Using the Major Trumps in a Reading--The 1st 3

Happy Sowen-Samhain for those of you who don't speak Gaelic. I'm glad you made it!
This blog is about how to use Major Trumps, also known as the Major Arcana in Tarot readings.
A lot has been written about the Fool's Journey, which is really what the Major Trumps
are all about. But this blog is about their meanings in readings. As we write this,
we gaze upon the Lady Bridgit in all Her fullness, mystery, glory, and beauty. The Lady Bridgit
is my patroness, for nearly fifty of my 59 years. Tonight is October 31st, 2009
as we gaze upon Her in all Her fullness.

The Fool is the most powerful of the 22 Major Arcana. As Teiweth haas previously mentioned,
the rest of the 22 trumps represent his cosmic journey from relative influence to cosmic
awareness. The Fool, from a Pagan point of view can be seen as a wandering Druid, shaman
(please squeeze the shaman) or a wandering Bard. To illustrate the power of the Fool,
Teiweth asks us to consider that the Fool is the only Trump to make it into today's
deck of standard playing cards as the Joker. Teiweth knows this because before
she started reading Tarot nearly 40 years ago, she had trained herself to read
standard playing cards. The Fool is Path 11, which goes from Kether to
Chokhmah. Reading the Tarot was then just a hop, skip, and a jump
from that. The Fool has several attributes and correspondences. He represents
the Hebrew character Aleph which means "life's breath", the planet Uranus (watch out for
those Klingons!) and Air. The element of Air represents communications, networking,
travel and business, the machinations of the mind. It represents all things mental
in the most positive sense of the word. Mabon for the Celts as he is dreamed. For
the Norse Odin as a wanderer. For the Cthulhu mythos Alhazred the mad arab.
Myrrdin as the mad man of the forest. Tuan, because he witnesses the invasions.
Hercules because of his journeys.

Next we have the Magician, the first of the Trumps to have an actual number.
It is otherwise known as Le Jongleur, the Juggler. It is also known as the
Druid, Shaman, and the Changer. He occupies Path 12, from Kether to Binah.
The Magician is a transformer (no not the toys that change from cars to
robots and back again). The Magician is a conduit from what is above the
the heavens above and the earth below. He stands between these two worlds,
and illustrates the millennia-old axiom "as above, so below". Here are the
correspondences and attributes of the Magician: he represents the planet
Mercury, who rules many of the correspondences listed for the Fool, above.
Mercury rules two signs: Gemini and Virgo. One takes place just before
spring ends and summer begins, the other just as summer is ending,
and autumn begins.The Hebrew letter Beth is ruled by this card. Beth
means "house', so it's about getting your house in order. This is the 2nd
most powerful card in the Trumps, and when it comes up in a reading, it
means that the Querent is a person has control over all the elements of
a situation. It represents magickal power. It represents the conduit
between the two worlds. Going along with this concept, as the Shaman,
he stands between the two worlds. The Magus is often an androgenous figure.
In many tribes, the Shaman is a natural hermaphrodite. He's also the psychopomp.
As the juggler, he is often a master showman. The deities are; for the
Celts: Lugh the master craftsman, who is good at everything. Elderloch
Egyptian deity is Thoth or Tehuti. Thoth is his Greek name. Greek: Hermes
Trismegistis or Hermes the Thrice Great. Or just HermesFor the Romans Mercury (doh!)
For the Norse, the AllFather Odin, who is the god of shamanism, and magick.As
trickster, Loki and the Native American trickster extraordinaire Coyote.
Of course, one modern trickster deity is Murphy, as in Murphy's Law. Teiweth
likes to pair him with Eris as Her consort. Abramelin and Myrrdin.
The Magician as Alchemist. He has his work table and on this table he has the
four tools of his trade as alchemist: the staff or wand for fire, the blade for
air, the cup or chalice for water, and the pentacle, disk or coin for earth.
Carven into the side of the side of the work table, is a red eagle, the symbol of
Scorpio and Mars, one of Scorpio's rulers. The red eagle is also alchemical
code for the red powder, which is both the red powder which is used to turn base
metals into gold, and a 9th degree code word for menses. There is also
the white lion, which is not on the Magus' work table but it is the 9th degree
secret code word for semen. The red eagle is also two headed, which is also the
symbol of the FreeMasonic Scottish rite, which is one of the bodies that comes
after a man becomes a Master Mason. At least a man can be a Pagan in the
Scottish Rite, which he can't be in the York Rite, where he has to be a Christian.
Oddly enough, for a long time, Jews could join only the York Rite, which they rightly
saw as a conspiracy to forcibly convert them to Christianity. Happily, this is
no longer so. A Jewish Mason is now accepted into the Scottish Rite. I hope you
realize that this is by no means an exhaustive study of the Magus. One could write
an entire book just on the Magus alone. We're really just scratching the surface.
The power of the Magician is both infinite and eternal. It is infinite because
the card shows an infinity lemiscate above the Magus' head. Three dimensionally
it is a Mobius strip, which is one surface that goes on forever. The power is
shown to be eternal because of the ouroboros; the serpent biting its own tail
around his waist as a belt. The red in his rode is for passion, the white for
purity. He also has a headband, which marks the space between the worlds, as above
so below, the physical world and the metaphysical world. It seems as though
we are having repeat symbolism here. There is the classic image of as above
so below which means what is above equals what is below. Macrocosm equals
microcosm. There are also roses and lilies above, and roses and lilies below.
The Magician can also be called the Grand Communicator. Communication is one
of the hallmarks of the Magician's ruler Mercury or Hermes, to use his Greek name.
The lilies point to another of Mercury/Hermes' gigs, that of psychopomp from the
land of the living (the red roses) to the land of the dead (the white lilies).

