I am writing this to all my clients and for anyone reading my blog because of the fact that I have been getting many calls from clients that are in this situation. I call it the precipice situation. It is a point in your situation or romance where you have been patient and allowing things to resolve by just letting time do it's work. The precipice is a time where that seems to not be working, that just allowing things to go an as normal has not brought any change. Many times just hanging in there and allowing time to do it's work makes everything perfect but there are other times where this does not happen and that is what I want to talk about here.
If you have been waiting and just enjoying the moments for too long without things changing you are at the precipice, If you have been waiting for the other person in your life to make a move and they have not then you may be at the precipice. If you think that you are at the precipice which is a time where things need to change then you have choices to make. The first choice is to start making changes in the way you act and react to the other person, this may include bluntly telling the other person your needs and wants without fearing what may happen, this is done when the waiting is just not doing the trick and things have been on hold way too long. The other choice or the next choice is the decision to move on and back away and allow yourself to heal and then open new doors in your life and allow others to come in that door.

Each situation is different, first when I read someone who asks me this question I look at the feelings part. This is the second article that I am writing about how men are different then women when it comes to relationships and the way they process things in their minds. Sometimes it is very hard for women to understand men because when it comes to relationships and romance men think differently than women, and they think much more simply about things than women do when it comes to this subject. That is what makes it very hard for women to understand why men act the way they do at times.
I going to cover here just a few of the things that come up often in my readings. I am myself a man, so when I read for a women and connect to the man they want to know about I get to see and feel that man. Some things that I feel from them are very common and those are what I will write about today.
First, one of the most common questions I get is... why if I feel this way for him does he not feel the same way about me? The answer in many cases is that he does feel the same way, he does have the same amount of feelings for you, but he does not express them in the way a women might, and does not necessarily want the same things at the same time.
A women will ask me this. Why if he cares the same way about me as I do for him does he not want to be with me all the time like I do? The answer is simple and that is what causes the confusion. You have to understand that, yes a man can have huge feelings for you but not want to be in what most women would call a committed relationship. This seems strange to a women because a women wants that most of the time. She wants that constant if not fluid connection, she wants to see him all or much of the time, hear from him all or much the time, and wants to do things with him much of the time. A man in many cases, and so much depends on timing which I will write about next, the man just does not want the responsibility of the relationship or the responsibilities that go with one.
For example, a man knows that if he commits to a "real" relationship then he has to be accountable for certain things. He has to make sure that he calls at certain, and steady intervals, he knows he has to put a certain amount of time in seeing this person, he knows that he has to keep in his mind at all times the fact that he is in a relationship and has to remember things such as important dates, such as anniversaries, such as valentines day, such as birthdays. He knows that if he is committed to the relationship he has to make sure to ask his women how she is doing and feeling. He has to possibly interact with her family, her children maybe. he has to share his family, his life and combine them together.
This is allot of just thought for a man, let alone allot of actions for a man. Men are simple creatures. they know that a person cares about them, they know that if they care about that person, and in a man's mind then all is well. The fact is that is not exactly true. A women wants more than just that quick reference of feelings. A women wants, and rightly so, to be told that the man has feelings for her, wants to be included in his life, wants a certain amount of time and communication. She deserves this. She is a women, the greatest thing ever made.
Men get very worried about this at times. Men think about the fact that they will lose contact with their "buddies", that they will lose a certain part of their individuality. Men think to themselves that their life needs work, such as financially or other wise and that by having to do all of the above that they will not be able to focus on the rest of their life. Men do not always have the capacity to keep all of this going in their minds. They organize, prioritize, and act in a completely different manner than women do even when the feelings for that women are equal to the feelings from that women.
The answer in many cases to why is he not wanting the same thing as me is not because he does not have the same amount of feelings for them, but just processes things in a different and what I call a more simplified way. Like I wrote above a man says to himself, I care about her, she cares about me, lets just enjoy the moments and let things happen at a certain pace.
Now this is where we talk about timing, or the "pace". Women are always or let us say 95% of the time running ahead of men in the pace of the relationship. I am going to give an example here. Let us say that you meet some man, things are great, you fall for him head over heals and he has indicated in his initial actions that he feels the same way about you and usually does. A man will always in the beginning of a relationship "come on strong" then when he feels comfortable that the women does have the same feelings for him he relaxes a bit and settles in to more of an even pace. This is a point where many women get worried or even upset. They may say he is pulling away, not acting like he used to, not wanting or doing all the things he said he wanted to do when they first met.
This is a huge problem, a women needs to be reassured about the feelings a man has for them, a women needs to see that things are still there, and women look at the actions or lack of actions and try to determine feelings or lack of feelings rather than understanding that the feelings are still there but the pace has changed. Why does he not call or see me as much as he did in the beginning. I have heard this over and over again in many of my readings. I also can very much understand the women. She can not read the man like I can, she does not have the ability to reach into his mind as I do, and know that the feelings are the same. She needs to hear it, feel it, see the actions, and this is the cause of many misunderstandings and communication breakdowns that occur.
