 UNDERSTANDING READINGS:

As a professional psychic, one of my most important forums is Keen.  It is a wonderful system and designed to be a leader in its Industry.  It is convenient, and by and large, run with very solid business ethics.  For the subcontractors (aka Advisors), no one can compete with their competence in marketing and forum.  For both Advisor and Client, opportunity is given to select whom you will interact with.  This is a “given”, but it bears mentioning and is frequently taken for granted.  As a veteran to the Industry, I do NOT take it for granted.

Moving forward, in these times of money and saving it being of emphasis, the “rush” of getting a quick fix reading and saving has become popular.  While, all Advisors understand this and attempt to work within these confines, there is only so much that can be done, practically speaking.  Spirit delivers at the speed it delivers, and can vary widely.  Astrological charts take a moment to be pulled up and analyzed, etc.  What is very important for a Client to remember is to never under emphasize their own ability to discern when they are getting an accurate reading for themselves, but also to recognize whether or not they are giving an Advisor a fair opportunity to do a good job.

There are wonderful, talented Advisors on Keen.  There are also charlatans, unfortunately.  The difference will show itself, if you are smart about the way you seek guidance.  This applies to both the psychic and astrology sections.   (Please see my blogs:  How To Get A Good Reading, Parts I and II.)  It is the clients’ responsibility to determine who is right for them.  This cannot be done in 5 minute or less readings, typically.

If you contact an Advisor and ask generalized questions that are not exactly what you really want to know, then you are setting yourself up for a session that may not be satisfying.

Ex. – #1 -  “I want a love reading, tell me how s/he feels.”  YOU ARE BLOCKING ENERGY WITH THIS and sound like everyone else calling – but you’re not everyone else, you’re unique – communicate that.

As opposed to,

Ex. #2 - “My name is X, I have an involvement with Y.  S/he has done A, but then turns around and says B.  I am very confused and would like to get to the bottom of what is going on and really understand what s/he feels.”   WIDE OPEN ENERGY.

If the Advisor has a question or two, so be it!  They are working to fill in the gaps so that they can answer you thoroughly.  Give the Advisor YOU chose a chance.  NOW YOU CAN GET A THOROUGH READING.

In the first example, you are blocking energy and effectively hiding what you need to know.  If you approach a reading in an open fashion, disclose the true meaning of your call / what is weighing on your mind and heart, and then find that you are talking to someone that you “can feel in your gut” to be playing the averages (as I refer to those that are not using their psychic ability, if they have any at all, when they answer a client), then you have now learned valuable information.  This is not the Advisor for you – they may be psychic, they may not be – but you know they are not the one for you.

Approaching a reading with the intent of “hiding” the details of your concerns will put you in a position of not getting as valuable of a reading as you might have otherwise.  Sometimes, we break through anyway.  Frequently, we cannot though.  This is an unfair position to put an Advisor in, and the client has not done their half of the job to insure a good reading.  Economics aside, if you’ve dialed the phone and are paying money – give your Advisor every opportunity to do a good job for you.  If you call blocking circumstance and energy (or cannot speak clearly for fear of being overheard in your environment), it is similar to complaining about a painter not painting your bedroom when you refuse to let him into your house.  Spirit is VERY respectful – if you block it, Spirit won’t go to it.

Be practical.  If you are calling several advisors a week, and some are every day, having 3 minute or less readings (what I call “bubble gum readings”) then you are not giving yourself, your circumstances or your checkbook a fair advantage and are essentially wasting your time and money.  Be present and be aware of what you are doing.

FEEDBACK:

Feedback is designed to help the Advisor know how they are doing AND to communicate to other potential clients the worthiness of the Advisor.  Because no one pleases everyone all the time, and if they do there is a concern, then you should see an occasional bad rating every 2 - 5 pages of feedback.  There is great concern about an Advisor that is receiving bad feedback every page – be aware.  But for the most part, those that are truly gifted, working every day, open to anyone who calls will and SHOULD have an occasional bad rating.  Believe it or not, THIS IS GOOD.

If you choose to leave feedback, your JOB is to be reasonable and objective.

