A sweet Thanksgiving memory of mine is when my Dad and stepmom came to visit me and my new husband in Hickory, NC. I didn't know how to cook a turkey! But I had pate and crackers on the table, as my Dad taught me how "to do the bird". My hubby and I had just adopted that year three rescue kitties. I call them my mountain kitties because they were born feral on a snowy day at the foothills of Appalacia. Since we adopted three, we named them Bart, Lisa, and Magoo, and collectively they were known as "The Simpsons".

Magoo was my ADD child, Lisa is my bipolar one, and Bart is a little autistic, though he's working through it. There was probably a bit of inbreeding in those foothills, just kidding.

Well, Magoo was a kick. First he decided his favorite place to sleep was in the cast iron turkey pan. Then he discovered pate...jumping on the dining room table as we were about to sit down, and running down the hallway, chased by my Dad and I (the only other two who love pate). WE got the pate with only one chunk out of it. Dad and I looked at each other, and said "Still good?" Still good. LOL.

What a great memory. Magoo is now dining on a heavenly chunk of pate this year, but his memory warms my heart. And I share the love I have for him and spoil my Lisa and Bart with extra hugs, and yum-yums.

We never know how much time we have with the ones who make us smile. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Show it, and don't hold back. This my Thanksgiving Wish for you all.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Sending grateful love and thankful blessings,

I Like this quote Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

What are these blogs' purpose? Yes, it is for marketing, and exposure to our talents here on Keen.

But they should also serve to inspire, encourage, give hope, and love.

Not to bring politics into this forum. Politics are divisive. There are better forums for bringing in one's opinions about what is going on in our country.

Instead, I would encourage our fellow advisors to concentrate on what brings us and our clients together, not apart. One cannot legislate goodness; it comes from within.

God's blessings,

Danti’s Note:

It’s a beautiful spring day as I sit here on my patio writing this to you, Dear Reader. For most of us, this winter has been a long and surprising one. Unusually hard. The Earth and her rain, sleet, snow, floods, quakes, and tsunamis seem to reflect the harshness of changes many of us are experiencing all over the world.

But today is a respite in Dallas, TX. The sky is blue and cloudless. Where there was snow just a few days ago, Bradford pear blossoms are blooming and swaying in the breeze. Except for the infernal blowers (sigh) the only sounds I hear are little brown birds chirping and darting about the boughs of trees, looking for mates, or twigs for nests.

It’s a good day. A day of quiet (for the most part). A day of peace. The solace fills the empty coffers of my soul, as I know it is a gift to be enjoyed and sent from above.

Yet I find this ironic, because just a couple days ago when the snow was here, something happened that is inspiring the story I’m about to write.

But before I do, I just want to point out that perhaps for some in this urban world we live in, horses are hard for people to relate to. But whether it is about dogs, cats, hamsters or horses, this is really a story of any animal, and how loving one, can change one’s life. Anyone who has loved an animal can relate. Anyone who has really loved, can relate.

So today, I’m going to write about two spirits whom I have been blessed to know and love in my life.   Again, it pre-empts what I had planned to write, so from now on I will not have an agenda for this blog. It keeps it real. After all, this blog is about Dances with Spirit—choreography only goes so far. It’s nothing without the passion, emotion, and inspiration that Spirit provides moment-to-moment, IN the moment.

So, out goes the agenda—my agenda—and in comes His. That’s when everything works out for the best anyway.