A women is going to try to show the man that they need this, and women tend to do this by either saying something, or by acting different, men call it moody, or needy, but it is neither. It is the women trying to get what she needs, the affection, the romance, the communication. Women do so much comparing. He is not calling me as much, he is not seeing me as much, he is not sharing his feelings with me as much. This now starts to lead to problems. problems that do not need to exist and that is when I can help. By telling you the feelings he has and why he is acting or not acting a certain way. Hopefully hearing this from me will allow a women to understand more, and understand the next stage, the whole time line scenario.
The time line. This is where men and women really are not on the same page at the same time, let me explain. From the very first time a women realizes that she has found her soul mate or a man that she cares about, that she never felt like this way about before, she is now thinking about him all the time. Now maybe all the time is a bit harsh but let us say, most of the time. Her mind turns from her life before the romance to the life now. She now starts thinking about him and how he makes her feel, instead of the things she was thinking about before they met. She is no longer thinking about her girlfriends as much, her activities as much, even in many cases her work as much. She is now in what I call
"The Romance Zone".
The man on the other hand has not yet slipped into this zone and is now putting his thoughts back on his life before the initial romantic fireworks, he is thinking about his job, his friends, and how he needs to start shaping his life so that he can include his women into it, and make things different. Men run so much slower than women do in this area. Now the gap widens because the man feels all is well and starts to go back to his normal routine, the women is on the opposite side thinking more about the relationship, where it is heading and when she is going to hear or see the man next.
This is where problems start to happen and this is the time you need to call me so that I can tell you what he is feeling and thinking an explain to you in very simple terms the way a man's mind works when it comes to affairs of the heart. It helps so that the women does not start to get insecure and start comparing the relationship she is in now to a past relationship that went bad. This causes mush worry for some women. In reality all is great, but from a womens point of view things are off, what happened, why is the interest level not there, why is he not calling as much and then from there the bad movies start to play in a womens mind. The man on the other hand, well he is fine, he is secure in knowing that the women cares for him and all is good. This is a big mistake on the man's part. A man needs to understand that the women needs to know, needs a bit more reassurance than he does, needs more initial attention like he gave her when things first started.
The problem is that men, well we just do not think that way and we should, but we do not.
While the women is thinking about the relationship, men are thinking about what men think of, what they are going to eat for lunch, how they are going to pay the bill's and of course what men think about every few seconds sex. I know this sounds so crude in a way, so simple, but it is in many cases exactly what is going on. Then there is the time line.
The time line. This is something that needs to be understood by both the women and the man in order for things to run smoothly and too continue to grow the relationship. I am using the word grow here as an analogy because a relationship is like a garden. You have to water, feed, and care for the garden. A man need to learn to understand this, and not just feel that the sprinklers are on a timer and all is well. The man needs to feed the women with his action and words, he needs to nurture her a bit more and allow her to know that he cares for her. he needs to water the relationship with time, with companionship, with contact, with maybe some nice flowers, or just something to let the women know that he cares for her the same as she cares for him. For now lets get back to the time line because this is very important.
When I write and speak to my clients about the "Time Line" what I am talking about is the time it takes a man to get to certain milestones or thought processes in the relationship compared to how long it takes a women to get to those same stages or thoughts.
It takes a man at the very least 8 weeks to even form a real opinion in his mind about the level of feelings he has for the women. Does he like her, like her a lot, love her, or is in love with her. I want to take one second and say that in my readings I never use the word love or in love because it means something different to each person, I will usually refer to this as in level of feelings he has toward you. But let us not digress.
Now 8 weeks have gone by and this is about the time when a man will know in his heart his "LEVEL OF FEELINGS" for you and if they are high enough he will continue with the relationship, if they are not he will at that point either pull away completely or in some cases give you some type of disclaimer about how he is not looking for a major relationship right now, but be careful with that last line because sometimes that just means he wants to go slower so he can catch up.
Now we are at 8 weeks, he has determined he has a high level of feelings for you, a women would say that he likes her very much. Not love yet but likes her very much and this is where the intersection starts. You see at 8 weeks a women in her mind can really be what she would call in love or at least loves the man. A man can not and normally will not have formed a "Love" feeling yet. He is now running behind you and this is the difficult part to understand because the time lag with the next step is even more spaced out.
Relationship time. A women at 8 weeks can easily say in her mind that she is in a relationship, is ready to be in one, or this is one. A man is not there yet and it will take him around another 8 weeks to determine if he wants this to be a relationship or if he was just dating or is still just dating. This is a crucial point in time when I do get so many calls.
