I wanted to wish everyone a Happy and Blessed holiday season....In the course of our lives we often forget how interconnected we are, we are all part of the Divine Spource,  and as such we should refrain from letting our interconnectedness be confounded with hate, anger, futility and negativity.  In Spirit like attracts like and by giving into self created negativity, we can draw other negative influences to ourselves...

If I have one resolution for the coming year, it is to not allow negative thinking into my life, or be influenced by negativity in any way....

.remember we are all Divine and it is the most Blessed thing to seek out that Divinity within us.....

                                                    Many Blessings.................~Ravn

Just a quick not to my clients...I will be away on retreat from October 23rd until October 29th, 2008. I will have limited availability, mostly during the early evening.

                                                           Thanks and Blessings, ~Ravn

I haven't written a blog on Keen in quite some time, due mostly to time constraints...Now that Autumn is here and Winter is fast approaching, I thought I would begin again.

Firstly, on the health issues that I went through...Much better now...I have finally quit smoking completely...something I should have done a long time ago, and something that I have tried to due numerous times....It finally got to the point that my lungs couldn't take anymore...and now I feel better than I have in my entire life! Stopped cold turkey as well!

Secondly, we closed the summer retreat in PA a couple of weeks ago...I hadn't been up there as much this simmer as in past, but I'm going to miss it nonetheless.

And finally, I called this post Athenian Oracle after a book that I have in my collection that was printed in 1702...It is sort of a question and answer book that gives a glimpse into the lives of people at the begining of the 18th century....I thought that I would start adding some of the questions and answers from that book as part of a weekely blog...hopefully it will be interesting! I'll start posting excerpts from the book asap!

Also just a reminder...I do preform distance Reiki on a nightly basis...if you'd like to be included please drop my an email with your name, situation and general location, and I'll add you to the list....info on Reiki and my on Spiritual process is at The Church of Ravenstar website ...just google that and you can read a bit.

                                                         More later, Blessings ~Ravn

Just a quick update for my regulars....I was in the Hospital again (3 days), for and asthma exacerbation. Not a fun thing, but with lots of medication, I seem to be doing ok, and am ready to take calls again. I've been mostly working on arranged calls, but should be on as yes taking calls a bit later tonight...(It's my Birthday, so I have a party today) ...
If you don't see me as available, just arrange a call and I'll try to get to you asap.
Thanx everyone for your support!  It's nice to know people care when you're not feeling well! :)
                                              Blessings, ~Ravn

It was a good 75 degrees this morning before I left Cape May for the Poconos retreat...On weekends from May through November I am at the Ravenstar retreat here in Lehighton PA. I usually leave on friday morning at 9 am and go back to Cape May on Sunday afteroon. I bring my laptop and vonage phone so that I can work Keen during the weekend.

Here in Lehighton, it's pushing 90 degrees in the sun...running the air conditioner!  And to think last weekend I had a roaring fire going!  Such is the time of year...you never know what the weather will be.

My apologies to anyone for any connection difficulties lately...things are getting much better!

              Blessings, ~Ravn

Since I've posted about it and have it on  my listings, I though maybe I's give a brief description of Feri Witchcraft. When I first became interested in the Feri Tradition it was called Faerie or Faery...over the last ten years or so the spelling was changed to Feri to set it apart from some of the other Witchcraft Traditions that were also called Faery...such as the Radical Faeries. I like the "Feri" spelling as it seems to come from the Latin root word for "wild" and also "iron"  (ferrous)...and Feri is definately "wild" in nature. The tradition was brought to light by Victor and Cora Anderson and their lineal descendants. It was popularized to some extent by Starhawk in her book The Spiral Dance.

The following copywritten description is from The Covenant of Rhiannon Community/Church of Ravenstar website, written by Myself and Henry Buchy:

Victor Anderson is often quoted as saying "Anything worthwhile is dangerous", and Feri is both. The current in which we work is that of life and creation. The very power that maintains the cosmos. This current flows through all things, whether we're conscious of it or not. Feri isn't really something that can be taught, it can only be learned. We can only teach one how to learn it. One learns it from deep within ones self and from the living world around us. We can only teach the ways to look deep within, and the tools to become conscious of this deep lusty current of life.
Our training and practices place a much greater emphasis on developing the most important tool of the craft; the very self of the Witch. It stresses the importance of deep inner work, the acknowledgement of things which we'd rather not face, which are buried deep within us. Yet in so doing, we not only come to terms with those things that we fear and loathe, but also the true beauty and grace of our own humanity and our own divinity.

Feri Tradition is the wild power of the woodlands and of the Lords of the Outer Darkness. We tap into a current of energy that other traditions would just as soon leave alone, or not recognize at all. And this can be frightening to the student of our path. Indeed, we have our darker aspects, just as the Gods do...We are not ALL light and love...Yes, we love...and deeply...but there is a darker side to our nature also, as is in all of creation, and we recognize that darker side. We feel that there is a danger in Not recognizing the darker aspects within yourself... To be touched by Feri is to be touched by the wilderness... all that is wild and free... and it is not a path to tread on lightly...but it IS a path where you can lightly tread!

Hope that helps a bit!               Blessings, ~Ravn

A bit of a slow night for me so I thought I'd add anotherpost to my blog, with a couple of pictures of the place where I find Spiritual peace and contentment.

These images are of one of our local nature preserves here in Cape May, NJ....Higbees Beach Wildlife managment area. I often go there when i feel out of sorts, and to regenerate life force which is abundant there. Being a Spiritual Counselor and an empath is often difficult and sometimes I need to recharge the batteries.

I'm probably going to call it anight on Keen, but I will be on all day tomorrow and into the wee hours tomorrow night....Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow!
Bright Blessings, ~Ravn

I'm going to be on most of the day and well into the morning hours...I am trying to develop a more set schedule. Please feel free to arrange a call when you see me not available and I'll get to you asap.

The Raven called again at midnight,
And he showed me the darkness in my soul.
And instead of running, I let him in...
and he exploded in my brain like ten thousand fireflies
illuminating the cob-webbed corners
of the house
that is me

What to write in a blog? Well I'm going to try to keep you informed as to some of the little day to day things that are going on in my life, and hopefully give some tips and etc. on certain aspects of my Witchcraft practices as well. I don't know how successful it will be but it's worth a try.
As you may know, in addition to my Psychic life here on Keen, I'm also an initiate of both the Feri Tradition on Witchcraft and the Horsa Tradition, although my practice now is mainly Feri. I am also a Bokor, which is a non-initiated Vodou practitioner. Vodou resonates quite well with Feri Tradition. I am founder of the Covenant of Rhiannon Community, which is the oldest practicing Coven in the Southern NJ area. I am also founder of the Church of Ravenstar which is a Feri ministry dedicated to GLBT Spirituality. The Church of Ravenstar operates a retreat in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania and that's where I am most of the summer.
In addition to teaching Feri Witchcraft, I am also Bishop of NJ for the Church of Seven Planes...which takes up some of my time.

            I'll write a bit more later..........Blessings, ~Ravn
