There is magic in this world. Each of us has magic. We all have inner power that needs to be unleashed, released, drawn out to open our doors to unlock the magic. This morning in meditation about several things, my guides said, “Don’t block the magic. Unlock it.” What? Look, spirit, we are positive. We believe. Look we are keeping ourselves on the path. We are doing everything right. Yet there must be something we are missing because the universe has set everything up for us so we don’t fail. All the elements are here at our fingertips to use in unlocking the magic, allowing it to flow into our lives. Sometimes we get angry. Okay channel it. Anger unleashed has fire power so strong, that we worry that some will get burned if we just let it go. The thing is no one will get burned if lessons are not needed. We hold back from using our inner strength. We don’t deserve it. This dream will never happen. Without realizing the walls, we may be blocking our own magic by being afraid of the changes that will come when we get our dream. We long for him/her for a long long time but we aren’t even realizing that we worry about it working out when he/she is there. Be bold in unleashing the inner voices, the inner child, the inner power. Use all the elements as we complete this part of our journey, to continue down the path to the next one.
Animal totems: The old myth is that Rabbit and Witch walked together in the beginning of Mother Earth. Witch was always giving to Rabbit who was her friend. Anything rabbit needed suddenly appeared when it was desired. Rabbit started to pull away though because he was afraid. This is too much power, too much magic so he would hide when Witch came. Witch was very angry as she was hurt. She told him, this is your lot now. You will always run, hide. You will be afraid. So this is how rabbit became associated with fear of not believe in the magic, the power. Rabbit totem tells us to plan ahead. Set the plans in motion. Rabbit reminds us to use boldness, belief rather than boxing ourselves in drawing our own lines to stop the magic through our own doubts, fears.

Everyone else has an opinion. From the time we are very little, other influences in our lives try to fit up in the box, get us to color in the lines. Yet deep inside each of us is the need to rebel. To break out of the box, to be unique, is part of learning to love ourselves. As a child we are given the freedom to pull up, start to crawl, start to walk, fall down when we need. Yet as time goes by, starting as teens, authority figures, friends, start to try to keep us from falling, from making mistakes, from learning who we are so that we fit in. Learning to know our inner spirit no matter what anyone else says, is the greatest love. To tell people every day, we may not be liked, but we will be respected. We will be treated with dignity, with the knowledge that we are different. We have faults, yes, so do the others who try so hard to convince us our hearts, our dreams are not right. Set on our path. Stay on our own path. We are important to this universe. We fill a spot, a part, a reason that no one else can fill. Never stop fighting, never stop dreaming, never give in. We are here to achieve the dream spirit put in our hearts. We will win as we continue to love our dream and ourselves with the greatest love of all.
Animal totems: Its well known by all I allow the spirit of an animal take over during yoga. I move more freely as I allow the energy of animals who are more in tune than I talk over. Dragon has been coming in quite a bit. I must need to be more protective, authoritative even more than I already am. Air dragon flew in yesterday. This totem is inspiration, insight teamed up with the vitality of liking, of loving ourselves. Air Dragon commands, demands, expects great respect. Whether we are liked or not, whether we are believed or not, great flashes of light, of vision, and psyche come to life with this totem. This totem, the Air Dragon, brings clarity, truth, great insights into the problems we face, as we believe in ourselves rather than listen to what others would have us do. We must trust our own inner voice, own inner child, following our hearts, our dreams.

Simple things, simple days, sunny summer days when our inner child just comes out to play in spite of ourselves. Today on this day when our hearts just see to wake up with expectancy, with hope, with belief even if the facts seem so often to belie our dreams. We think we are foolish for hope. We doubt when we get a message of faith. When our inner child comes out to skip, to play, we tone it down. We need to always be serious, be mature, be grown up about things. We start needing to fix him/her, the boss, the co-worker. The world is serious enough, sad enough, negative enough. We can start to simply cause others around us to smile by letting inner child come out to play. Ever have a hard day a work, where everyone seemed to be on everybody else’s back. Then come home to find every one there grumpy as well. We start to drag down. We get this way too. Our loved ones, our mate, our children, these loved ones are out there in the dark negative world, battling the war of life. We come together only to start “fixing” their problems by criticizing, preaching, nagging, talking, we forget the simple things. We need to be the safe haven where the inner child in all can come out, to feel loved, cherished. This is what we all want. Simple, easy. Deb, just think how he/she is acting. I need to be shown love too. We get what we put out. Law of Attraction- put it out there, it may not be today, may not be tomorrow, but the simple ray of light will keep shining, coming back to shine on us.

