A New Day, A New Moon
The energy gathering around a new moon and subsequent waxing moon can help you in so many ways.  It's a great time to expand business plans, to plant bulbs (inside or out depending on weather), to start a new hobby, or to deepen your love affair with your significant other.  It's a time of growth and expansion, a time for children to shoot up like weeds LOL and for new ideas to grow and develop.  I'm still deciding on what to do on a personal level.  Certainly my husband and I are in planting mode right now but I'm thinking that with the cast coming off my foot on Tuesday that it will be a growth towards health again - I'll get to do lots of walking and I have a new bike to try through the hills of my town.  So that's it... growth of health over the next bit for me.  What's on the plate for you?  :)  Blessings, Gwendolyne Gaylle

Forgive & Forget. Yes This Means YOU.
It's an old expression, that. Forgive and forget. But how many of us can actually do it? Here are some thoughts that might help you take that step... 1. Chronic anger is linked to decreased lung function, heart disease, stroke and other ailments 2. The bitterness that comes from long-term anger can contribute to depression 3. Forgiveness will decrease your anxiety, lower your blood pressure - benefits which increase actually, as we get older.  I guess the big questions is who does it serve? If you're holding anger against someone for a past wrong, then you need to understand that THEY are still controlling YOU. And that's a position you want to remove yourself from. If your ex cheated on you and moved out with the neighbour next door, would you still allow him or her the remotes to your tv so that you had to watch whatever they decided on the other side of the fence? Absolutely not. So it works the same with emotions. Forgive all the 'thems' out there. Do whatever it takes to allow that. Maybe you just have to say to yourself "ok, they're stupid so I have to forgive them because they REALLY had a brain-fart" or "ok, I forgive them and they don't know it, but I do. And I'm the bigger person because I DID forgive them". Then move on. Seriously... who wants to continue to rehash old stuff. That means you don't get to talk about the old hurt anymore, you don't get to even think about it. When it pops into your mind like a pink elephant, remind yourself "It's ok... I forgave her for that already. I wonder what I should wear tomorrow". Give yourself a hug every time you do this :) Gwendolyne Gaylle

Who do You Want to Win Idol?
I had to laugh tonight.  While there were a number of Advisors available on Keen during American Idol, my assertion, with completely zero statistics to support it, is that a lot of Advisors and clients were watching Idol tonight LOL.  Where do I get this idea from?  10:00 pm.... Idol is over, and bam! tons of Advisors come on line LOL.  Like clockwork... every Wednesday LOL.

I think we were all having a fine time getting our music fix on tonight.  In my household, we missed the first few minutes so even my husband is insisting that at 11:00 pm when the west feed comes on satellite, we have to see Holly sing her first song.

Ah, the sound of music. The endorphins are flowing.

If you have the opportunity in your community, consider joining a choir or chorus.  Some are very competitive and require auditions, and some don't really sweat it too much if you can't carry a tune in a bucket.  And usually the costs for this kind of 'sport' are very minimal - especially compared to many other activities.

The pluses are enormous.  New-found friends to gossip with on the risers, choreo to learn maybe (good for the body), memorization of songs (all good for the brain) and the sheer joy of singing with a large group.  I guarantee, no matter how tired you are going out to sing on choir night, you'll finish the practice thoroughly enervated, with an ear-worm that carries you home and into the next day.

Studies have shown that singing releases endorphins and seratonin into your body.  Endorphins are super pain-killers (about three times stronger than you could take over the counter) and seratonins make you feel good - sort of like chocolate without the calories LOL.

Get out there and sing people!   You'll love it!

Who Controls Your Life?
Sometimes we forget just how precious life is... especially OUR life.  We blow this way and that... sometimes because we wish to please people...sometimes because we wish to avoid the pain of ridicule... sometimes because we don't want to be shunned from the person or group we wish to be with and sometimes because we just don't know how to stand up for ourselves.

What the hey...we know why we do it, but do we realize the toll it takes on self?  Probably not.