Many, just like you, are reading it.  YOU are guiding THEM through this vast system.  Be ethical and objective.  Wouldn’t you want that when choosing an Advisor?  It is my opinion that no one receiving a reading from an Advisor new to them that is less than 5 minutes should write feedback at all.  We are now back to the “bubble gum readings”, and for an Astrologer, at the 5 minute mark, we have just now been able to pull up your chart and begin to really intelligently analyze and communicate their analysis.  (This pertains to clients who are new to the Advisor and / or are infrequent clients.  If you’re a “regular” and just spoke with your Advisor in the last 48 hours – this may not be pertinent unless diving into a new subject matter.)

If you call an Advisor already angry, looking to take it out on another, and / or not interested in getting a sound reading generally – you likely should not be leaving any feedback and are doing your fellow reading seekers a great injustice.  You’ve served no one any purpose, and most of all yourself.

Be reasonable, fair, objective and ethical – the very things you look for in an Advisor.

And under no circumstances, take to a new Advisor to you your poor experiences with another.  Give ALL a fair shot to do a good job for you.  CLEAN SLATE.

I’ll give you a good example of irrational feedback.  I got a call on my Astrology listing (I’m mostly a psychic, empath, telepath) but am competent in the planets.  This was a new client to me.  Her question was if I’d speak to a deceased relative.  This has ZERO to do with Astrology….but okay.  Wow.  I explained to her that she is looking for a Medium and that it is a highly specific genre of psychic that I don’t do (nor do I advertise it anywhere).  I apologized that it wasn’t one of my gifts and gave her a referral to a colleague I know to do this particular type of work.  She was charged for ONE minute.  Keep in mind she got useful information seemingly unknown to her for that ONE minute.  What did she do?  You guessed it, she 1 starred me.  Not only does she do a disservice to me, but more importantly, to her fellow information seekers.

This is one of thousands examples I could give based on my own experiences and those of my colleagues whom I know to be gifted and respect.  I, like you, am very choosy about whom I speak with and keep in my company.

Another thing I’ll never understand is why any client would leave the NOTES of their reading in feedback.  Aside from the strange disclosure of personal circumstance, no one reading it wants to hear it.  I’m not referring to “s/he said x would happen” and it did.  That is good feedback.  I’m referring to “she said he is having x problem, would call in 2 days, will go on the vacation without me…..but things will be better thereafter.”  WHAT?  The purpose of the feedback system is totally lost to these that do this very strange (and self involved) practice.  Use your Word doc application or a pen and a notebook to take notes – WHICH I STRONGLY RECOMMEND.  Your notes have nothing to do with feedback.  We’ve all read this sort of thing.  We all scratch our head when we see it.

Also recognize, everyone is wrong sometimes.  There is no such thing as 100% accuracy.  If 100% (or 99%) accuracy is printed by the Advisor, in my view, there’s already a problem.  Our work is that of HUMILITY.  No one in the flesh is 100% accurate, ever on anything.  Don’t expect it or you will be eternally upset.  Find an Advisor or two or three that are very good at getting into YOUR energy and YOUR circumstances.  Also, always remember that the Advisor who can read you like a champ on your love life, may or may not be the Advisor to read your Finances.  There is great variance here.  Again, I’m back to you must approach intelligently and objectively.

Be thankful for the Advisor whom you ask an occasional question of who states, “I don’t know”.  THAT is HONESTY and you now know you’re dealing with someone of HIGH ethics.  There are those that will start weaving ‘stories” because they are literally afraid to tell you they are not getting a “hit” on your question.  BIG PROBLEM.  And I’ve gotten 1-starred for saying “I don’t know”.  That’s okay.  I will NOT compromise my ethics.  My bi-line of “every question has an answer” is true.  BUT – it assumes the question is viable – shockingly many ask questions that are not based in reality (i.e. – “there was a car in his driveway, why is he cheating on me?”  Vehicles in driveways and cheating are not necessarily one in the same.  If an Advisor jumps on your cheating bandwagon instantly and without pause, and you are one who is cheating sensitive / accusatory to begin with – Ehhhh… you may not be getting objective advice.) OR an Advisor tells you “I don’t know” because it’s simply not yet written – an answer will come but Spirit does not want the Seeker to yet know (likely for good reason).  It’s frustrating for both Advisor and Client if the answer is “I don’t know” but be very thankful for the ethical Advisor wiling to say this to you and risk bad feedback.  It’s very high ethics.

