Don't Quit

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit...

Rest if you must--but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped
down,How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems afar.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things go wrong
That you mustn't quit.

Hope Makes A Difference

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

Hope looks for the good in people instead of harping on
the worst in them.

Hope opens doors where despair closes them.

Hope discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about
what cannot be done.

Hope draws its power from a deep trust in God and the basic
goodness of mankind.

Hope "lights a candle" instead of "cursing the darkness."

Hope regards problems, small or large, as opportunities.

Hope cherishes no illusions, nor does it yield to cynicism.

Change is Inevitable

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

There in nothing in this world that stays constant.
Everything is changing.

The attitude that you choose to
take toward this ever-changing nature of life and how well
you learn to let go of the past and move on, has a huge
impact on your health and well-being.

You can be frustrated by what you believe has been lost,
and feel pained and depressed about it.

You can spend a
lifetime grieving over an unsatisfactory childhood, a
missed chance, or a relationship that went wrong. Or you
can rejoice in the unending gift that life offers, the gift
of perpetual opportunities.

By savouring change as an inevitable and delicious part of
life, you will always have enough. Every moment on this
wonderful earth will bring some new delight.

Faith

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

THE STARTING POINT OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT IS
FAITH IN SELF.

Faith is nothing more nor less than the operation of the thought forces in the form of an earnest desire, coupled with exepectation as to its fulfilment.

FAITH, AS YOU CAN SEE, IS MORE THAN "BELIEF". IT ANTICIPATES FULFILMENT.

When we come into the realisation of our being we come into a recognition of our worthiness for achievement. We develop faith in the attainment of our ambitions.Such is the power that propels us
to great heights of individual achievement.

SUCH IS THE POWER SOURCE THET NEVER FAILS.
BELIEVE AND SUCCEED.

HAVE FAITH AND YOU CANNOT FAIL.

These Are My Wishes For You

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

May you find serenity and tranquility
in a world you may not always understand.

May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.

May a kind word,
a reassuring touch,
and a warm smile
be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.

May the teachings of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than its form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.

Find time in each day to see beauty and love
in the world around you.

Realize that what you feel you lack in one regard
you may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.

May you see your future as one filled with promise
and possibility.

Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent
on another's judgment of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.

Encouragement

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

The easiest way to build your own self-esteem and self-image
is to help and encourage others. By lifting others up and
helping them to achieve their dreams, we are then made more
secure in every aspect of our lives.

There are those who would rather put others down, wrongly
thinking that they are then made more secure in their place
in life. You know the types. The unthinking supervisor who
won't recognize a subordinates ideas, the friend who always
belittles you in front of others.

Successful people know that with an encouraging attitude, their
place in life is made much more wholesome and rewards flow back
many times over. The simple gift of appreciation from someone
that you help will boost your self-esteem and increase your
happiness.

And here is the good news, it doesn't matter what your status is
in life, when you adopt the attitude of an encourager, you are
an instant success.

Why not start today and become an encourager?

Affirmations

An affirmation is a positive declaration that something is
"already so".
It is a thought that is constructed deliberately to place in your consciousness to produce a desired result. The purpose for an
affirmation is to "replace" negative self talk with positive self
talk.

An affirmation is a "Seed" to a New Beginning.
Here are your "Seeds".
It is up to you if they grow.

*The past does not equal the future. Today is better than the past
and the future will be better than today.

* I have a positive expectancy of achieving big goals, and I work

* Problems are challenges for me. I love challenges because
challenges inspire and expand me.

* I always enjoy learning from every emotional experiences that I
have just gone through.

Self Talk

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

How do you talk to yourself? Let's put it this way, if
you talked to your friends the same way as you talk to
yourself, how many friends would you have?

Yes it does matter how you converse with yourself just as
much as when you converse with your friends, family,
relatives, children or whoever. If you grumble about
everything do you think your friends would hang about with
you for long? If you complain to your children and call
them fools or idiots every time they did something wrong,
no matter how small, how do you think their self-esteem
would fare?

We are what we think, so if you are always down on yourself
for little blunders, cut it out and give yourself a break.
You can use positive self talk just as easily as you can
negative, so instead of calling yourself a fool or an idiot,
say I just learned something new, what an opportunity, and
you will think your way to a much happier life.

When you think of yourself in the negative, isn't it so
seemingly accurate?

Turn that talk to positive and you will be amazed how true
your thoughts will be.

Cycle of Evil

There was once a king who was so cruel and unjust that his
subjects yearned for his death or dethronement.

However, one day he surprised them all by announcing that he
had decided to turn over a new leaf.

