Little White Witch - Life Styles, tips and living

Enlightenment through the adventure of life.. White Witch here! This is where I share my life style, my beliefs, and discoveries . . . I hope you will interact with me on my journey . . . ask me questions and join me in sacred circles.

Destiny Rules
Maybe we were together in another life
Maybe we are together in a parallel universe
Maybe our paths are not supposed to cross twice
Maybe your arms are not supposed to go around me

I hear about you now and then
I wonder where you are and how you feel
Sometimes I walk by and I look up to your balcony
Just to make sure that you were real
Just to make sure that I can still feel you

When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together,
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...

Six weeks in a foreign country, how the time flew
I didn't speak the language, but somehow I knew
That that would be the only time that we could be alone and foolish
We said we'd never come home

When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together,
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...

I like the coastal cities, I like the lights
I like the way the city blends into the ocean at night
It's like living on a working river; the coastline is glittering
Like a diamond snake in a black sky

When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together,
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...

Just following the rules... no one's a fool
Just following the rules... no one's a fool
Just following the rules... no one's a fool
No one's a fool...

Saint Zita! I've Lost my Keys!

Zita was born in the 1200's to a poor family.

She served a family all her life as their handmaiden.

"At first, her employers were upset by her generous gifts of food to the poor, but in time, they were completely won over by her patience and goodness and she became a very close friend. St. Zita was given a free reign over her working schedule and busied herself with visits to the sick and those in prison. Word spread rapidly in Lucca of her good deeds and the heavenly visions that appeared to her. She was sought out by the important people, and at her death in 1278 the people acclaimed her as a saint. She is the patroness of domestic workers. Her feast day is April 27." (http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=582)

She died in 1272.  Her body was exhumed in 1580 and found to be in-corrupt!  Since then her body has become mummified.

Zia considered her employment to be a source of penance.

As a humble servant, Zia doesn't require much devoting.  Just paying it forward by helping others.

If you have lost your keys, you can chant ...

Zita, Zita
I've lost my keys
Look around please
And bring it to me.

Communication .... little white witch

What does it mean when someone ask you a question? It usually means that they want an answer to their inquiry. But not always!

For example, let's say that a parent is approached by a child.  The child has asked a question.  The parent proudly knows the answer and deep inside revels in the satisfaction that they do have the answer.  But before the parent can get the words of the answer out of their mouth ... they are interrupted ... repeatedly by the child ....

What is going on here??

Well ... some under developed individuals or parents ... may get angry ... speak a little louder ... blood pressure rises ... the ego is totally insulted by the lack of respect ... and the next thing ... the individual asking the question is being abused, whether physically or verbally.

What is going on here???

It is a battle of the egos!

The child is investigating a challenge, but wants to truly discover it on their own.  What they really want is "GUIDANCE."  Not necessarily the answer ... they NEED to find the answer on their own ... to think it through ... but they have come to a block.  What they REALLY are asking for is help over the obstacle in the thinking process ... not a full blown solution to the problem.  So they interrupt.  Your going too fast for them ... they need to process it slower.

But the parent who has the solution ... and the pride of that knowledge ... is just about bursting at the seams to show forth the knowledge held within the ego.  Yes, it is a volcano!

If the volcano is interrupted repeatedly, without a release ... it just might blow.  So how mature of an adult or parent does the child have.

Another way of looking at this is simply two people having a conversation.  One asking the other a question ... but interrupting the individual who is providing the answer.  Same issue ... it happens all the time ... interruption is such an irritating habit ... I have done it myself ... we have all done it!

If you find yourself in this situation as the person who is repeatedly interrupted when someone has sought you out for advice ... do your best to recognize that what is building up inside of you ... that feeling that your about to explode ... is your pride and ego ... wanting to show off!!  It has NOTHING to do with respect.

Show respect for yourself, by controlling your ego ... if you fail ... know that one thing is constant in this mortality.  "Every failed experience, will REPEAT itself!"  There will be another opportunity to get it right the next time.

