Meditating in 2011
I believe
that we all need to consider the current state of our health and our lives
today and then try to improve both. The Spirit has told me that the only way we
as a world will be able to make it through the next few years into the glorious
future we have before us is to try to correct our mistakes and then help to
correct the ones in the world around us. We have to help ourselves first,
though, so I am going to try to enlighten you a little here and help you begin.
Meditation
Meditation
has been practiced for thousands of years. The wise men of far Tibet are famous
for their meditations that put them into a total trance and allow them to rise
up off of the floor and float in the air with no assistance from wires or
props. No one but they know how it is done but it has been done and
investigated many times with the result being that they still do this and we
still don’t know how. It is done through meditation. Meditation does a lot for
you as a person.

You can
meditate in as little as ten minutes. Don’t you think that allowing yourself to
be still and quiet for that short period of time in order to commune with the
Spirit is worth ten minutes of your day?
How to
Meditate
·
Find
a quiet place where you can be totally alone.
·
If
you wish to play some background mood music, I recommend that you choose a New
Age selection with no lyrics. An infusion of sounds such as light rain, waves
hitting the shore or birds may help to set the mood.
·
If
you wish to light candles, place them so that you will be able to see the
flicker of the flame as you meditate. This will assist in a deeper meditation.
·
Begin
by breathing in and out deeply. Breathe in through the nose and out through the
mouth. Count to 10 with each cleansing breath that you take.
·
After
you have done this for a total of 5 times, try to center your mind on a good
memory. Picture your favorite place in the world. A beach you have enjoyed or a
hill overlooking your favorite city.
Allow yourself to go to this place mentally.
·
Begin
to relax your body. Tell each portion of your body that you wish for it to
relax. Follow this formula:
Relax your mind.
Let your mind move away from your
body as you relax.
Relax. Feel the relaxation as it
flows from the top of your head and into your face. Relax. Let the relaxation
move into your neck. Feel the muscles in your neck relaxing. Relax.
Now let the relaxation flow into your
shoulders. Feel the tightness of the muscles in your shoulders, back and chest
relax. Relax. Your mind has moved away
from your body and you can feel yourself as you totally relax.
Feel the relaxation move down into
each arm and out through your fingertips. Relax; relax.
Feel the relaxation move through the
center of the body and into the hips. As it moves down into the legs, feel the
relaxation go through the muscles in your legs, down into your feet and out the
tips of your toes. Your body is totally relaxed.
It is not necessary for you to concentrate on a specific vision or a
specific desire when you meditate. This is more for VISUALIZATION. MEDITATION
is about totally relaxation of the body and mind so that they can progress to a
higher level. To encourage your body to perfect relaxation will help you
physically and mentally more than any concentration on a specific want or
desire. Meditation will allow you to achieve the greatness that you were meant
for. Do not confuse the two. Want and desires are fine. Everyone has things
they would really like to have or to do. But do not concentrate your life on
material things. The secret of the wise men that can float is that their mind
is totally blanked out. They aren’t concentrating on floating. They are letting
their consciousness itself float. Maybe that’s why they live to over 100. They
don’t have a lot of material “wants”.
Remember, for 2011, meditation is the way to renew your life.