From our birth, the universe asks many tasks of us. We are asked to believe in the impossible, strive for the impossible. We are given a purpose, a task, even a mission to achieve throughout our lives that we often feel too hard, too long of a wait, too much to bear. It seems that the dark side finds that one little thing that we want so much, that is our deepest hope, our strongest desire, sticks the knife in, to twist it a little every day. Our “cross to bear”. More often than not, we feel alone. Yet the universe provides us “mother”. It may not be our birth mother. She may be already flying with the eagles to the other side. We may not be close. Yet, spirit, Great Spirit, will send the one person, may even be male, that will nurture. As we look back in life, we will see teachers, friends, coaches, spiritual advisers who will nurture, who will love, who want the very best, who will stay the journey with us to reach our impossible dream. “Mother”, the goddess without, the goddess within each of us will be there when we reach out. Knowing that no matter what we are loved, we are enabled to do the impossible.
Animal totems: Yesterday while talking to one of my beloved “children” here on keen, sister chipmunk ran right across my deck. My first reaction was “Oh no” my organic gardens. I’ll have to capture him, set him free out at mom and dad’s. Yet then I realized her message. Chipmunk reminds us to balance work, and play. Chipmunk isn’t aggressive, will not battle but she does chatter away fussing about this or that much like mother reminding us that we are not balancing our lives properly. She loves the gardens, burrowing deep into the ground under the foliage. This week my messages all include gardens as they bring beauty to our life. In my video, I sing “Tiptoe through the tulips” just to make one smile. Chipmunk reminds us to tiptoe through the gardens during life. She listens well, so this totem teaches us to listen well to the messages, discern from the tone of voice if it is reliable, then move on to our dream.

We feel hurt. We feel the pain. We know that that this is over. There is no way that we can ever forgive, go back to this dream we have; how could we when this/that has happened. We feel our dream is burnt out, gone, we need to give up. All the dreams we had, all the hope is ashes left as dust when the fire has gone out. The day comes when we are stirring the ashes just a bit. He/she comes to help stir. The winds of change pick up, blowing the tiny flame into a higher hot fire. The phoenix bird rises out of the ashes. Beautiful, colorful, brilliant radiant light surrounding the dream, the phoenix bird comes alive to bring the dream back. Not only is the dream back, it is stronger, it is more sure, it is more beautiful than before we thought it burnt out. The dream does not end. The vision expands. The Dream grows as we continue to have faith, ride out the storms. Our passions, our dreams, are as the phoenix bird, just when we think it is gone for good, it arises stronger and more alive.

The one I remember is Willie Nelson. Always a favorite of mine, my first guitar was an acoustic Fender because Willie had one. The other reason is Willie. He had dreams. Back then, young artists, musicians oh yeah some got “discovered”, but many though, played honky tonks, the streets, the county fair route for years never to make it big. DJs back in the day, were wooed by musicians, producers to play the records. The singer/writer made the rounds begging, pleading, yes, sometimes even bribing DJs to play their songs. Willie did all this. His love of music, his belief in himself, kept him going. With his album, Red Headed Stranger (1975), Nelson had his first taste of crossover success. Born in 1933, this made him 42. He had spent $500 of his own money, pushed, shoved, begged, conjoled his way into making his dream. Life wasn’t easy. Arrested for pot smoking, IRS, women troubles, our lovely Willie could definitely say that he’s had a “few more dances with the devil” (Tim McGraw 2011) than others, he enjoyed life following his dream. Never giving up, never stopping, not letting the obstacles get in his way, Blue skies smiled at him throughout it all.