The High Priestess is Gimel or camel in the Hebrew alphabet. She symbolizes
the Moon, secrets, the Greater mysteries, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
The title is the High Priestess, in other decks she can be called the Priestess,
the Cosmic Virgin, who can never be penetrated. She is the Keeper of Torah,
which is the ancient wisdom. The High Priestess' robe, blue, flows like a river
into the main river that flows into the next card, the Empress, which we will
discuss in the next installment of this series of blogs. This reminds Teiweth
of two classes of women, one in the ancient Minoan civilization going up into
the time of Pericles, of Athens and Sparta. The women of which I speak are
the Pythonesses or the Pythia, who pronounced the Oracle. There were various
places or omphalos, where volcanic gases seeped up from the earth's mantle,
and caused the Pythoness to be thrown into an ecstasy of intoxication, in
which she would utter strange sounds, a kind of glossolalia, if you will,
which would be interpreted into some kind of cogent form of oracle by the
priests, later of Apollo. Originally the oracle was interpreted by
priestesses of Gaea the earth Goddess, but the male God Apollo took
over these shrines. A similar effect could also be reached bt chewing
on bay laurel leaves. The Pythonesses had to be virgins for two reasons:
1. the gases or juices from the laurel leaves would be harmful to the feutus
if the Pythoness were pregnant, and 2. If she were making love with
someone, her concentration would be off, since she would be distracted
by thought of him instead of what she was supposed to be doing. This
presupposes that the Pythonesses were hetero. Nothing is said about
how she might be distracted if she were in love with another woman.
Teiweth has studied the Pythoness in depth because she believes that
one of her past lives was spent as a Pythoness, which ended with the
explosion and collapse into the sea of the island of Thera, which is
now Santorini. The second class of sacred virgin was the Vestal
Virgins of ancient Rome. Here their whole duty was to keep lit
the sacred flame of Vesta, from which all the hearth fires of
Rome were lit. They had to focus on that flame, never allowing
it to extinguish, for surely calamity would befall that great city,
should the flame ever go out. There are similarities with the keepers of
the sacred flame of Bridgit, my patroness. I am not certain whether the
keepers of Brigid's sacred flame had to be virgins and celibate or not.
Certainly when the nuns were keeping the flame of St. Brgid alive they
were celibate, and so impenetrable. When Teiweth's friend Barbara and
roommate were putting together the Witchaven Society, she called herself
the Pythoness. She expressed this by pronouncing oracles, in the
shape of Tarot readings. Later she would acquire a snake, a female
Columbian red-tailed boa, which, when it was small, she would wear in her
hair, and it would aid her in doing Tarot readings, and other mantic arts.
Mantic arts is another name for divination. Unfortunately, the snake
grew to be far larger than she could handle. Teiweth still wants to
acquire another snake, this time one that will stay small such as a
ball python, or a corn snake. Her 3rd ex-hubby says that the brain of the
snake, which is only the reptile stem, melds sympathetically with her
reptile stem, or medulla oblongata, the seat of ritual behavior, of which
divination is one example, and this pulls more lore out of her subconscious
thus helping her to do a better reading. Gimel, the camel ship of the desert,
conserves its life giving waters. As gimel the high priestess reserves her
life giving waters within her hump. As the Moon, she only rules 1 sign,
Cancer, ironically enough my sign. The early Trumps are much more
powerful than the later ones. 0-10 are primary, 11-21 are secondary.
Basically the High Priestess embraces the power of the Moon, and
becomes one with it. The High Priestess doesn't become nonvirginal until
she becomes the Emress, at which point she is the Mother. Diana was considered
to be a virginal huntress. Brigit is considered not just as the Sun goddess, but also
the Monn Goddess. She is considered to be virginal until She is full, at which point she is
pregnant, the virginal goddess strong in herself, giving birth to herself.
The previous sentence was not created by me. Teiweth got it from somewhere,
and would really love to give that author credit, but she doesnded the library worker't remember where