Raising teenagers is a extremely trying time in life.

Think of a stop light ... there are three colors.  RED, YELLOW and GREEN.  When someone has approached you with a question and they interrupt ... and your blood pressure starts rising, your breathing get's excited ... and your about to explode ...

Visualize the Stop Light ...

RED ... STOP!

YELLOW ....  Breathe!  This is where the magic is performed ....

Let air back into the conversation.  Let there be a moment of silence ... at least to the count of three .... calm down ... try to feel the vibration and get in-sync with the vibration of the surrounding environment ... step back.

When all has slowed down and gotten quiet ... and this might be a while ... as the individual with the inquiry ... may actually be rambling on ... and on ... coming up with all kind of possibilities ... but the one you want to suggest ....

When they have finally quieted down ... and you have too ... think about what they were rambling on about .... what was it that they were really asking?  Then when the vibration level seems appropriate ... smooth ... not all jagged ... or fast breathing and panting ... or panic ....

Proceed with GREEN!

This does not mean, "BLAST AWAY!"  If you have the desire to blast away they individual ... then you need to remain in YELLOW light a bit longer ... GREEN light means that you are ready to ....

EMPATHIZE What is that???   This is where the magic is displayed!

Empathize is where you truly can see their challenge, situation and problem from their point of view ... You can get into their head, see all the obstacles ... and help DIRECT them out of the blockage ....

You are actually helping!  You are actually performing MAGIC!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I will be online this weekend.

Woman Sufffrage ~ 19th Ammendment ... Elizabeth Stanton
The 19th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America was a long, long battle ... Even though the founding fathers ... were protective, caring and hard working men ...
women had their place.

This is Elizabeth ...

When I asked my professor why it was such a big struggle for women to have an equality in society, he explained that it was actually the single men who were against equal rights for women, than the married men.  Married men actually were for the equality, as this would give them double voting power.

Elizabeth was born in New York, she was well educated for her time.  She met Henry Stanton through her early involvement in the temperance and abolition movements.  The temperance movement was an organized effort to fight against the consumption of intoxicating liquors.  And the abolition movement was to end the slave trade and emancipate slaves in western Europe and the Americas.

Henry Stanton was an acquaintance of Elizabeth's cousin ... Gerrit Smith ... who was an abolitionist and member of the "Secret Six."

The Secret Six ... were six wealthy and influential men who secretly funded the American abolitionist movement ... unfortunately, one of their members who was John Brown actually turned out to be a psycho path who murdered a white family just so he could inflame the community about slavery ...  and raided Harpers Ferry.  John Brown is a whole other blog ... back to our sweet Elizabeth Stanton.

Understand that Henry was not a member of the "secret six."  He was acquainted with a Elizabeth's cousin who was a member of the secret six .... Now whether or not Elizabeth had knowledge of the Secret six ... we don't know ...

Henry was a journalist, and an antislavery orator, and after his marriage to Elizabeth, an attorney.  They had seven (7) children.

There were disagreement between the couple about woman's suffrage, but the marriage lasted until Henry died, 47 years.

While the young couple were on their honeymoon in London, England, Elizabeth made a friend named Lucretia Mott

Lucretia was a Quaker minister, feminist, and abolitionist.  The two women met at the International Anti-Slavery Convention that was being held in London.  Apparently Henry was doing business and pleasure together during the honeymoon ... but then this was also Elizabeth's passion too ....

Elizabeth and Lucretia became fast friends.  When the time for the convention arrived there was a skirmish about whether or not women could join the convention.  The male delegates voted that the women should be seated in a roped-off section hidden from the view of the male delegates.

I guess the women were too distracting for them to carry on with their business.  You know men ... they think about sex every ... what is it ... 30 seconds!  lol!  Now remember ... women are not allowed to vote during this period of earthly mortality ...

I can imagine the thoughts that were going through these women's minds ... but they went to their assigned section ... and a couple of gentlemen went with them ... I question whether or not it was for the cause or if they just preferred the company of some beautiful women, in exchange for the boring convention ...