Be careful of leaving negative feedback (aka “bashing”) for an Advisor you generally like and has done a good job for you, because you’re having a bad day or are angry.  Nine times out of 10 Advisors block upon receiving this.  Never forget, the Advisor gets to choose whom they deal with as a client, just like the client chooses their Advisors.  Sometimes burning bridges in the heat of the moment is not wise.

And probably the MOST irrational negative feedback is that of the proverbial “hearing the answer you don’t want and now you’re angry” feedback.  Give yourself a day or two on this one.  Was your Advisor being authentic, kind, understanding and simply giving you the truth you didn’t want to accept but suspected?  OR were you dealing with the “playing the averages” type, always a problem – I might add.  Weigh this.  Give it a little while.  Get yourself to center.

My point in ALL of the aforementioned is that your feedback is VERY IMPORTANT.  Make sure you are being objective and competent in what you write.  Your Advisors and fellow Seekers rely on and need it.

FREE MINUTES:

One last point is that of “free minutes”.  It is likely important that clients understand that Advisors do NOT have to give free minutes at all.  Everyone’s system for doing so is different, some don’t do it at all (which offends me – but that’s beside the point).  PLEASE understand that free minutes are usually sent as a COUPON toward your next reading – that is especially the case with those of us who are veterans and are gifted.  It is NOT intended to be THE reading.  There really is a bit of an offense, thus energy block, to using those minutes to make your Advisor work at lightning speeds and not be paid.  Offending your Advisor in any way is really not a good thing to do if you seek truth.  Imagine picking your phone up 10 times in a row, working so hard, caring, and not having made a cent.  That is the circumstance this creates and it’s terribly exhausting.  It is equally offensive to spend a respectable amount of money as a client, and not be given a free minute or two, or five.  EVERYTHING is Energy.  EVERYTHING impacts Energy.  Be aware of this and value the ones you trust.  Getting “something for nothing” frequently is not worth having to begin with.  Never being given the “gift of gratitude” that is free minutes from an Advisor whom you confide in is equally lacking worth.

As I’ve stated numerous times, it’s always a two way street between client and Advisor.  Trust yourself and your intuition.  Give your Advisor opportunity to do a good job for you.  Give your fellow answer seekers the benefit of objective feedback.  Take notes on your readings so that you get a broad perspective of who is accurate for you.  Be your authentic self but always willing to be your higher self.  That should be what the Advisor you called is doing too.  If you sense less………move onward.

It is always my effort to provide impacting information.  I hope that I am helpful.

Much Love to you All,  Lyrica

It can be very stressful for a client when they call a new adviser, unknown to them.  That is especially the case if the subject matter is very meaningful to the client.  It is important to recognize that all advisers have different talents, approach readings differently and may need different information in the first minute of the call.  Once you've committed to making that call, having the willingness to "go with the adviser" at the onset is important to the quality of your reading.  On the occasion I get a reading from another, I always ask "how would you like to begin?" or "what do you need from me?".  There are those that prefer you say nothing, those who ask for date of birth, and those who ask your location.  In my case, I often ask for the last date of contact because I am looking for that last strong energy link and moving forward to now.  The variations go on and on.  Try to be open minded and let your adviser work for you at the onset of the call, it will show itself soon enough if they are reading accurately for you or not.  Never underestimate your own intelligence and intuition in knowing that.  Always remember to have faith in yourself and have the benefit of the doubt for the new adviser that you selected.  This insures that you get the best that adviser has to offer you in that moment.  And that is what any client wants to begin with.