This ends our informational section, the first in a series of blogs on the Trumps
or Major Arcana, and how they are used in a reading. The preceeding will also be used

Well, it's official: Isaac Bonewits has cancer. It's squamous carcinoma lesions
on the surface of the colon. So if you are visualizing a healing for him,
that's what to visualize. Teiweth is writing this, I'm dictating it. A strange thing
happened to Stephen while we were at the Colonial Heights Library at Stockton and 21st.
I had ordered a book; research for my book. Stephen had just handed the library
worker his card. He was about to give her 30 cents for his outstanding fines, when he noticed
that his wallet was gone. Someone had walked off with it while the library clerk was standing
right there, the security guard was just 2 steps away, and it had been right at his right elbow.
No one saw or heard anything. Nor was there anything in the trash cans. There is nothing
in that billfold of any value to anyone but him. His identity is not worth stealing.
As for his Medi-Cal card, he isn't on anything that would get anyone high. You'd have to be
pretty low to steal his Medi-Cal card. If you want a clairvoyant call Astro-Wing. Her number is
3323. Teiweth is a pseudo-clairvoyant. This means that she can get scenes, and faces, but no specific
names either of faces or places. Astro Wing is a true clairvoyant.
She can get those names and dates for you.

We are all saddened by the passing of Ted Andrews over into the Otherworld the Saturday belore last.
May he find peace and fulfillment in the arms of the Earth Mother, or whichever deities
he may have revered. Soupy Sales also passed on, recently. He was a very special part
of the TV lives of those of us born before 1965. I remember his face being caressed by the
"paws" of his two huge "dogs", one of whom was named either Fang or White Fang. Maybe
some of you who are old farts or geezers can remember his dogs' names. Maybe they're in the
Wikipedia. All I know is, I remember them from my warped childhood. Teiweth and I