"No more cruelty, no more injustice," he promised, and he was
as good as his word. He became known as the 'Gentle Monarch'.
Months after his transformation one of his ministers plucked up
enough courage to ask him what had brought about his change of
heart, and the king answered:

"As I was galloping through my forests I caught sight of a fox
being chased by a hound. The fox escaped into his hole but not
before the hound had bitten into its leg and lamed it for life.
Later I rode into a village and saw the same hound there. It was
barking at a man. Even as I watched, the man picked up a huge
stone and flung it at the dog, breaking its leg. The man had not
gone far when he was kicked by a horse. His knee was shattered
and he fell to the ground, disabled for life. The horse began to
run but it fell into a hole and broke its leg. Reflecting on all
that had happened, I thought: 'Evil begets evil. If I continue in
my evil ways, I will surely be overtaken by evil'. So I decided to
change".

The minister went away convinced that the time was ripe to
overthrow the king and seize the throne. Immersed in thought, he
did not see the steps in front of him and fell, breaking his neck.

Everybody Was Sure

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure
Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody
did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's
job.

Everybody thought Anybody could do it,
but Nobody realized that Everybody would not do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed
Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

The Waste in Worry

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

If we were to keep a record of all the things we worried
about during a given period of time, we would discover,
in reviewing them, that the great majority of our
anticipated problems or troubles never come to pass. This
means that most of the time we devote to worrying, even
the constructive kind that prompts us to try to come up
with a solution to what is troubling us, is wasted. Thus,
we not only caused ourselves unnecessary mental anguish,
but also took up valuable minutes and hours that could
have been spent elsewhere.

To avoid this, it is often necessary to subject potential
sources of worry to the coldly objective and analytical
light of reason. Once, sortly before a major concert before
a standing-room-only audience, a member of Arturo
Toscanini's orchestra approached the great Italian conductor
with an expression of sheer terror on his face. "Maestro,"
the musician fretted, "my instrument is not working properly.
I cannot reach the note of E-flat. Whatever will I do? We
are to begin in a few moments."

Toscanini looked at the man with utter amazement. Then he
smiled kindly and placed an arm around his shoulders. "My
friend," the maestro replied, "Do not worry about it. The
note E-flat does not appear anywhere in the music that you
will be playing this evening."

The next time we find ourselves in the middle of worrying
about some matter, we might be wise to stop and ask
ourselves what the odds are of the problem really coming to
pass. We may be able to go on to something more
constructive.

Letting Go

Spiritual Mentors | Services | Private Sessions | Free Newsletter | Book an Appointment

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...

To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more.

Being a work in progress is great because...

"When you're a Work in Progress you don't have to have the
answers to tomorrow's questions today!" ~ Donna Doyon
Top Ten Reasons to be a Work in Progress

    1. You can relax and enjoy your life more if you don't
expect yourself to have all the skills, knowledge,
and wisdom to carry you forward into the future.

       2. You can open your life to new opportunities and
          adventures.

       3. You can be honest about what you've yet to learn,
and appreciate what you already know.

       4. You can actively seek out teachers and role models
without worrying about what others will think.

       5. You can stop defending or making excuses for your "bad"
habits, while occasionally or always working to transform
          your behavior into "good" habits.

       6. You can see that the people around you are "Works in
          Progress," too.

       7. You can begin each day with a clean slate or sense of
          purpose.

       8. You can see endless possibilities before you.

       9. You can approach life with the enthusiasm and energy of
          a young child.

      10. You can continually reinvent yourself based on
present day circumstances, values, and opportunities.

Improve your health along with those around you

"Healing Hugs"

One of the ways to improve health...
Hugging is a miracle medicine that can relieve many physical and
emotional problems. Physicians often tell their patients to use
hugging as part of their treatment for pain. To be held can be
enormously therapeutic.

Researchers have discovered that hugging can help you live longer,
protect against illness, cure depression and stress, strengthen
family relationships, and even help you sleep without pills.

They have discovered that when a person is touched, the amount of
hemoglobin in their blood increases significantly. Hemoglobin is
the part of the blood that carries vital supplies of oxygen to all
organs of the body, including the heart and the brain. An increase in
hemoglobin tones up the whole body, helps prevent disease, and speeds
recovery from illness.

Many psychiatrists are convinced that the tender embrace can prevent
or cure a host of different problems. Hugs can have an astonishing
therapeutic effect by providing a sense of companionship and
happiness.

Studies have shown that people who are mentally run-down and
depressed are far more prone to sickness than those who are not.
Hugging can lift depression, enabling the body's immune system to
become "tuned up."

Hugging breathes fresh life into a tired body and makes you feel
younger and more vibrant. Hug your spouse, your children, friends,
and relatives. The strong embrace of a friend whenever you meet is
just as beneficial. It's a marvelous way to improve the quality of
your life.

The Bear Hug:
Use both arms, face your partner, and perform a full embrace.
The best medical advice is four hugs a day
one at breakfast, lunch,
dinner, and bedtime.