In my case, I possess all 4 clairs and my Guides use them interchangeably throughout readings, but they almost always start with clairaudience (hearing).  Because I'm hearing oriented, I need YOUR voice.  The more clear you are, the better off we are.  Additionally, I'm a very sensitive empath (feelings) / telepath (thoughts).  This comes to me very quickly once I'm "spring boarded" into your situation.  With me, the reading is far better off if you tell me the burning question that motivated you to pick up the phone to begin with.  Once I feel YOUR heart.....I'm on my way.  Beginning a conversation with me (and likely any adviser) in which you only say, "I want to know how he feels about me" doesn't give a lot to work with and makes you sound no different than 100's of others.  But you ARE different.  Your situation IS unique.  So at least for me, as an Empath, we are much better off with really getting to the heart of the matter fast.  Also, if that burning question is not being asked, as an Empath, I can "feel" the unspoken and it literally acts as a bit of a distraction to me because I'm being pulled toward the unspoken concern, while being asked to focus on the benign.

These "helpful hints" are especially the case with my first time callers.  Those clients that know me and have called more than once, quickly learn to launch in immediately to what is really on their minds.  Once I know their energy, it takes no time for me to get into the situation and find their answers.  I have always described it as like a road map.  In the first few minutes of the first call, I am learning my way through your unique energy and circumstances.  Once I know it, I never forget and zoom my way through.

Obviously there are issues to watch out for as well.  Those advisers who seem unable to not speak of themselves is, of course, a problem.  There are those that seem compelled to tell you how to act / behave, etc. and it is very clear it is coming from their personal opinion, not psychic information.  And probably the one I dislike the most, is when they are projecting their own personal views / experiences / issues onto you, as the client.  When grossly overused cliches are stated such as, "once a cheat, always a cheat", this is a red flag that you may not be getting a true, objective psychic reading.   Our Guides don't tend to speak in cliches, at least mine don't.   These types of behaviors show themselves quickly and are, in my view, unprofessional, unethical and to be avoided once it becomes clear.  Fortunately, not all that many of us are like that.

Again, all of us are different.  We're all going to get different details.  We all phrase things differently.  We all approach reading differently.  Some are very "flowery" in their speech.  Others are very factual, get down to the bare bone facts (this is more my style BTW).  So it is important for the client to learn their chosen adviser(s), just as much as it's important for the Adviser(s) to learn our clients.  After that it is for the client to decide what their preferred "style of adviser" is.  Style aside, never lose track of that you're always looking for honesty, and the truth.

Readings are always a two way street and the responsibility of both client and advisor. Below I’ve written about some pointers to help you get a high quality reading from any Advisor you should choose.

These tips are based on my vast experience as both an Advisor and as a client who also gets readings.

But do NOTE that all I’ve written here does assume that the Advisor is a good psychic.

I: RELAX AND OPEN YOUR ENERGY

The more relaxed and open the client is, the better able the Advisor is to get good information. It is important to try to relax, be open and honest, and trust. Know that you are not just putting trust in the Advisor you are talking to, but you are showing your trust in Spirit and the Universe.

The reason that being opened, relaxed and trusting is important is two fold:

a: Spirit is VERY respectful and if the client is blocking something, then the Advisor will NOT “get” it because the client does not want it shown.

b: The more “closed” the client is, the less likely the Advisor is to get good, detailed and accurate information for them.

If you approach a reading with any Advisor in a “closed” or “untrusting” manner, ask yourself why? It is entirely possible that you sense the Advisor is not the one for you OR that you don’t want a reading at all, whether that’s conscious or subconscious.

A similar problem arises when a client calls an Advisor when they’re in an environment in which they don’t want to be over heard and are whispering. The more energy the Advisor is putting in to hearing the client, the less energy they’re putting into “getting” information. This is especially the case for Clairaudient Advisors. And the fact that the client is literally “blocking” being heard by those around them, has a similar effect to the general “blocking” I spoke of above.

In all of the above instances, it is not that it is impossible for the Advisor to read for you, we all will. But the client does decrease the quality of their reading in doing so.

Know that the client sets the tone of the reading much more so than does the Advisor. This is, after all, YOUR reading. The information is between you and Spirit. The Advisor is simply a channel between the two.

A colleague of mine once said, “It’s a simple analogy, I can paint your house but not if you don’t open the door and let me in”. ~ J. E.

II: CLARITY AND FOCUS:

Have a good idea of what exactly you are seeking information on. The more clear you are in your mind, the more clear the answers will be. Of course, it is always possible that Spirit will give information in addition to your questions. But your clarity helps immensely, at least to start the reading with.