How to use Court Cards in a Tarot Reading

One view is that these are not separate people, but all aspects of the Querent him/herself. Even the Queen if the Querent is a man or the King if the Querent is a woman, is an aspect of the Querent him/herself. In Jungian parlance, the King or the Knight represents the animus or masculine side of the woman whilst the Queen or Page/Princess represents the anima or feminine side of the man. The age system that I use comes from the hermetic system of the Golden Dawn. Kings start at age 40 and go up from there. Queens start at age 40 and go up. Truly is it said that in this system, life begins at 40. The four Knights start at 25 and go up to 39. The 4 Pages/Princesses start for both sexes at age 1 and and end at 24 for men and 39 for women. There are alternative names for the court cards. The 4 Kings are also known as the 4 Lords in certain decks. The 4 Queens are also known as the 4 Ladies in certain decks. The 4 Knights are also known as the 4 Warriors or the 4 Princes in certain decks (Book of Thoth is one example of a deck having the 4 Princes.) Finally the 4 Pages, also known as the 4 Squires, the 4 Maidens, and finally the 4 Princesses. Alternatively, any particular Tarot deck may also have its own titles for the Court cards. Shall I give an example? In the Pagan Tarot, the Elders occupy the spot of the kings. For the Queens, you have the Initiates. For the Knights, you have the Novices, and the four elementals for the Pages. In the Sensual Wicca Tarot, you have the Sages for the Kings, the Mothers for the Queens, the Acolytes for the Knights, and the Maidens for the Knaves or Pages. By the way, the word knave comes from the German knabe which means boy. Here at KEEN I use the Celtic wheel of the year time system, of which there is more than one. I use two of them in concert. The first one comes from the Ancestral Path Tarot by Tracy Hoover. It is the Wheel of the Year, and it's one of the best Wheel of the Year Time systems I've ever seen. The second one is just as good, although not as elaborate. It comes from the Hallowquest book to the Arthurian Tarot by John and Caitlin Matthews. Discussing the Ancestral Path Wheel of the year time system, . begins in the Spring, Aries, Taurus, Gemini--Swords. There are three headings under this Time Period, Tarot card, and Zodiac sign. For the Princess of Swords we have May 24th to May 30th. Zodiac sign is Gemini. For the Prince it's May 31st to June 6th. The sign is also Gemini. For the Queen of Swords, it's June 7th to June 13th, also Gemini. For the King of Swords, it's June 14th to June 20th, which completes Gemini.
The Summer Staves, Cancer, Leo, Virgo. The Princess of Staves July 12th to July 18th Cancer, Prince July 5th to July 11th. Queen June 28th to July 4th Cancer King June 21st to June 28th Cancer. Next season autumn/fall, Cups Princess of Cups November 23rd to November 29th. Prince of Cups Sign Sagittarius, November 30th to December 6th Sagittarius, Queen of Cups, December 7th to December 13th also Sagittarius. King of Cups from December 14th to December 20th Sagittarius. Winter-Sacred Circles (Pentacles) (Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) Princess of Sacred Circles January 11th to January 17th Capricorn. Prince of Sacred Circles January 4th to January 10th Capricorn. Queen of Sacred Circles December 28th to January 3rd Capricorn. King of Sacred Circles December 21st December 27th Capricorn. The HallowQuest book is more simplistic. The King of Swords is Spring, King of Spears is Summer, King of Cups is Autumn/Fall and the King of Stones rules Winter. The Queen of Swords rules June 13th to june 19th. The Knight of Swords June 6th to June 12th. The Maiden rules May 30th to 5th of June. Spears Summer Queen of Spears September 12th to September 18th, Knight September 5th to September 11th Spears, Maiden of Spears August 29th to September 4th. Queen of Grails December 12th to December 18th Knight of Grails December 5th to December 11th, and Maiden of Grails, November 28th to 4th of December. Queen of Stones March 14th to March 20th, Knight of Stones: March 7th to March 13th, Maiden of Stones February 28th to March 6th. Notice how the 2 systems sometimes overlap. That should not be considered a problem. It just indicates a kinship between the systems. Let's discuss our buddy Donald Tyson in his Secrets of the Necronomicon, Each court card has 2 elements, not just 1. King of Wands Fire of Fire. Queen of Wands Water of Fire, Knight of Wands Air of Fire, Knave of Wands: Earth of Fire. Cups King Fire of Water Queen of Cups is Water of Water, Knight is Air of Water, and the Knave is Earth of Water. Swords King Fire of Air, Queen Water of Air, Knight is Air of Air, the Knave is Earth of Air. Disks King is Fire of Earth, Queen is Water of Earth, Knight is Air of Earth, and Knave is Earth of Earth. This system is both Hermetic Golden Dawn and Crowley. Fire Water Air and Earth, IHVH, Tetragammaton.
Thus we can see that the court cards represent personalities in a person's reading. The medieval interpretation would be that the Swords represented the Warriors, the Cups represented the clergy or the sacred, the Pentacles represented the merchant class, and the Wands or Staves represented the peasant class. Because court cards are personalities, they can represent family members, co-worker or boss, a loved one, or as Tegwedd said in the beginning of the blog, yourself. Alternatively, court cards don't have to be people at all. The four maidens or pages, whenever they show up, represent new beginnings. New beginnings in Water or Cups would be in love, or other emotional issues. In Fire or Wands, Career, in Air or Swords revelation or new ideas. In Earth or Pentacles, financial and health improvement. With the Knights, messengers, in Cups, messengers of love. In Wands special opportunities or enterprises. The Knight of Swords is a messenger of information, or intrigue. For the King and Queen, important influential people. To many people the court cards are an enigma. They don't seem to understand that this can be resolved by simple research. For one thing, the court cards represent the four scales of colors. They also represent the 4 worlds of the realms of the the Qabalah. From the top to the bottom, the Kings represent Atziluth, the Queens Yetzirah, the Knights Briah and the Pages Assiah. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn assigned 2 angelic names to each court card. In Faery Wicca, the court cards represent heroes of Celtic myth and legend. As you can see, the court cards can have many more and deeper significance than just people of the Querent's acquaintance. The court cards play a pivotal role in the construction of the Tarot card deck. They take on a centrist pose. Below are the numerous situations of the pip cards. The 16 court cards reside within the center of the Tarot tree structure. The tops are the 22 Trumps, the archetypes. A Pagan point of view would be that the court cards are the people, the Tuatha. The court cards then would be the heroes and heroines of the myths and legends. The top part of the tree are the Gods and Goddesses and nature spirits. When a personality card shows up, interpreted as a human being at first, but then also interpreted as a situation or as a method or solution to resolve an issue. Now I want to hear from all of you. What areas in the uses of court cards in a reading have I missed?