Animal totems: Bluebird: This totem makes us smile. When we see bluebird, we are reminded that everything does is to take us on our path to abundance, happiness, success. We are, in fact, given the inner power to fulfill our wishes. We just get so wrapped up in the problems, we fail to see that we can! Bluebirds are gentle, using the throat chakra to express with creativity, simplicity and beauty rather than pushing, bullying, but they can get into a scuffle if too riled up. Today is a beautiful day. I want to share this as it might just help us to believe. The doctors, therapists, techs all told us that my mother wouldn’t ever get any better than she is. I, of course, you know Ms. Bulldog never say die here, said, In our family we don’t say CAN”T. Yesterday, in front of the speech therapist that said she’ll never speak again. We asked her where she wanted to go for Mother’s day. Shoney’s or Cracker Barrel. Their mouths all dropped to the floor as she said Cracker Barrel clear as a bell. Two young boys, hunched over an old ratty school desk, papers scattered from one end to the other. Face scrunched up in concentration the two friends puzzle out over an algebra lesson where 2 +2 doesn’t always reach four. On the pages scattered from the desk to the floor around their feet we see eraser smudges, a slight tear here, there where the eraser finally wore through the paper. The numbers are crossed out, written over, the students have gone back to square one over again so many times, they are ready to chuck the whole project. Yet teacher is waiting at the front of the room. There must be some reason for this task. Two boys whisper,” this is a waste of time. When we I ever use this. I just want to be a rock star, a policeman,” …their list goes on. There is nothing in their plans that show a reason to not move back to simpler times, easier work, or task at hand. Love, goals, dreams are much like these learning lessons. Our goals surely don’t need these extra spiritual lessons, this extra time we are using to get our dreams in our lives. Yet later in hind sight, when we have reached the height of our life, when things finally fall into place, we tend to get complacent with things. We forget the harder tasks, the lessons learned, we forget the pain. Yet somewhere, somehow when a problem arises too hard, we can remember how we wanted 2 +2 = 4, but got algebra, 2+2+x = 5, so what is x? We can go deep inside, find answers to other problems faster, when life isn’t all of a sudden simple. We make choices that make it harder, adding to the equation people, things that don’t need to enter our minds, creating the issues we don’t need. We can go back to the simple 2+2=4, only once we conquer the fear of the harder problems of waiting
Animal totems: Once again I slip into an animal during my yoga path. Lately dragon comes to me. Along with the Mother goddess,the power of 3. Hera, in the Greek sect, is the mother. She is Old Crone, Pregnant goddess, the little inner child all in one. All three sit quietly watching as water dragon swims up to chat. Dragon totem is one of the High Protectors. With water dragon we are bringing Passion, Depth, connecting to all of our spirit. Memories come of the inner child, reminding us to take time to play. Some of our fun, playfulness, has been long hidden from who we are now. When we have to face the hard problems, using water dragon, inner child, we can bring back to the simplicity of 2+2=4. Dragon of water element brings healing to emotional peace, balance as we swim upstream against the current during life.