Whatever the reason, the ladies were joined by the prominent abolitionist, William Lloyd Garrison, who sat with them to protest their second-class treatment at the convention.

When the couple returned from their honeymoon, Henry joined a Boston Law Firm and the couple socialized with the likes of Frederick Douglas, William Lloyd Garrison, Lousia May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Eventually the couple moved from Boston to Seneca Falls, New York.  Elizabeth became involved with women's rights.  Her friendship with Lucretia solidified and grew and began to include other women in the Seneca Falls area.  Their circle of women friendships grew to the point that they organized America's first women's rights convention!  The year was 1848.

Over 300 people attended, including Frederick Douglass,  This is where Elizabeth performs a famous speech, "A Declaration of Sentiments" proclaiming that men and women are created equal and that women should be allowed to vote.

In 1851, Elizabeth was introduced to Susan B. Anthony.  The two women joined forces in the temperance movement, but soon they shifted their energies to female suffrage and women's rights.

As a single woman, Susan had the time and energy to do much of the speaking and traveling that Elizabeth was unable to do with so many children at home.  Their skills complimented each other.

Elizabeth was an outstanding writer, and scripted many of Susan's speeches.  Susan was the movement's organizer and tactician.  The girls worked together as a team.  In a famous tribute to Elizabeth at her funeral Susan said that Elizabeth "forged the thunderbolts" while she, Susan, was only the instrument to "fire" the shot.

Of course there were times of discord.  While their relationship was strained at times by their opposing viewpoints, the two women's friendship lasted over 50 years after their initial meeting.

All the work that Elizabeth did on our behalf as women and our right to vote ... The 19th Amendment was not ratified until 1920.  Elizabeth died in 1902.  Before women's issues were taken seriously ... the following amendments were ratified first ...

#13 - Slavery was abolished, 1864
#14 - Citizenship rights were established, 1868
#15 - Race was no longer a reason to bar men from voting - 1870
#16 - Concerns about Income Tax - 1913
#17 - In house politics about how a Senator is elected by popular vote - 1913
#18-  Prohibition - 1919

All the above amendments had the backing of the women's movement that began in Seneca Falls in 1848 ... but it wasn't until 1920 that women actually won the battle for the right to vote.

In my research I also learned that Elizabeth wrote ...The Woman's Bible, which was published in two volumes. The first volume appeared in 1895 and the second in 1898. I've got to get me a copy of that!!!

It is my hope that was all the women who read this blog will find the importance of their vote in the democratic-republican society that we have earned a right to have our voices heard.  And appreciate the men who vote with us, giving the power to the people, regardless, or race or gender.

Henry the 8th ... and Saint Thomas More ....
From my previous blog ... we learned that ... King Henry had six wives, not eight ...

Now that we have a pretty good understand of Henry VIII wife situations and how things got started ... what were some of the other under tones going on ....?

I love this stuff!

OK, so we know that Henry VIII ascended the throne in 1509, that he married Catherine of Aragon, widow of his brother Arthur, just before his coronation.

Unlike his father Henry VII, who was secretive and conservative, the young Henry was social and religious.

Before his change of heart  ... Henry VIII heard and attended up to five Catholic masses a day ... except during the hunting season.  Five times a day!!!  This guy was a very devout Catholic ....He had his own private spiritual advisor, Lord Chancellor, Thomas Wolsey ... He figured that as long as he had Wolsey's ear, his Catholicism and there for his salvation was secure.  He had a strong faith and testimony in his religion.

Back then Church and State were not separate ... The Roman Catholic Church held all the power.  The Catholic Cathedrals were gorgeously ornamented.  The Catholic Church received their money by selling indulgences.  In other words, if you sinned ... it cost you some money ... then you were good ... So the Church accumulated a lot of wealth ... and with that wealth came power.

Back to King Henry VIII ... So giving up his Catholic membership was not as easy as we think!

