I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season. I am writing this today because I had time to reflect on many things in the past few weeks. My computer crashed over the holidays and I was on a forced vacation which gave me time to put things into preceptive.
I have always believed that we are on the path that God has planned for us. We are exactly where we are suppose to be at this very moment. We lose sight of the fact that God/Higher Power is actually in the drivers seat, he steers us in the right direction but the rest is up to us. He provides for us exactly what we need and nothing more. Sometimes we forget that and expect that we should have more than we do. The truth is that we should be grateful for what we do have, but in our busy lives we forget.
Just.because the road would get a little rough at times, I would question if the work I am doing is what I should actually be doing. Then I realized, that in all my life experiences God/Higher Power has lead me through each and eveyone one. Even when I gave up on him. When he wanted me to change my situation he would put people, places and things in my life, so I would do the work to make those changes happen. When all was said and done, I had grown as a person, became more compassionate, and I felt like a better person all because he was gave me what I needed.
Nothing happens by chance, he is guiding us, taking care of us and watching over us all the time. Believing in a power greater than yourself, having gratitude in your daily life and praying that you may do his work is all we need to face each and everyday. I feel that I am doing that today with a little more conviction.
Sometimes we need to take time off from our busy lives to smell the roses, so we can learn to appreciate everything we have and to realize how wonderful our lives really are. As a result of my forced vacation, I know I am doing exactly what I am suppose to be doing and I am grateful for the opportunity to do it!