So for the sake of this scenario we are now at 4 months. If the man is still with you then he has now said to himself or he should have at least said to himself that he is in a relationship. Now is the next stage. Where is this heading? I get this question so very much from women. Is this going all the way, are we going to be married. Yes at 4 months a women has already said to herself that this is the man I want to be with and wants to start really getting into combining lives and sharing feelings and things of that nature. She has already in her mind said either yes or no to that question. The problem is that at 4 months many men although they have accepted and are comfortable with the fact that this is no longer dating but a relationship have not formed the "Feelings Set" in their minds that says one way or another to them that this is going to be forever and that I am now going to get closer, and put more time, more effort into the relationship and start combining my life with her life.
How long does it take then you ask. First I have to say this. Every single relationship is different, each runs at it's own pace and that is why my family of clients call me. If there was a published time table there would be no need for me, or any other advisor to be called. I get calls from people who want to know what his or her feelings are at that moment and where things are heading. I also get calls from my clients to help them understand this difference in men and women as well as many questions about why someone is acting a certain way or non acting as I put it. I would much rather you call me at any of those points then react and do something that will jeopardize the relationship.
In other words call me first before you freak out and say something to the other that is unnecessary or will cause damage or slow things down.
Getting back to how long it takes for a man to determine if he is going to go all the way in the relationship. This is an average of course and every relationship is different but it is very safe to say that it is going to take most men about, or at least, 7 months to get to a point where he says to himself that he wants to continue to grow the relationship and wants to do so with the intention of being with the other person forever. Many women feel that this is a long time to just get to that point, and I want to say that sometimes, depending on what has happened in that 7 month period , that it may even take longer than that.
Now if you are a women reading this, think about how far apart you are in time lines. You may be saying to yourself why is it taking so long, he can't possibly have the same feelings for me as I do for him because I knew the moment I met him that this was the man for me.
Well the fact is that the first 6 to 7 months are the most important, and it is crucial to get through them and enjoy each and every moment of that time. You do not want to have speed bumps along the way, that just makes things take longer. When you start to get that "Am I wasting my time" feeling you need to call me, so that I can tell you if you are, or if you are not. You do not want to confront your man, you do not want to push him into a corner, you do not want him to feel pressured, or anything even remotely like that during this first 6 to 7 month time frame because if you do, or if you have, them the time line changes in a very substantial way. Problems occur. This is not good.
At 7 months in what you should be seeing. At this 7 month mark do not expect him to get down on one knee and propose, do not expect him to want to move in together, he has just at this point, put into place the "feeling Set" required for this to make it to the next step, and the next step can take a few months or even years depending on the situation.
I want to finish by saying a few very important things about this article that I am publishing in my blog. Every situation is different. This scenario is by no means a schedule or timetable and every situation, every relationship, every romance, is completely different.
You may have know this man for years, you may have had ups and downs, you may have broken up and reunited, you may be in married but unhappy situation. There is much more than what I have written above, and that is the very reason that you should be calling me, to find out where you are at. It is a point in your situation or romance where you have been patient and allowing things to resolve by just letting time do it's work. What I do exactly is very important to know. The first thing I do is connect to you and your situation, then I connect through you to the other person you have questions about. I am a true clairvoyant.
Predictions are easy based on the current path that you are on, but if you are reading this or calling me you most likely want to change that path or at the very least modify it.
Yes I do get calls from clients where things are perfect in their relationship, at least as perfect as they should be. Too perfect is a red flag it is just not normal. Now here is the good news. My very first step in reading you is to look and feel the amount of feelings that the other person has for you. The second step is reading his thoughts and feelings and explaining them to you in a way that you can understand. Remember men are simple, but it is sometimes very hard for a women to understand their actions, or words, or lack of both.
This starts you reacting and acting on what you think he is thinking but really is not. This is a huge problem. I can helpyou understandd him much better.
The next step is to ask you what you are looking for in your relationship and telling you if what you are looking for is indeed even possible. For example, some men as much as they care for you will not make the step of marriage and if that is your ultimate goal and I feel that there is no way that he will ever get there I am going to let you know this so that you can decide whether to accept this and enjoy him on that level or decide that you may need to move on. This is just an example, a very harsh example, but is important because no matter how you feel about someone you may consider this a waste of your time. Some things can not be changed, but most things can and they can be changed with very small considerations and new actions on your part and if you make these subtle changes and lead the relationship then he will change as well.
The most important thing I want to get across to everyone reading this, is that most of the time things are not as bad as they appear and they can be fixed as long as you are honest with yourself, listen to my predictions and advice as well as your heart and put this into action. I do not use the word love in my readings. I will say that a person has very strong feelings for you, or will tell you the level of those feelings.