In 1521, while he was still married to Catherine of Aragon King Henry VIII defended the Catholic Church against Martin Luther's new teaching.  Remember Martin Luther?  He was the guy who posted the Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the All Saints Church in 1517.

Supposedly King Henry VIII wrote a pamphlet called, "The Defense of the Seven Sacraments."

It is believed that the pamphlet was really the work of Thomas Moore.

Thomas More, also known as Saint Thomas More, was an English lawyer, author, and statesman.  In his lifetime, he gained a reputation as a leading Renaissance humanist scholar, who violently opposed Luther's reformation, and occupied many public offices.

Thomas More entered the King's service as counselor and "personal servant"; and became privy councilor in 1518. Hummm ... nice timing .... (Martin Luther's Ninety Five Theses, 1517)

After undertaking a diplomatic mission to Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, accompanying Thomas Wolsey, Thomas More was knighted and made under-treasure in 1521 .... hummmm wonder what that could have been about???

The pamphlet was dedicated to Pope Leo X, who rewarded Henry with the title "Fidei Defensor," which means, "Defender of the Faith."   This title was revoked following the king's excommunication, but later re-awarded to his heir by the English Parliament.

About the time all this devotion to the Catholic church was going on ... a Beautiful Anne Boleyn arrived at court in 1522.  By the late 1520's Henry wanted to have his marriage to Catherine annulled.

As we will see ... England just had the hardest time with this church and state issue.  Back and forth between protestant and catholic ... depending on who was ruling at the time ... killings were done on both sides .... By the time our founding fathers landed on our Eastern shores ... is it any wonder that they wanted to keep church and state separate for our new nation?

Back to Thomas More ...as secretary and personal advisor to Henry VIII, Thomas More became increasingly influential in the government.  He was recommended by Wolsey to the King to become elected as "Speaker of the House of Commons" in 1523.

Thomas More had become a high ranking politician ... but he was also a hater of the Protestant Reformation ....

He later served as High Steward for the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

In 1525 Thomas More became Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, a position that entailed administrative and judicial control of much of Northern England.

Thomas More coined the work "utopia," a name he gave to the ideal, imaginary island nation whose political system he described in a publication, "Utopia," in 1516.

Thomas More led a movement to protect the Catholic Church by torturing and burning at the stake many Protestants.

So for our King to NOT be Catholic is actually a frightening state of affairs.  Thomas More denies the torture accusations.  But then we also have to take into consideration that King Henry VIII killed around 72,000 people ... I'm sure More had something to do with some of this ...

In 1533 ... both Thomas More and Thomas Wolsey had enemies at court ... including the very attractive and charismatic ... Anne Boleyn.

It doesn't really much matter ... he got too big for his pants ...John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester; and Thomas More were both beheaded in 1535 when they refused to sign the Act of Supremacy that declared King Henry VIII as Supreme Head of the Church of England ....  They had to lose their heads ...

In 1935, four hundred years after More's death, Pope Pius XI canonized him in the Roman Catholic Church.  Thomas More was declared Patron Saint of Politicians and statesmen by Pope John Paul II in 2000.

Well ... that is enough for today ... I will be online today ... please arrange a call if my blue light is not on ....

King Henry the 8th ... had 6 wives ... not 8!

In order to fully understand our constitution, we need to have a solid foundation of where our country came from.  I'm taking a Political Science class and I'm thoroughly enjoying what I'm learning.  I have learned many stories over the years about the various Royalties ... but it was not until this Semester, that it all come together for me.  I would like to share what I have learned ... through the blogs.

So today's lesson is about King Henry VIII.  Understanding how our world society moved away from the Rule of the Roman Catholic Church is the first step to understanding where we are today ...

Henry was born in 1491 he was King of England in 1509 until he died.  This would have made him about 18 years old when he became King ... for the rest of his life.  He was the second monarch from the House of Tudor.  Below you can find the pedigree chart for the House of Tudor.

Even though Henry VIII brutally suppressed the influence of the Protestant Reformation in England, he is more popularly known for his role in the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church.