After her stroke she lost her speech, but we are gaining ground everyday with teaching her to speak again!! We are so excited about this computer that she is able to use. Sunday night, I had been having some discomfort. I signed off as I consider my clients pocket books. Kept falling asleep so I went to bed. As I sat on the side, ready to climb in, I honestly thought I was having a heart attack. I keep aspirin by the bed,so I grabbed 2. I couldn’t move, breath the pain was so bad. Me, who is never afraid, felt the flash of fear. Not for me, but my parents, my family, my dogs, my clients, I, then got angry. So I told spirit that “okay I am ready . Its up to you.” I started naming all the “stuff” that spirit has given me to do for others. I’m very blessed to be able to give so much everyday. In a bit, I was able to go to sleep. Yesterday we ran all the tests, deciding it was just my iron levels being low, spirit reminding me to eat my protein. My point in sharing this, is that if we just walk through, don’t give in to the fear, think past it, Great Spirit steps in, listens to us, gets us back on the path into the light. Fear is our worst enemy. Laugh in its face, get angry at the right source, the darkness that tries to steal our hope, our faith, every day in some way. Don’t fall into the dark’s traps of fear, doubt, but rise above it with every last bit of strength we have. We will get out before the demons know we are there.Animal totems: Looking up animal to help confront what ever fear we have, we find Bat. Bat is symbolic of change,transformation, confronting fears head on, running on into the dark without stopping. See, bats don’t see well. They use their instincts, their inner radar, smell to overcome fear, go on into the dark caves, that bat jumps into in their flight. Bats tell us to let go of the past, let go of old habits, family, love dynamics that keep up in the same patterns to bring happiness, change into our lives. Herb Magick: in my greenhouse I am growing herbs myself. I just started yarrow. Now yarrow is associated with the witch and her cauldron but it is good properties for us. This from alternate medicine site: Yarrow is a very valuable medicinal herb, with much scientific evidence of use in alternative medicine as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, stimulant, and tonics, vasodilator and vulnerary. Yarrow is used against colds, cramps, fevers, kidney disorders, toothaches, skin irritations, and hemorrhages, and to regulate menses, stimulate the flow of bile, and purify the blood. Medicinal tea is a good remedy for severe colds and flu, for stomach ulcers, amenorrhea, abdominal cramps, abscesses, trauma and bleeding, and to reduce inflammation. The main constituents are volatile oils including linalool, camphor, sabinene, and chamazulene, sesquiterpene lctones, flavanoids, alkaloids including achilleine, polyacetylenes, triterpenes, salicylic acid, coumarins, and tannins which prove these uses in alternative medicine to be effective. Extracts of yarrow exhibit antibiotic activity and may also act as anti-neoplastic drugs. Externally for treating wounds and stopping the flow of blood. Life is not easy. No spiritual text, path, teachings ever suggest that because this is our destiny, our path to follow that it will be always easy going, smooth sailing, perfect in every manner. The thing is that spirit puts us on a path. the path is not always an easy one. there are rocks, logs, grown over weedy places over our path that takes us on detours that are longer. See, this is our path. We can not like it, think, now mind, I say THINK, we don’t want it. Yet, spirit has laid it all out for us. The Universe, the Great Spirit, most high powers of the spiritual world know what is ours to give us love, happiness, peace, and abundance. Everything in the situation is set up, is happening for this reason. To give us what we need to live fulfilled lives. Spirit has no personality, thought, to make it our harder or not a good life. People make unwise decisions that causes delays, stops, issues, big white elephants, or mountains through trying to just have the quickest easiest way so we don't hurt. This makes sense but we forget that everything Great Sprit does is to make a way for us to have peace, love, happiest, abundance in our life. We, as humans, decide that another way is best for us so we make things harder than they need to be. This is what others around us are doing. When he/she realizes, gets back on his/her spiritual path, everyone will find the happiness, the peace they are longing for, and you who I know is highly spiritual your inner spiritual soul will take over , let this be with grace, love and joy.
Animal totems: In yoga, I channel into an animal during the poses. Animals seem to be more graceful, naturally balanced, so it is easier to be in the “groove” if I am in animal mode. Dragon , particularly the air, and fire dragon has come to me lately. We all know fire dragon. He Protects with enthusiasm, courage. When we need courage to face the day’s problems, issues, fire dragon channels in our to flame our inner fire. Then air dragon also protects. Air element rules the intelligence. Air dragon says trust our inner voices as this protects the insight and clarity the winds blow in. Trust our inner voices.

