Today’s Tarot card is the Hermit, reversed. In the upright position the Hermit is the spiritual traveler seeking enlightenment or perhaps that one honest man. Reversed its meaning is much more mundane. It tells us to get out there and toot our horn; advertise ourselves. Don’t hide your accomplishments under a basket. Let yourself shine. Possibly, look for another job. Place advertisements.
Astrologically, today presents us with a Blue Moon: the second Full Moon in the month of May. This is often the time to get out there and do something we normally wouldn’t even think about doing. This Full Moon at 9:04 PM EDT happens in Sagittarius. Plan a trip, enroll in higher education and begin the study of meditation. At the very least, you are going to feel very restless. There could be some early morning arguments with loved ones. They aren’t trying to fence you in: they are just plain worried. The energy is so high tonight you may have trouble sleeping. Those of you with RLS, restless leg syndrome, are in for a nasty night so you might as well call me for a reading because I’ll up with you.
The Full Moon has many magickal uses. As the Moon will now begin to decrease, it can be use for spells of decrease. DUH! Weight loss, habit reduction, even curing tumors fall under this Moon’s dominion. Need to tighten the old financial belt? Budgets are best started at this time. Exercise programs are more successful when started now. On the emotional level, spells to keep a lover true and stop their wandering are great for this period. This is also, if you are dumb enough to let your pets wander, a good night to put a collar on them and petition the god Horus or goddess Bast to keep them near to home and protected.
I find that I have trouble sleeping when the moon is in Sagittarius because of my restless leg syndrome. Sag rules the lower legs. When the moon is in Scorpio, like last night, my dreams tend to be more vivid and involve the other side. How about you?