So here's the thing.  We simply must get back to feeding our own selves, feeding our soul and our self-worth.  Endeavour to understand what makes others wish to demand that we comply and if it doesn't meet with our own needs, then gently and with love move in a different direction.  Meet your own needs so you have the reserves to give back or move forward.

Give yourself love just as unconditionally you would your child.  And you'll be just fine :)

The Waning Moon... It's a Fine Time to Discard Bad Habits
This is late... should have sent it out when the moon started waning, but anyway....  LOL   Now's a fine time to think about discarding any bad habits you have... over indulgence in alcohol or food, biting your nails, or smoking to name a few.  It's also a great time to clear out the clutter in at least one room.  Why not some of those catch-all kitchen drawers.  A small enough job that isn't crazy daunting.  It's a great time to stop doing something you've tried for a while... like saying 'yes' all the time and getting over your head in commitments.  Or maybe, on a serious note, it's time to set aside old rage about an old relationship.

Time to clean up and move on :)     Ready for spring!
Blessings,

Questioning the Tarot about WHEN!
One of the most common questions from clients is about timing.  They want to know a date in the wildest way.  Sometimes as a reader, if certain cards come up it's fairly easy to do.  Sometimes, though, nothing really comes up to say timing.  Remember, as Tarot readers, we rely on the cards to guide us. So if they tell us, they do, and if they don't, they don't.  And there's not a card in the deck for Monday, or for 'by the weekend'.  LOL   They're just not labelled that way :)

Here are some obvious cards that can tell you something about timing - especially when considered within the context of where they're placed around other cards in the layout.

Eight of Wands - can indicate speed - so right side up, sooner than later and reversed, not so much
The Sun - besides the usual meaning can indicate summer, or daytime instead of night and reversed, the opposite
Five of Pentacles - can indicate winter, and reversed, after winter
Knights - have a look at the horse... is it moving?  stagnent?  racing?  to the issue or away?
Three of Cups - can indicate harvest time - fall
Ten of Wands -can signal a long way off

Just remember, don't beat up the cards for specific dates.  Daydoonlikethat :)

Whaaats up for Health?
Here's a self-reading on my health that was both easy to read and clear as day.  What came up was King of Swords, Ace of Cups and Nine of Swords reversed.

Here's what's been going on lately for me.  I just recently underwent foot surgery (6 days ago actually) and I've been rebounding at breakneck speed - only two days on painkillers, moving from crutches to cane to nothin' within the first five days.  So while I'll have to put up with the cast for a bit, life is good.

Back to the reading... King... yes, now is a time have a head's up - here's a transformation happening and I do have to be careful (at the very least not to trip for a few weeks LOL) I've been in pain since October but wanted to wait until after my February vacation to get it done.  Once the cast is off in 3 weeks, I'll be able to walk with comfort which will be a blessing because I love to walk.  This is the Ace - new fresh beginnings - a new chance for movement and freedom in all that I do physically - walking, biking and golf (I'm a walker, not a carter).  And I'm happy, happy, happy.  Then the Nine reversed.  The time for worrying and fretting is behind me.  It will be as if it didn't happen in the first place.

Yippee!

Top 10 Tarot Cards You HATE to See in a LOVE Reading
If you have a Tarot reading about a love relationship and these cards come up, you're probably not going to be pleased. Remember, however, that the energy they show can usually be overcome - a reading is just about the energy a the time of the reading. Many times, if YOU can change something to impact the dynamics of the situation, the outcome of the reading will change as well. Meanwhile... here's the offenders: 1. Ten of Swords - yikes - it signals an ending (although there is a beginning in the distance) 2. Tower - disarray, a falling out 3. Three of Swords - heartache, tears 4. Three of Cups reversed - no celebration here 5. Five of Swords - fighting, bickering 6. Death - a major change to the relationship (now of course if things are going badly, this may signal a change for the better as well) 7. Two of Cups reversed - pretty obvious 8. Five of Pentacles - a feeling of being out in the cold, frozen out 9. Four of Wands reversed - your family breaking down, transition out of the home 10. Lovers reversed - pretty obvious too There are issues of course, with any cup suit reversed - love flowing out, obstructions and hindrances to love staying or starting. And it's always good to remember that the placement of the cards within a spread will be impacted by the cards surrounding as well. Interpretation is key here and a good intuitive reader will do that for you. In any case, my wish for all of you is to be able to avoid having these dratted cards come up in any love reading you have. Blessings, Gwendolyne Gaylle

