Finding Your Heart's Desire

Today's topic is a very popular one. The Heart's Desire is often called the Soul's Urge by Numerologists; but most of us just ask "What do I really want?".
How many times in life have we gone in a direction only to find out it wasn't what we would make us truly happy? Often, we are faced with choices and have difficulty deciding which would be best for us. There are so many options!
Knowing our Heart's Desire, can help us to make a decision that will be compatible with our Spirit. Its what our Higher Self knows will bring lasting happiness; because it most fits who we are. The answer to the questions what do I want or what should I do is to ask a better question: "What is most like me?" Choose what is most like you, and you won't go wrong.
Sometimes what's best for us, doesn't always match up with what we THINK we want. If we could stop a minute, and really look at those wants and desires, really honestly question ourselves; we might find out that they aren't our own desires at all.
Many people go into careers, studying very hard, even becoming successful; only to find out that they feel empty inside; are still not happy.
Choosing a mate that doesn't support our true Heart's Desire, no matter how wonderful that person is, ultimately ends in sadness or dissatisfaction.
Choosing a place to live, how many children to have, what school to attend or car to buy or any of a myriad of decisions can be confusing, and potentially lead us down a path that takes us very far from where we intended to go. Better decisons means a better life. We all want that.
We may end up saying: "I have everything I could ask for, why aren't I happy?" If you hear yourself asking this question, its your Heart's Desire that is calling out to you. If we ignore that call, it can lead to frustration, feeling out of tune with ourselves and others, even complete unhappiness.
The Heart's Desire is such an essential part of ourselves, that we simply can't be who we really are if we ignore it; we feel lost, and dissatisfied if it is not included in our life.
When we are children, we usually know exactly what will make us happy. If we've gone astray from our true heart; looking back to the games and dreams we had as children, can be a big help in getting back on track again. Were you happiest dancing around and around? Saving the day? Coloring? Playing school or house?
Yes, children know until someone tells them they can't make a living playing Superman, or dancing in circles. Except there actually are people who do make a living saving people from extraordinary situations like Doctors, Nurses, Firemen, and Paramedics. There are plenty of people making money entertaining us as Dancers, Singers, Artists, helping us to learn and grow, and so on.
These are not just childish dreams. Knowing our Heart's Desire Number can help us get back in touch with that dream again. Confidantly knowing what will make us happy, can give us the courage to go for it, and live out our dreams. Accepting our true selves, and shining up the internal personality we really are, is what will put a spring in our steps and a smile on our faces. Its our uniquesness that others cherish about us - crooked smile, warts and all!
Its time to finally keep those promises we made to ourselves. Never stop dreaming! Never stop being YOU! Its time to listen to yourself, and follow your true Heart's Desire.
Is this selfish? Not at all. In fact, we are depriving others of all that we are, and of our special talents and skills if we hide this most important part of ourselves. We may even be setting an example for others to ignore what makes them most happy in their lives. No, being who we really are is not selfish - its glorious! There's always a way to incorporate more happiness into our lives.
So how do we find the Heart's Desire Number? Numerologists take the vowels from our name at birth, and use the numerical values of those letters to calculate the Heart's Desire Number. By example, in the Pythagorean System, Mary Jane Walsh has a 6 Heart's Desire. If she goes by Mary Walsh as an adult, her Minor Heart's Desire is 3. If she changes her name in marriage, that will change her Minor Heart's Desire as well; but never her true Heart's Desire Number.
As a 6, Mary Jane will be happiest surrounded by family and friends, making her home beautiful, she'll love helping others to shine; but as a 3, Mary will be funny, outgoing. creative and find it easy to express herself; she'll have a "gift for gab". As a 3 she will love to be the center of attention,  and be great at entertaining; many great comedians have a 3 Heart's Desire Number! Perhaps she could blend the two and make a happy living entertaining or writing for children.
Along with all of these fine qualities, there are the negative traps we need to avoid or work on, too. Every number has both aspects, so we can learn to integrate all of who we are by paying close attention to every facet of our being.
Is it better to be a 6 or a 3? No number is better than any other, each is unique; and, even a Karmic Number, pushes and challenges us to grow closer and closer to that one shining unique person that no one else can be.
If you want real success in your life, work on becoming fully, uniquely YOU. No one else can do that better than you can! Settling for a copy of someone else, will never ring true for you or to others; and it simply won't fit you and bring you happiness. What better way to eliminate the competition than by being the best you possible! Think of the most famous people we know; aren't they totally unique, "one of a kind"?
Curiously, when we shorten or change our names, we concentrate and fortify certain aspects of ourselves, and take on new qualities; some may enhance us, others may not.         Even if our friends give us a nickname, by accepting it as our shortened name, we unconciously accept the changes it represents; so changing your name is complicated, and requires the guidance of a true expert in this field of Numerology.
Can you see how important the Heart's Desire Number is, and how it can help us? I hope this gives you another tool to craft your own special life.