During your reading try to stay focused on the topic and the reading itself. If your mind wanders a bit or you’re multitasking during the reading, it takes the Advisor out of the energy of the topic at hand. This is particularly true of Advisors who are empathic like me. Again, the same theme as the aforementioned, we (the Advisor) follow you (the client).

YOU are our link to the information you seek.

III: CALM AND OPEN MINDED:

In general, most Advisors are more effective in reading a client who is fairly calm. That is not to say don’t call when you’re upset. That is fine and perfectly understandable. But do understand that the Advisor is going to have to “get around” your emotional state in order to start reading for you.

We all have opinions and preconceived notions about the situations in our lives. That is human nature. To whatever extent is possible for you, try to put those opinions away during your reading. If you are thinking and speaking INTENTLY of your opinion, it is possible that the Advisor will pick up on that energy and simply mirror it back to you. That is NOT what you want. Regardless of your opinion, you still question it in your mind or you would not be asking Spirit for an answer. So try to put that aside.

I’ll give you an example because this is a concept that is a little more abstract. A client of mine recently phoned me about a man that she’s been seeing a short time and was recently intimate with. After their lovely night of intimacy, she did not hear from him for 2 days. She was just oh so certain he was blowing her off and was gone. She voiced that opinion to me long and loud and was very angry with him. Her opinion was NOT my read. My read was that nothing had changed for him and he’d be on the phone soon. He called that night and delivered roses the next day. GREAT!!! I was able to read her situation accurately despite her opinion and her anger. BUT more precious time had to be spent to get that information because I had to bypass her energy, very strong opinion, and what she was strongly putting out there. And I was not able to get details on him I might have otherwise gotten because she was blocking the road to that with her anger. Her concern and fear were understandable, but she did not help out the quality of her reading.

Of course, in any reading, all Advisors should be open to hearing your opinion and you should feel comfortable in stating it. Just be careful to not assert it so strongly that it blocks the road to truth. Stay open minded enough to possibly hear any information that may come through. Of course, we may very well find that your opinion is accurate. Just stay open minded during the reading.

IV: DURATION

Duration is almost completely the decision of the client. Most Advisors, to the extent possible, stay with the client on the phone as long as the client needs or wants.

However, and this is true of all Advisors, do not expect an immense amount from readings under 5 minutes.  That is not a lot of time for anyone to operate in and it is likely that the quality and accuracy of a reading is decreased when an Advisor is operating in a very short time line. This is most true of new clients to the Advisor or clients that call an Advisor very infrequently.

This does NOT typically apply to an Advisor’s regular clients that they know well. Any good Advisor can get into the energy of a regular client very quickly and be very accurate for them in under 5 minutes.

But with new clients, we are entering unchartered territory for us and we have to figure out our way for you. That’s not to say you cannot get a decent reading in a couple of minutes but it’s simply not as likely so adjust your expectations accordingly.

That said, BEWARE of Advisors that attempt to enlongate phone calls, talk of themselves and their lives without your having asked them, avoid answering your questions, and go into areas in the reading that you don’t wish to have read or have not asked about. This is unacceptable and it is NOT for the Advisor to spend your money!!!!!

Similarly, clients who talk for two minutes, put the advisor on hold to recharge their account with additional money, then talk again for two minutes, then recharge their account, then talk for 2 minutes and so on, are NOT doing themselves any favors in getting a good reading. The Advisor is attempting to energetically link into you. So when you go back and forth every couple of minutes you are disturbing that “link” and risking declining the quality of the reading. It’s totally understandable to attempt to manage your money, but in most instances you’re better off loading the account for a few more minutes duration instead of going back and forth every couple of minutes.

After all of that, it is TOTALLY up to the Advisor to take it from there!!! For the client, we’re really only talking about your mind set, mood and energy going into the call. It’s simply Universal Law, we attract the very energy we are putting out there. That Law applies to getting readings as well.

I hope many find this helpful and in incorporating these tips in your readings find that you enjoy your readings that much more. Afterall, that’s what it’s supposed to be all about!!!!

Much Love and Light to you, Lyrica
