I have been hanging around in this lifetime for almost  69 years now... and it has not been a party...... ever...   But that is another storey.  On Monday evening around 7pm I had opened my gargare door to do some chores.  As many six sensor's I am also animal sensitive and have spent a lot of time  helping animals in need.  I have been on a Board of Directors two times, once as a secretary and once has the Chairperson at a local Humane Shelter. ( that is yet another storey)...   A neighbor's kitty was hanging at my house in the yard at this particular time trying to get in my house, in which my own kitty was not happy about.  So this sweet kitty was headed back to my front yard a bit put off at not being welcomed.  I was in my house to get something and was headed back to my front yard when I heard something bang against my house.  I went to my front door to see what was going on and to my utter horror were 3 pit bulls tearing this poor sweet kitty to shreads.  I started screaming at the very top of my lungs.  A neighbor right across the street came to my aid with a baseball bat.  He got the dogs to follow him out of my front yard AT which time he felt in danger as they were going to go after him.  Thank God the dogs started walking down the street in a hunt for more animals to kill.  Luckily people that live 3 houses aways had a good enough fence and his sheep and other animals escaped harm.  Finally the police showed up (15 mins latter).  After getting the facts, taking a photo of the remains of " Cassie", the victim kitty, they put the 3 pits in the police car along with a 10 yr old girl (the owner) and drove them all home to be safe and sound..  HUH?  I could not believe that they were returned home without any regard to what had just happened.  Two of the dogs didn't even have collars on.  I know there are a lot of Pit bull people out there that will say " it's the owners".  I have been in this house for 20 yrs and have rescued many dogs of all breeds, but never had a pit....  Anyway an Angel  was watching over my brave neighbor who escaped any real harm and most likely saved me from physical  harm as well. God Bless.

File:Valentine Postcard 43902.jpgHello and Happy Valentine's Day.

This is a very old postcard from the 1930's which I fell in love with and wanted to share it with you.  Valentine's Day always reminds me of when I was a child in Grammer School and we all sent each other " homemade" cards.  Today it is all about.... you guessed it  Commercialism.   Who gets the biggest arrangement of flowers?  Or the best box of candy?....

How about if we just tell the special people in our lives how much they mean to us.  Especially that person you call when it all goes down the " tubes".   Or that favorite neighbor who  sends a smile, or the little boy or girl walking to school who waves as they go by.  And of course our favorite pet.... who brings tons of joy and happiness our way.  Some of us are lucky enough to have a special  someone close to us.  Boyfriend,  girlfriend, husband or wife.   And some of us don't.  But we can all send each other love and a big smile.  Either way......

Enjoy and love who you are with.

Just like many of you I am sitting here wondering where time goes?  I always heard that as we grow older time seems to go quicker.  Well I can tell you that is true.  As I look back over this past year I look at all the good things that have happened as well as the " not so good things"..  We all have them.  I have learned that the only power I have over most things that happen is I how I choose to re-act to it.  I find that if I stand back and look at what ever it is that has me mistified instead of re-acting without checking in I may have a sense of " over re-acting" and that usually means I need to do some forgiving.  Sometimes it is to myself, and sometimes it is to another. So next time you are hit by something difficult try to count to 10 and standback for a moment before re-acting.  And always remember we are all under protection from our Angels, Guides, and of course the C.E.O.  GOD.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year and a safe, healthy 2011.     Love, Virginia