Top 10 Tarot Cards You WANT to See in a Reading about LOVE
I'd had a mind to put this up in a Recorded Listing, but since Keen seems to be having an issue with that portion of the website here you go. If you're looking for love in your life, these are the cards you'd love to turn up in a reading. So, even if you don't know tarot, feel free to ask the reader you employ to tell you if any of these cards show up in your next love reading. Enjoy :) 1. The Lovers - obviously LOL 2. Two of Cups - also obviously :) - two people looking at each other, passing love between them 3. Ten of Cups - perfect happiness, perfect family love 4. Four of Wands - connotations of wedding celebrations 5. Ten of Pentacles - great material success (at least you won't be fighting over money, the #1 cause of fights between couples LOL) 6. Ace of Cups - beginnings of love 7. Knight of Cups - oooo.... THIS is the guy you're waiting for - he has lots of love in his heart 8. Empress - growth, progress & fruition (and yes, in some instances pregnancy) 9. Emperor - the corresponding person to the Empress - he's the 'Mars' to her 'Venus' 10. Hierophant - he or she is the person presiding at your wedding, or simply the institution or formalization of your union The above quickie meanings are simply that. Quickies. Of course there are so many other interpretations as well as taking into account of where the card placements are. Also, you WANT to see these upright as opposed to reversed. Stuff 'n Such at the Hair Salon
Got my hair cut today - it was getting a little too long.   While I love having long hair (and be envious because it's a great natural blonde colour LOL) there's a certain age when a woman just can't carry it off  unless she's in the shape of Elle McPherson and walking the red carpet.   I'm a certain age :), certainly NOT in the shape of Elle, and am unlikely to ever walk a red carpet.   So, I had a pleasant morning appointment and came out feeling it was a tad too short.  It'll grow, so I'm not stressing out about it.  Now it occurred to me that the real reason I came out so relaxed was because I'd been surrounded by women.  I LOVE women.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm into my husband, but the energy of women always brings me up.  In one of my hobbies I direct a group of about 44 women singers.  I leave those practice sessions on Monday nights high, high, high.  All of the sports I play (golf, bowling) are with women.   I enjoy the banter, the sharing, the love and the support.   So it was no surprise that even with a shorter shave than I'd expected today, I was stress free.  Being in the company of women who were chatting about their lives, their families and their extended families was just about the best energy I could have set myself up for the rest of the day.   Tomorrow, I'm participating in our local International Women's Day Expo.  I expect by tomorrow night I'll be even higher :)

Surround yourself with some wonderful positive women and BE a wonderful positive woman in and around all those you touch.

Blessings,
Gwendolyne Gaylle

List, List, List... for Love
So, you're looking for love?   You probably have some idea of who you're looking for but here's the thing.   I'll bet you don't have more than 8 items on your list, so I thought I'd help you out with some specifics.  I certainly don't know exactly what you already on your list but I can help by giving you a longer list.  The crux of the matter is that the more specific you can be building the ideal mate, the more likely you're likely to meet him or her.  And you'll know EXACTLY who to look for, like radar, honing in because you KNOW WHAT you're looking for.  Build a picture in your mind of who he or she is, what they look like, they way they move, the way they touch you, what their friends are like, the kind of work they do, what kind of things they do in their recreational time, what their financial goals are, what kind of family they want, etc.   You'll never settle again.  I promise!

