With the coming of springtime, everyone starts cleaning out that spare
room, the garage or just stuff never to be used again. That said,
springtime is also a good time to start de-cluttering relationships and
friendships.
What Do You Mean, De-clutter Relationships?
Springtime has always been a symbol of renewal and rebirth.
Sometimes we need to have the same changes in our relationships. Ask
yourself:
Are my current relationships in sync with where my life is heading?
Are my friends a positive influence in my life or dragging me down?
When you realize what you need in your life what will propel you
forward and what won't, its time to take a closer look at your relationships.
How Do You De-clutter Relationships?
We all have friends that back us 100% in whatever endeavors we pursu.
On the other hand, we all have friends that will always try to tear down our
dreams and aspirations.
Both positive and negative opinions do influence our thoughts and our
future actions. When you are surrounded with relationships that only see
negative in everything, springtime cleaning is in order.
You do not have to be rude or nasty in breaking off from these people,
just stop hanging around with them. Let family members know you will not
tolerate their negative responses anymore.
Start by talking to friends and family members and be honest with
them. Let them know that their comments and/or actions are harming
you. Give them the opportunity to change their attitudes or their
actions. If they can't seem to do that, then you can't seem to be apart of
their lives.
The Party's Over:
Improving yourself, building a promising career takes a lot of work, a
great deal of time and concentration. You need to spring clean, you need
to unload all that clutter that is in your way. Friends that want to party all
the time have no aspirations, they have no place to go and their biggest claim
in life is tearing you down.
You need to stay focused, you need your rest in order to energize
yourself for the next day. Set yourself apart from the herd --
de-clutter and move on.
New Friends -- New You:
Fill that empty space with like-minded friends, people that see your
potential and support your goals. When you surround yourself with people
that always support you and want only the best for you, you cannot fail.
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small
people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you, too,
can become great." Mark Twain
How To Deal With Family Members:
Standing up a family member is not always the easiest thing to do, it
takes courage and a strong belief in yourself. Family members can be the
most harmful in how you view yourself and your expectations.
Have faith in yourself and a willingness to stand up and fight for who
you are. If a family member cannot understand that, then de-cluttering is
in order. Now, you cannot truly rid of a family member, but you can keep
them out of your life. Sometimes just placing a distance between both of
you does the trick.
Hey, This Is My Life, Not Yours:
Believing in everything you are aiming for is critical to
success. Sometimes a little springtime cleaning and de-cluttering of
relationships, gives you breathing room. Whatever you wish to call it,
disposing, annihilating, blotting out, dismissing, terminating or de-cluttering
-- take action!