And now, for the news: I have been asked to write a Pagan book on the Tarot, which I have titled The Tarot for Pagans. It will be an ebook, which means that instead of a physical book, you buy a download of the book, so that none of our precious trees have to die so that I can have the egoboo of being a published author. Tegwedd has had 5 books published this way, and she tells me that it is the coming thing. She is now working on 5 WIPs (Works in Progress) at once. When she gets stuck on one, she switches to another one and so on. Two of them really have me excited. One is about vampires, and the other one is about pirates, two subjects dear to my heart. In fact, she owns a copy of the Pirates Tarot, a deck which I have been using to do readings for you good people, but now that she is also reading for Keen, I'll probably have to surrender it to her so that she can read with it. It is her deck, after all. Back to my book, Tarot for Pagans. I have decided to write it by committee, and to that end, Tegwedd and I started a group by that name on Facebook. Join the group, and have a hand in the book's creation. Anyone who contributes will get a mention in the acknowledgements at the beginning of the book.

Tegwedd and I plan to do regular blogs on Keen, we're also looking to expand Abbott's Inn International and are looking for capable staff to help us in this enterprise. Our staff, in lieu of payment will receive readings and classes by email for a year and a day. We need more paid readings by email. $32. It's nearly November, and I haven't been able to pay October's rent yet, because AT&T, SMUD and PG&E took my whole October SSI check.

I had a big disappointment the other day. Altoids has discontinued my favorite flavor: chocolate. You all know what a chocoholic I am. I go though two to three bottles of chocolate syrup a month. How dare Altoids take away my chocolate from me! The nerve of those people!

We have friends who we're promoting. He is an artist and composer of note. She is an extremely capable tax preparer. In parting, let me tell you about the powers of the four main books in every Pagan/Witch's life: The BOS/Grimoire, the magickal diary, the dream journal, and the divination journal. The BOS or Book of Shadows is the book filled with rituals/spells that every Witch refers to. The magickal diary is the lab notebook that tracks a Witch's experience in performing those rituals/spells. The dream journal is the chronology of a Witch's dreams/visions. The subconscious is very important to a Witch, for it is here that all magick takes place. A Witch should make friends with his or her subconscious, then it won't hold so many terrors for him or her. Teiweth made friends with hers about 15 years ago, and it is her chief tool in her writing. You don't have to spend a lot of money on these books either, unless you have the money, and want to spend it. It's far better to spend it on one of my readings lol. For her BOS,Teiweth got a black looseleaf three ring binder. For her magickal journal, she gets those marble covered composition books that are on sale every August just before school starts. The magickal journal is a sort of lab notebook. You would write down conditions like the weather, sign the Moon is in, and other data, then write down the feelings you had about the ritual/spell. The dream journal can also be as simple or elaborate as you Will. Teiweth has been keeping hers off and on for years. For herself, she happened to have a 3 ring looseleaf binder, in which she placed about half a package of college ruled notbook filler paper. You can also use wide ruled if your writing is big and sloppy like mine is. She put one together for me, too. If you want to remember your dreams, say to yourself in that hypnagogic state as you're going to sleep, at least 4 times, "I will remember my dreams." Teiweth reports that she always has hers just before she wakes up in the morning about 7:30. You can spend money on those blank books you can get at bookstores, or even Renaissance fairs. The same goes for your divination journal. But why do it, if you don't have to? The ancient Witches made magickal objects out of found objects and supplies. Recycle, reuse, wear it out, that's what I say.

This is my 7th Update.

