I have written before about Senator John McCain, but, unfortunately, those blogs "crashed." Now, for one thing, he is a lot older than the other candidates. Although he does have an honorable reputation and has served the country, no doubt, there are some major planetary forces working against him. The main thing is that his natal Moon is in Capricorn, and, at the time of both the Republican National convention and the Presidential election, the planet Jupiter will be in the 12th position to his natal Moon. That is, unfortunately, for him, a house of loss. Now, other astrologers may talk about Neptune and Pluto, but sidereal astrologers don't put much emphasis on those outer planets. Additionally, there is a groundswell of opposition to Semator McCain's stance on continuing the war in Iraq, which, of course, means a continuing tax burden for our citizens. As I have mentioned in a previous post, Dr.Mike Huckabee did surprisingly well on "super Tuesday" and is 19 years younger than Senator McCain. Astrologically, Dr. Huckabee has Jupiter positioned well at this moment and also in the Fall. But, of all the candidates, including Barack Obama, Hillary has the strongest astrological forces.

The primary was full of surprises in this election. I have written before, that I feel that due to John McCain's Capricorn Moon, he will not get the Republican convention victory, due to Jupiter being in his 12th house (house of loss) at the time of the Republican convention (9/2008). On the other hand, Mike will have Jupiter in his 3rd house from his natal Moon, which is in Scorpio, at the time of the convention and the election date (11/4/2008). Hillary, of course, will have Jupiter in her 10th house of career, which is very auspicious. Barack will have Jupiter in his 8th hosue of death. There are, of course, many other considerations that will affect the voting patterns, but I will not comment on them as they are not in my field of expertise. He does have a classical Kalaparusha yoga with all the planets hemmed in indicating a quick rise to fame. With Jupiter in Mike's 3rd house (acquisition of talents), vs Jupiter in Hillary's 10th (career advancement), at the time of the convention and election, she is more favored.

As an astrologer, I usually predict on the basis of the planets' transits. I have already done the charts of the major contenders. I believe that Senator McCain, although a valued statesman, will spend his retirement years writing his memoirs; the planets are not favoring Barack, they are favoring a clinton Presidential victory. She is also in a major Sun period (2006-2012), which ususally indicates involvement with the government, and she has an exalted Sun giving high position or rank. I would have to say, that even from his astrology, the planets are favorable: Jupiter will be in the 9th position to his Moon (Aries) and in the 4th house from his Ascendant (Libra).