Henry's struggle with Rome ultimately led to the separation of the Church of England from papal authority, the dissolution of the monasteries, and establishing himself as the Supreme Head of the Church of England.

Henry, however, continued to practice a form of Catholicism throughout his life, even after his excommunication from the Roman Catholic Church; due to the divorce of his first wife and the marriage of his second wife.

Henry's first wife was Queen Catherine of Aragon.  Catherine was originally the wife of Henry's brother Arthur.  But Arthur was a sickly individual and soon died.  Arthur was going to be the next King in line when his father Henry VII died ... but Arthur died before his father, so Henry became king in 1509.

In 1516, Queen Catherine bore Henry his first child to survive infancy, Princess Mary of England.  Henry was 25 year old.  Eventually, Mary becomes Queen.

Henry became impatient with Catherine's ability to produce a male heir.  In 1525, when Henry was 34 years old he became enamored with Anne Boleyn.  Henry had many mistresses, and this was probably why so many of the royal children did not survive infancy, possibly due to sexually transmitted diseases.  One of his mistresses was Mary Boleyn.  Mary Boleyn's sister, Anne Boleyn, had caught the Kings eye ... but she refused to perform without the boundary of Holy Matrimony.  She had ambitions to be Queen, not merely mistress.

Anne at first resisted his attempts to seduce her, and refused to become his mistress.  Henry pursued her relentlessly.  Anne would only yield to his embraces if she could become Queen.

Henry then started down the road to have his marriage to Catherine annulled.

Henry applied to Pope Clement VII of the Roman Catholic Church for an annulment on the bases that Catherine's brief marriage to his sickly brother Arthur had been consummated.  Even though Henry had been married to Catherine for 16 years, produced one female child that survived ... and NOW, he wants to get an annulment, cause he has the hots for Anne ... and she won't give up the goods without getting married ....

Oh, the powers possessed by a woman who knows her worth ....

The problem was that the pope at this time was imprisoned  by EMPEROR Charles V ... who just happened to be Catherine's nephew ... so any decisions to get an annulment would have to be postponed.  In the meanwhile, the chase is still heating up.

Eventually Henry puts Catholic Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in charge of securing his annulment.  There are two guys that Thomas Wolsey is able to help him in performing the assignment to get the King his annulment.

Thomas Cromwell who is a Catholic Chancellor and Thomas Cranmer who is the Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury.

Cromwell and Cranmer gave the King his annulment and permission to marry Anne Boleyn. (wife #2)

Queen Catherine was stripped of her title as Queen and Anne was consequently crowned Queen Consort in 1533.   It took 8 years for things to happen for this affair to become a marriage.   The new Queen Anne gave birth to a premature Elizabeth three months later.  A girl. (Hmmm, seems our Queen Anne did give up the goods before the ceremony ... lol)

When the Pope Clements V got his authority back, he excommunicated the King, Cranmer, and Cromwell.  So the King went about setting up his own church.  The Church of England.

In 1534, a year after his daughter Elizabeth was born, the King insisted that Parliament passed the Ecclesiastical Appointments Act 1534, this required that anyone who worked for the church had to be nominated by the Sovereignty.  How much Cranmer and Cromwell had in this scheme ... I'm sure is somewhere in the history books.

The Act of Supremacy in 1534 declared that the King was "the only Supreme Head in Earth of the Church of England" and then he set up the Treason's' Act 1534 and made it punishable by death if you disagreed!

Time goes by ... Cranmer and Cromwell are not done plotting, they want to get rid of Anne so Henry could marry Jane Seymour.  Eventually enough evidence was concocted and enough people where tortured and arrested to have Queen Anne executed.

In 1537 King Henry then marrys Jane Seymour, two weeks after executing Anne.  (wife #3)  He is 40 years old.  At this time he has two surviving daughters.  One from Catherine of Aragon, and one from Anne Boleyn.  The girls Mary, and Elizabeth are 21 and 4 years old.

