We hear so much of the need to be "strong" when what really we need to have is "strength."  There is a world of difference between the two.

I found this earlier today on a social networking site where I meet with friends.  It was shared by a lovely woman in California.  I'm glad she posted it for all of us to see.  I don't know the origin of it, but I'm sure it's meant to be passed on and so I share it with you here.

A Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep in shape...
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape...

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything...
but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear...

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her...
but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone

A strong woman walks sure footedly...
but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls...

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face...
but a woman of strength wears grace...

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey...
but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Love & Light to All... Mary  :-)

I'm sitting here recovering from that dreaded flu, with extra time for meditation, and looking out the window at the beautiful full moon.  Then I hear Spirit say, "starry, starry night."  That has a special significant meaning other than what I'm looking at, as they've told me in communication with me before.  But it did remind me of Don McLean's song, "Vincent" and I was led to a beautiful slideshow with music on YouTube and thoughts about Vincent's life.  We must live our lives our own way and not let others interfere.  We must follow our own bliss - happiness lies there.

The phrase also led me to NASA's page where I found a magical looking picture of the Veil Nebula, formerly known as the Witch's Broom... I like that name better.  I do think it looks like a Witch's Broom, don't you?  That bright star behind it is Cygni.  Once a long time ago, I had an 8" Meade Cassegrainian telescope and spent many long nights outside looking at the sky with it.  I like to contemplate the stars and planets, to think of the vast possibilities that lie around us.  Things are not as we think they are, they are so much greater, we are so much greater.  As Dr. Carl Sagan said, "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."

Our spiritual selves, our energies are one with the Universe, with God.  Our thoughts alone are the reality of life... we are what we think.  We must keep our thoughts "love-ly."  Philippians Chapter 4:  Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.

We could change the world if we all did that.

I leave you with the link to the video, and this beautiful photo of the Witch's Broom.

Many Blessings!

Mary

What is Happiness?  The common belief is that life is supposed to treat us well, that whatever we ask of God will be given to us, that all good things are due to us, that we not be sad, that we not suffer, that we not do without, that we are entitled only to good things.  But I ask you, "What kind of life would that be?   Would it be a life worth living?"

The situation of our life here on this Earth plane is not for pure enjoyment only, but for learning, as our soul is on a profound journey to a higher plane of existence where Love abounds.   Happiness comes only with personal progress, the conquering of situations, accomplishment and giving of oneself selflessly.  The daily feeling of knowing that we've gone another step forward to our ultimate destination - Perfect Love.  Happiness lies not in romantic fantasies or in knowing precisely what will happen to us each step of our journey.  Happiness lies in having patience, unflinching courage and strength.  It lies in experience, in knowing without doubt that the Universe knows our true happiness and is leading us there if we will just let it.  But too often we intercede, we step off the path, we try to hurry things up; to force things and situations, only to see our dreams slip away.  The letting go is difficult, if not impossible for some souls.  But let go we must if we want to reach that place of perfect happiness, Love and peace.

What is happiness in Love and where is it found?   Is it found only in red roses?  In a diamond ring in a champagne glass?  With a dashing Prince Charming or Cinderella?  In knowing that the object of our affection is thinking endlessly of us?  In telephone calls or emails or text messages that arrive when we expect them?  Or is it something so much greater that when we find it we forget those things even exist, and we forget the material world around us, and our happiness is in that person's happiness and not our own?  Sadly, all too often love is selfish and one is searching only for fulfillment for oneself, to validate oneself, to have security, and not to genuinely love another person. That kind of love is never satisfied; it's unsure, fearful, it's always wanting and needing, and it's often angry.  But True Love stands alone and needs nothing but the perfect assurance that the loved one is happy no matter what the circumstances may be, or whether or not we are included in them.

We need to re-think the meaning of love today.  To understand what it really means and what it really is.  Do we really need to pursue love?   It will come to us if we keep eyes forward and follow our life's path.  If we open ourselves so that we see the signposts along the way, if we take off the blinders and just get out of the way and let it happen... if we fly with Spirit.  Nowhere is it written that we have to follow the conventions of this world.  Nowhere is it written that we need the approval of this world.  We can follow our own bliss, we can give ourselves permission to do that no matter what the world may think of us or expect of us.

God is Love.  Everything exists because of Love; without Love nothing would exist.  Love is complete and perfect.  Love is the greatest gift.  Love is the greatest fulfillment.  Love is not just an emotion; Love is an action.

During a particularly difficult time for me several years ago, my Grandfather Spirit (who is really many Grandfathers from my past) said, There is a happiness within you."  Because I truly love him and trust him, I follow him without question.  If he said it, I knew I could do it, that he had faith in me that I could do it. So I learned and realized that I alone am responsible for my own happiness, no one else. No human, not even God. I had very difficult days and was needing materially in many ways; I was tested, and tested, and tested.  But I let myself be happy within; I had hope and I knew I was heading in the right direction, so I rode the waves.  All I had to do was to keep on going and I would reach my destination of perfect love and happiness.  The "woe is me!" days are fewer and fewer... the waves are calming down, that is the promise... and I keep on going.  I decided to be happy in all circumstances; I began to smile and enjoy and learn from each of my days whether they be good days or bad days.  I gave up the sadness and crying about the obstacles ahead of me.  And when I did that I found that love came toward me in a greater force than I’ve ever known.  The love and happiness I put out attracted love and happiness.  It was as if the floodgates opened and it poured out from the four corners of the Earth and from Heaven.

To grow in love and in Spirit is to be happy in all things, in all circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Wisdom from Hecaton of Rhodes, circa 100 BCE

I will reveal to you a love potion,

without medicine, without herbs,

without any witch's magic,

If you want to be loved,

then LOVE.

Many Blessings...