Ah the old bain of our existence, time. We know in our hearts that we are not infinite; we are a finite existence that we have to fit everything in right now. All our dreams, our goals, we just know that we need it right now, this minute. We can’t bear to wait another minute. Yet sometimes in our hurry to get down the road, we miss the lovely sights, the happy memories that we see if we just slow down. The thing here is that we need to be prepared for when our dream comes, because “be careful what we wish for as we WILL get it. “ We believe if we don’t get there fast, as quick as we can, we won’t ever reach it. Driving on a trip, we watch the GPS wanting to get off the road, out of the car, anxious to get where we are going. Yet, we don’t doubt that the motel, the airport, the restaurant will be there when we reach it. It will be there. Yet in relationships, jobs advancement, we want it yesterday not realizing spirit always has a purpose for it to take a little longer than we would like. Single parents have more time with their children while the younger ones are adjusting to changes. We adjust to the change in bosses as we learn the ins the outs of that new job. Learning entry level positions, we can know how later as a boss ourselves to help the staff do their work properly. Rushing through life makes it no fun. Missing the roses along the path is not lovely. Today lets slow our pace, see the good in right now, as that dream is right around the corner.
Animal totems: My daughter’s family just came back from Gulf Shores. My grandson was all excited about going at night to find the sand crabs. This totem shows us how to protect ourselves, while all coming out of our shell. We need to find out with crab’s totem medicine if we are giving TMI telling everyone, anyone around us all about our inner being, the problems we are facing. Crab also shares with us to ask if we are not giving enough. Check to see if we handle others with balance. Crabs are sensitive, shy, protective. We need to wonder are we being too closed off. We need to reflect if we are telling the wrong people how messed up life is for us. Balance is the key here.
I am on my usual hours today. I take my mother to her service, do my weekly video, then I’ll be working. I have a few 2 for 2’s to answer. Will do them today. I keep having trouble getting an error page when trying to send, so it is taking a bit longer to get them done. I apologize. I look forward to sharing with each person that spirit sends to us. Times come when we either have to laugh or not only we cry, we want to pull out our hair , scream. We are each one going through “stuff” that can take us down to dark places in our soul if we allow it. The key here is to only let the troubles get so close to our innerbeing to we can think about the issue, ask spirit about the issue, but not let it affect our center our core. If we just stop, think about these situations we find ourselves in, try not to be 10s, which we all do, there really is something hilarious about the craziness that life has to hold.
Animal totem: Hummingbird: Hummingbird accomplishes the impossible dream. It teaches us to find joy in all things. Dig deep as they do down into the flower, to look for that one thing to laugh at, find joy. Explore things in our past that are the good memories, create our own happiness in the middle of the mess. Grab joy, laughter throughout everything.

We all have bad days. We all have troubles. No matter how hard we try to have centered, balanced lives every day, rain still comes. No matter how hard we try to stay positive, to keep our lives in order, the storms fall. No matter how spiritual we or others “THINK” we are, there will be “momma said,”there’d be days like this.” (credited by Wikipedia to Northern Irish singer/ songwriter Van Morrison, if this is wrong let me know ) . Our problem, though, is that when problems come we think “oh, this must not be spirit led because it is going so hard.” Yet, if we look hard enough behind the dark clouds, we can see spirit at work. I made a vow to myself not to bring my own experiences into things, as this is not about “me.”, but yet the spirits are nagging me to tell it like it is. I would LOVE to say my life is totally blessed so that I walk around floating as an old hippie on weed all day, but alas….. This trip to Texas, several have said maybe you weren’t meant to go there. Yet I ask very hard before spending any monies even someone else’s on things. See, I got lost several times on the Houston roads, the first hotel was yes, a drug den, with the lot lizards running around like crazy right outside my door. