One of the first rules that this blog will follow I picked up from my mate, which is that of confidentiality. Same as with anyone offering a similar service, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The details of what someone needs to know do not get shared with anyone, not even my love.
Nevertheless, it would be irresponsible of me to not share what I myself learned about how to service the needs of those who seek answers. I'm finally getting this calling back off the ground, so with a few readings now completed, I believe that this sharing should now commence.
I remember a conversation that occurred at one job I recently held. The company was instituting a 401K policy that allowed employees to select their investments. One employee wanted to know what he "should" invest in.
Another employee tried to explain to him how investing worked: long-term, short-term, high-risk, low-risk, etc. But that didn't cut it. What this person wanted to know was the right investment. He couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that there was none, or that at the very least, no one here knew, or could know.
As I approach giving readings, I feel that for sake of honesty I cannot stress this enough. I cannot claim to do anything with a deck of tarot cards that I cannot do without them. The tarot is a magical system. But magic cannot make the impossible possible.
A way to think about the tarot is to think of a telescope. A telescope can help you to see things that were there to be seen but too distant to see just with your own eyes. But what it cannot do is force the light to the lens. First of all, you need to know where to look: the telescope will not read your mind and aim itself to what you most need to see. More importantly, if the light is not available to it, there is nothing the telescope can do to make it otherwise. A telescope cannot clear the sky or turn off the sun or move the moon out of the way.
And if you see a distant meteor heading towards earth, a telescope won't tell you what to do to stop it. All it will do, if you use it right, is give you the information you need to do it yourself. A telescope won't tell you whether or not that meteor will hit the earth. But it will tell you where it is going right now, and from that, where it is most likely to keep going if you don't do anything to change it.
The tarot gives you information, and used right, it is outstanding at that. It is the reason it is such a popular divinatory system. But giving information, and at that only the information it has available to it, is where its power ends. You must take that information and choose your destiny wisely from there. Only you can do that part.
If this seems a bit scolding, it's only because I feel the need to make every effort to not represent myself as anything more than I am. I do not want to be in the situation of someone feeling that I am offering something that I am not, and cannot. Keen rightly has a prohibition, for example, against anyone offering lottery numbers. Personally, if someone really thinks they can offer that and someone is willing to pay them for it, I have no ethical problem with it. But Keen feels otherwise, and I can't say I blame them.
Same as that, there are things I can never promise in good conscience. As long as you know what those are and are willing to listen to what I can promise to give, then I greatly look forward to talking to you. I think you'll see the value of the kind of information I can give, we can develop a wonderful relationship. I really am excited about offering this service, and hope to hear from you all. :-)