Well my piece of shit computer ate my post I was working on. I hate this computer. I now have to do it all over again. This new blog update is dedicated to the memory of my special cat-puddie Joe and Tosh who I was taking care of both killed by cars. My primary puddie- Magickal Familiar Inky is now under restriction. If he goes into the front yard he is brought back into the house. I refuse to lose another puddie-cat to a rushing car. Magical Familiars play a major role in Real Magick. The classic witch familiar is seen usually as a black cat either male or female. Hollywood used the idea of the "Witch's Familiar" in the movie"Bell, Book, and Candle". Then much later in the TV series: "Sabrina the Teen-age Witch". The magickal familiar in the Sabrina series was a talking black cat. My Magickal Familiar Inky is all black except for a diamond of white fur on the lower-underside part of his body.He's a real talker but not with English words like Sabrina's Magickal Familiar. Magickal Familiars come in all shapes and sizes. They don't have to be just domestic cats. They can be much larger ones as well. I'm reminded of the symbiotic relationship between large cats with higher intelligence and humans in the Fantasy Realm of The Cat People from "Tarot of the Cat People" by Karen Kuykendall. This is a very fine deck for all of you who love Puddies-Cats. The book which comes with the deck is beautifully written. I highly recommend this book and deck. Now let's look at how the Wizard, Witch, Sorcerer and Ritual Magickan use their Magickal Familiars. The Magick-User uses their Magickal Familiar as a spy or scout. The spying would probably be performed against a rival Magick-User. Many times the Magick-User would in this instance transfer their consciousness into the Magickal Familiar so they could see with it's eyes. The creature in this case the smaller the better. In the "BeastMaster" series the creature was a large flying bird like an eagle. The critter had once been human. This theme is covered in many films. The other way the Magick-User uses their Magickal Familiar is to perform their Magickal Rituals and spells. Adding their Magickal Power to the Magick-User's . Ritual and Ceremonial Magickans sometimes have a different type of Magickal Familiar which is known as an "Imp". A diminutive form of Demon. I'm a FRP Gamer and Game Designer and I have found the best game that uses Magickal Familiars. It also uses "Animal Companions". Our Real World is so boring compared to these Fantasy Realms. Here are the games which I recommend: " Forgotten Realms", "Neverwinter Nights" "Platinum". "Forgotten Realms" "Neverwinter Nights" 2 and finally "Neverwinter Nights" 2 "Forgotten Realms" "Mask of the Betrayer". " Expansion Pack. Wizard,Sorcerer, Warlock characters can have familiars. Druids and Rangers can have animal companions. Of course there are other games on the market which use Magickal Familiars but these are the ones I like the most. Now there is another area of interest here and that's "Shapechanging". This concept and Magickal Power was used in the Harry Potter books with the character of Professor McGonagall who seemed to have the power to Shapechange into a large cat at will. Here is a Tarot deck that deals with "Shapchanging". :the"Shapeshifter Tarot". By D.J.Conway and Sirona Knight and Illustrated by Lisa Hunt. This is a very fun deck. They use a different Elemental System. Swords represent Fire in this System and Wands represent Air. This is an Elemental System used by many Wiccans. Pentacles are still Earth and Cups-Chalices are still Water. It takes some getting used to if you were trained in the Golden Dawn Elemental System like I was. I had another type of Magickal Familiar which was lizards. In my case Iguanas. I hope to get a pair of Bearded Dragons some time in the near future. These critters are very intelligent and very affectionate. They seem to have an affinity for humans. They would make excellent Magickal Familiars. I and my lizards became rather well known locally because of a Bay Area TV show. It was Ross McGowan's talk show based in San Francisco and was entitled: "People Are Talking". On the elevator to the TV studio Ross McGowan gave me the title:" the Wizard and his Lizard". Later, as the Iguanas became more popular the title changed to "the Lizard and his Lizard". I have had many Iguanas and other lizards since that time. I would teach them to lick noses. The Iguana that went on that show with me was named Smaug after the celebrated Dragon in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit". My copy of this book is presently missing. I hope I can find it. It is a wonderful preamble to "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy". Well I think I will stop here for now. Hi! Folks I'm back again this is my 6th update of this blog. It is on a serious subject. I can only hope that none of you are offended by what I have written here.