That same year, Jane Seymour gave birth to a son.  A sickly little boy named Prince Edward, the future King Edward VI.  The birth was difficult and Queen Jane died from complications during childbirth.

Eventually, King Henry VIII wants to marry again.  So Thomas Cromwell, suggest Anne, the Sister of the Protestant Duke of Cleves. (wife #4) This was seen as an important ally in case of a Roman Catholic attack on England.  There was a painting done so that the king could see what this bride looked like, and he agreed to wed Anne, but after seeing her in real life, he had second thoughts.  Although he did go through with the marriage as promised, he immediately pushed Cromwell to get an annulment.

I'm sure that Anne of Cleves was more than happy to give the King whatever he wanted, as this man was brutal and could have executed her, just because he didn't like the way she looked.  But this was a diplomatic marriage.  The marriage was annulled and Anne was given the title of "The King's Sister."

Cromwell however, had fallen out of favor with the king in his role of arranging the marriage and was beheaded in 1540 for being a poor match maker

On the same day that Cromwell was executed, Henry was in the process of marrying Catherine Howard. (wife #5)  Catherine Howard was Anne Boleyn's first cousin.  These poor Boleyn women must have been something to behold.  The first one was a mistress, the second one an executed wife, and now we have this third Boleyn.  This Boleyn however must have been in love before she was married to the King, as she was caught having an affair and was then executed.

When Henry was 52 years old he married his sixth and last wife, Catherine Par.  Catherine Parr helped Henry reconcile his relationships with his two daughters.  Mary was 27 years old and Elizabeth, 10.  Edward, his only son was 6 years old.

In 1544, an Act of Parliament put the daughters back in the line of succession after Eward, Prince of Wales, though they were still deemed illegitimate.

Henry's cruelty and tyrannical egotism became more apparent as he advanced in years and his health began to fail.  It is hard to believe that this man got worse ...

It is estimated that he had "at least" 72,000 people executed.

Later in life Henry weighted 300 pounds and had numerous health issues.

King Henry the VIII died at the age of 55 in 1547.

I hope you enjoyed your lesson ... There will be more in the near future.

If a guy says ....

If a guy says that he wants to be friends ... this means exactly that ... he wants to be friends.  Nothing more.  It means that he is NOT attracted to you.  For the most part.  What a girl needs to do is get clarification on this word "friends."

When a guy says that he wants to be friends with a girl, clarify what that means as far as the other word that is important .... "attracted."  Does being his friend mean that he is NOT attracted to you in a way that you could be MORE than friends.

This can be very confusing for some women.

If a guy says that he wants to be friends it usually means friends in the same context as his "buddy."  His male friends ... if you have fallen or have been put into the position of "friends." it very well can mean that his is NOT attracted to you.  Can you change this?  Well, maybe ... but it will be about appearance, not personality.   You already having his friendship and loyalty as a "friend" but you missed the part about what a guy means when he says that can NOT be friends.

When a guy says that he can NOT be friends it is because he is attracted to you, and you do NOT fall into the category of buddy .... that is too queer ... it is actually a compliment when a guy says that he does NOT think of you as a friend.  Can you change that?  Do you want to change that?

If you are NOT his friend ... then you are the prey.  And he is the predator.  And a predator LOVES a challenge ... the hardest prey is the most prized possession .... if you get the right covenant and become the possession.  Otherwise .... your just eaten meat!

LOL!

I'm here for you.

If a girl says ...

She just wants to be friends ... it is best to get some clarification on the other word ... "attraction."

If she is attracted to you ... then she wants to be MORE than friends.  But needs to be coy, as she is the prey and you are the predator.

If she is NOT attracted to you, then she really truly can only just be friends.

Can you change that?  Maybe ... with females it is a bit more than just appearance ... it is also about attitude toward her life goals,  boundaries, respect, loyalty ... women usually are very vocal about what they want you to change ... in order for them to be more than just your friend.

So simply listening, and comply to their desires, and you can be successful on catching your prey!

I will be online today.