Now here's the list... the first ones are probably already on your own mental list but keep going:
  1. height range
  2. weight range
  3. fitness level
  4. age range
  5. hair colour
  6. eye colour
  7. jawline style
  8. current career
  9. financial style
  10. career goals
  11. material assets
  12. style of talking
  13. introvert/extrovert
  14. style of moving
  15. creature of habit
  16. spontaneity
  17. vehicle style/driving style
  18. reader/non-reader
  19. touchy-feeley or 'Spock'-like
  20. visual/audial/kinesthetic
  21. recreation likes
  22. TV likes
  23. sleep style
  24. morning/evening person
  25. impulse control
  26. addictions
  27. friends
  28. personal hygiene habits
  29. food likes/dislikes
  30. their mom's style
  31. their dad's style
  32. length of marriage of parents
  33. committment for long-term
  34. wish for children
  35. when to start family
  36. tipping style
  37. crankiness level when plans upset

  40. volunteering habits/history

All the best in your search.

THIS Will Be A Fantastic Night!
Not only are we coming up to a full moon early tomorrow morning, so it alone will be spectacular, the solar storms on the sun are at a peak (last time they were this active was 5 years ago). So... while this may interfere with your electronic gadgets a little, don't be dismayed because.... the Aurora Borealis will be putting on a display that you'll want to catch if you're in the Northern Hemisphere. Where I am, way north in Canada, it means a fun night of sky watching - and thank goodness spring-like temperatures have blossomed lately :) Hope YOU have a fun time watching. If you'd like a little more information, here's an easy link http://www.softservenews.com/Aurora.htm but of course you can just Google any information you need. Blessings, Gwendolyne Gaylle

Stuff & Junk on the Job Situation
I had a conversation with someone on the golf course yesterday which only highlighted the great divide between haves and have-nots in America.  The conversation started around the reason for a certain golf course's restaurant not being open in the evenings and the reason why this was.  Turns out, the reason was because the restaurant couldn't get enough staff to run.

My golf cart-mate was outraged and had comments such as:
  1. I can't believe with all the people out of work that they can't get staff
  2. People are just lazy
  3. If all those 'occupyers' would just get off their butts and get to work, they'd have nothing to complain about.

My concern about this kind of thinking is the lack of real understanding, and even more, the complete dis-interest in understanding.

Here's my take on the situation...

  1. Kitchen staff and servers don't make tons of money ergo...
  2. They may likely not have a car
  3. There's no public transit in the city, and even if there was, there'd still be a heck of a hike to the golf course on foot for a part-time job.

I believe that for the most part people are honest, they want to work, they want to provide for their families, they do not want to be leaches on the government tab, and they want to be the best they can be.   My heart goes out to all the folks out of work in this economy.  My heart also goes out to those subsisting on minimum wages.  The difficulty of trying to live on minimum wage is not imaginable by those who feel that those in financial/work difficulty are simply lazy.

Sigh.

I wish everyone.... EVERYONE.... would exercise their empathy muscles more.

Thanks for listening to my 'two cents' rant.

Blessings,   Gwendolyne Gaylle

Whitney Houston... 5 of Cups
I was moved to my Tarot deck today after hearing about the death of Whitney Houston last night.  What a loss to the music world.  The Five of Cups popped out and how appropriate.  Although we haven't yet heard about what was the official cause of her death, this card speaks to a focus on what has been lost, almost to exclusion of the wonderful things behind.   So I feel that Whitney was so obsessed about what she'd lost in her life... her beautiful voice and the ability to hold us in thrall with it anymore, that she completely lost that which she already had established... her loving relationship with her family, and the love she had from all her fans for what she'd ALREADY accomplished in the musical world.  I fear what we may hear on the news tomorrow, but suspect that she had fallen into such despair over what she lost that she did indeed feel that there was not much to live for.  What a shame.  What a loss for us.  Please join me in sending your best wishes and feelings towards her family.

Blessings,
Gwendolyne Gaylle
