Lesson 5: Build Confidence

This lesson is about building confidence in yourself. When we think about the thought of how to be confident we think it is merely impossible to do such a simple task. How can one say to have confidence in yourself when your debt is out of control, you can't control the portions you eat and you are trying to focus on your relationships. It takes us back to the last lesson of maintaining your spirit. In the last lesson I discussed focusing on the positive energy so you can then work on this lesson of building confidence in yourself. If you say "Yes I can and will lose weight" Then you want to build confidence in yourself by stating that you can accomplish the goal because you are disciplined to do so. If your debating whether to end an unhealthy relationship then you need to build confidence by saying to yourself that you can find yourself a mate that will treat you with respect. The last lesson just taught you that you emotionally need people to respect you. This lesson is teaching you to execute that thought.

You words such as : " I will" " I can" " I know"

If you start a sentence with any of these phrases you will build confidence. It is one of your greatest challenges to actually say something positive about yourself without feeling guilty. It can be difficult to accept that you have many positive traits. If you feel you need to change something of yourself just make sure you are doing it for the right reason for example, your health. Focus on giving yourself credit for accomplishing your goals. If you graduated from school then say to yourself that you are smart and savy. Build a list of positive traits. Why do your friends, family and associates lke spending time with you? what is it about you that keeps them coming back to you? Focus on building confidence by focusing on you. If you begin to think that without someone else's assistance you cannot accomplish a certain tasks then you are lacking confidence. If you decide to lose weight or eat healthier and need the assistance of a trainer or counselor then remember to say to yourself " I will accomplish the goal of sticking to this diet or trainer so they can help me to look and feel good about myself" Remember you control your choices and options. No one else can do it for you. Build confidence by saying to yourself " I know I can do this for myself" " I will succeed".

The more of these phrases that you use for yourself the more confident you become. Try it throughout the day. Say at least 3-5 confident statements about yourself then see how it makes you feel. If you feel guilty then you need to go back to the last lesson and focus on your spirit. Move forward and focus, again, on building confidence. You will notice a major difference in how you view life and everyone whom you are surrounded by on a daily basis.

Focus on building confidence and you will focus on a healthier you.
