive thoughts. In fact it is very interesting how the dogma of the Law of Attraction is held sacred by the same community that embraces the “end times.” The conclave of Hay House, with “28 items in Books with the keywords law of attraction,” also publishes Sylvia Brown who predicted, on national television no less, the world would end in eighty five years. Leaves us all to wonder; should we use the power of visualization to attract an underground habitat stocked with rice, beans, tang and bed sheets? By the way, she made that prediction in 2007, in case you want to do the math.
Not that New Age people are alone in the end times predictions. Christians are way ready for the world to end. Still, the Mayan Calendar ending in 2012 is probably the most popular. Even the History Channel has documented the coming of the Mayans’ prediction of the worlds end on December 21, 2012.
If you research the Mayan Calendar predictions, you find that those who have studied it, and gone forward to teach, aren’t really predicting the “end.” They are predicting a “shift in consciousness.” This is worth talking about, but I will save that for another post. Part of the shift they are describing is preceded by, according to them, the failure of the World Bank. The failure was suppose to occur this year, starting in April of 2008. Hmmm…
What have we seen? The banking industry in the U.S. is certainly in trouble. One of the largest banks in the country, Fannie Mae/Frankie Mac would be dead if not for federal intervention. This is the way of the end time prophesies. We see partial truth, usually not quite as dramatic as initially prophesized. This leads me to expect an ending of some of the structures of our society. Furthermore, I believe they will be replaced by new structures, that may or may not support our way of life.
The Ascended Masters have taught me that Armageddon has been averted several times by those who channel and live within the Light. At the same time, all civilizations before us have fallen sooner or later. With Global Warming crisis far from being in check, I do expect major changes. I also believe we have the opportunity to consciously choose healing. Will a healed planet, and a healed society, include Mac Donalds? Will it still need Animal Shelters and factory farms? What does a healed world and society look like? There are several websites which show maps of the world after all of the prophesized Earth Changes. I’d like to see some websites that share our collective vision of a world and cultural healing. Could we collectively decide what that looks like? Well of course we can, and in fact are doing so. However, we are not, as of now, doing it consciously.
Peace,