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, one could hear the people overhead who argued all night long. My spirit guides were yelling at me to get out of dodge. My cell died at one point while I was lost on Gulf Freeway circling around and around. So is this really spirit led? Well, in my lost circling, I was going to pull over and ask, right there in front of me was the Verizon store that I was going to have to google to try to find to replace the lost car charger. The young man was new, got to upgrade my plan, he was so excited he thanked me over and over. He didn’t seem to realize he was saving me money. Next plan, find a new hotel. Okay there is a conference in town. Only one room available. I grab it. I am excited, it is so great. The best part, is that when I got there, the clerk had a sick baby in the back. I told her to give it a little ginger tea, it would settle her stomach down. She had some ( the hotels are great now about having all sorts of herbal tea ( the nicer hotels ) so she gave her some in the bottle. She called me about an hour later saying the baby was asleep for the first time that day. Perhaps spirit led me to this child. Our troubles happen for a reason, I was grumping all day over things, but in reflection see what Great Spirit had in mind.Animal totems: There was a parrot in this store. In a cage looking quite spry, happy, chattering away. This totem can grow to be quite old, yet the clerk said he was only about 12 years. Bright colors, a lover of the sunlight, this totem is quite healing medicine. Especially in emotional heartaches. Parrot listens very carefully because he copies from each person. Parrot totem tells us when to speak, when to be quiet. Parrot totem says to choose our words well, tempering them with gentleness when need be, being bold and brassy when necessary. I am off all day today. I have much to do with the book, other activities today. Tomorrow morning I head back to Tennessee but will be home early so I will return to my Normal hours ( thank the gods) starting Thurday night. I know that my beloved keen family might feel somewhat neglected. I do apologize but for the last few weeks there has been outages on the keen site that my hands have been tied as far as getting calls and answering emails in a timely fashion. Animal totems: yesterday I saw the strangest looking bird. He was just standing in the road. After coming back to the inn I find it was a road runner. Although I’ve been in the west, and in Mexico I had never seen one other than the cartoon. This totem gives us speed but not without using our heads first. He thinks quickly how to fix a situation, shift our thought processes to include new ideas, plan, thenmake the move. The road runner thinks more often than just do althought he makes it seem quick and effortless.

Chaos. Disorder, unhappiness, constant battles. When the negativity starts swirling around us, no matter how hard we try to get out of the storm, the tornado flying around us, everything just gets worse. We try this thing, that way to fix the problems. We just dig ourselves in deeper. The best thing to do is stop, right in the middle of the storm. See, the center of the storm is calmer. The middle of the tornado, the eye, is where it is quiet. We can think. We can make decisions. We slow down the pace instead of speeding it up. See, we in our magnificent human wisdom always believe fast is better so when things fail or don’t go right the first time, when we try something else, we don’t take the time to think it through, to as the old saying goes, haste makes waste. We end with disorder, then illness, then we are hopelessly in the trenches. The good news is that there is new possibilities, new joys as we stop, take inventory of what is our part in the chaos. Remove ourselves from the chaos ( this does not mean give up the dream ) see the problem as a 3rd party observer, then find a healthy happy both physical and emotional balance. What if, why not,but .... There are plenty of reasons to NOT do something. If fact, every day we can think of several good reasons to stay in bed. Yet we don't because there is such a whole wonderful marvelous world to explore, to learn, to even find the paths we need to reach the other worlds as well. Living a spiritual life we find that even more amazing things happen. In my old apartment,the maintenance worker was fixing a broken pipe under my sink. His eyes huge, he came outside where I was answering emails on the patio. There is an old man in the kitchen. He just appeared there. I said, that he just wanted to make sure that Jeff was fixing the sink right. He shook his head, but went back to the offices saying that it was scary at my house. So everyday when we acknowledge that there is something more than just us! we can know that we can relax as someone else has our back. So many times our worries are about what if he/she doesn't come back, we will be alone. We are never truly alone. There are always whatever we like to call them, spirits guides, angels, energies that are right there. This is where we should plant our dreams. Tell the love ones who gather around us our needs, our desires, our wants. Decide exactly what we want, believe that we will have it. Thank the universe, Great Spirit as we will have it.
animal totems: Toad: Toad hopped out at Bob today. Right up to him. Wondering what message he could have for my 12 year old Boston Terrier, I researched message. His messages is one of using our own inner talents. Toads are associated with success. Their message is saying even if things are bad now, it will get better. Bob hates for me to go on trips. So this tells him I"ll be back. Toad symbolized the Moon. May 5th is the full moon so he is reminding us to dance with celebrations of the good things to come.
Well, I'm off to the airport. Once on plane, I will be spending the time there on answering all 2 for 2s, all emails, preparing lessons for students. I will be taking calls sometime today.