Hi! Folks! This is my 15th blog on the Internet. This blog should be of interest to Pagans and Magickal Folk. I hope you all are doing well. Sadly I can't say the same for myself. Some of you know me, some of you don't. I'm a Pagan Elder and I'm in serious trouble. These last 3 months have been a living hell for me. I'm a professional writer but I've had writer's block for the last 3 months. I've had major financial issues and illness and major computer problems. Now to get to my main point. My landlady has told me I have 10 days to pay $700.00 of current and past due rent or quite the premises i.e. I get evicted. If any of you want to help me keep me from getting evicted you can reach me at Abbotts_inn@hotmail.com We will take down your addresses and phone numbers and e-mails and when the crisis has passed we will pay back as many of you as we can. I know that we are all hurting because of the economy. I feel very weird asking for help but my closest friends in the Pagan-Magickal Community tell me at this time I have no choice. So I'm asking for your help fellow Pagan-Magickal Folk. I only have 10 days to accomplish this feat. With your help I will prevail. Now to talk about the main topic of this blog. This blog and all of my other blogs will be bringing up the topic of the Pagan-Magickal Community making an effort to take care and support our Pagan-Magickal Elders. At 57 I'm considered a younger Pagan-Magickal Elder. I feel in the last 13 years that many of the Pagan-Magickal Community have not taken advantage my longstanding Knowledge of Pagan-Magickal services and subjects. At the present time I don't have one student. I've had no readings the entire day. In a normal day I would have upwards to 15 readings. This hasn't occurred since October. My troubles began in November. For one of my Psychic Readings services I get paid 2 times a month. I won't get another paycheck to the 7th of February. The reason why I mention all of this is to make clear the plain fact that we don't know what our fiances will be like from month to month. For this reason one of my best friends in the Pagan-Magickal Community is now going to be my new money manager. Up to this crisis. I only did it myself. Now my job is to build up my many blogs and groups and encourage you all to the same if it is your Will to do so. In the last few years the Pagan-Magickal Community lost two of it's "Bright Lights." One was my dear friend and AD(arch-druid) Robert Lawson. He died of neglect at a Bay Area hospital. Then just last year we lost Robert Anton Wilson who had written many books and had done much for the Pagan-Magickal community. These two useless deaths cut me to the core. I knew both men for over 35 years. I would like to say that they would be missed but now I feel that this may not be the case. We as Pagans and Magickal Folk must do much more to help our Pagan-Magickal Elders. Isaac Bonewits who I have known over 40 years said many years ago "A Magickan is Worthy of His Hire". It is hard what we do. It is hard to design and perform a ritual. I only charge for readings and classes. Everything else I do for the Pagan-Magickal community is for free. I do this because I have ethics. I know how hard it is to do what I do. Another old Pagan- Magickal friend Micheal Gormen by name is writing about this very subject for the coveted "Green Egg Magazine." Isaac is writing about this subject in his many groups. And why do we do this you may ask? We all 3 of us our Elders of the Pagan-Magickal Community. All 3 of us have given over 40 years of our lives and our Knowledge to this community that we love. Now 40 years later many of us are facing possible homeless. What is Wrong with this Picture? How can we give so much and find ourselves in such a sorry state. The reason why this is happening is that the Pagan-Magickal Community has forgotten that it is a sacred duty to honor our Elders for their long sacrifice and knowledge. Many people today have come to my aid and I thank them. When their time comes I will be there for them. May the two Roberts have not died in vain. This situation about the treating of our Sacred Elders is shameful and must be dealt with. When we honor our Sacred Elders we honor ourselves. When we sit at their feet to gain their Knowledge we honor our own Knowledge. When we aid our Elders to be able to live better lives in comfort and respect we encourage them to be more creative and artistic. If we don't honor and support our Sacred Elders and they die alone and neglected on a city street this too shall be our fate. Forty years ago I thought that when I got to be 57 years old I would be honored and respected by my Fellow Pagan-Magickal Brethren both male and female. But instead I'm facing eviction and homelessness. What is wrong with this Picture? How could I have given so much to our Pagan-Magickal Community that I love so dear and to be brought to such dire straits. What is the future of our Pagan-Magickal Community if we don't start to honor and support our Sacred Elders? I feel we will lose the Magickal Spirit of our community. Paganism will become a Soulless Shell of what once was. This must end if we shall have a future in this world. "Oh My Pagan-Magickal Folk". I will be there for you in your time of need as long as I am able. Let's have some feedback on this very important subject. I want to hear from you all and I want to see this hateful neglect for our Sacred Elders Banished For All Time. Thank You for allowing me to voice these hard thoughts. Well Folks! Here's a new update.

Well I'm back again folks! It seems I'm in serious trouble now. Through no fault of my own I'm really hurting right now. Keen has slowed to almost nothing. This majorly hurts me. Are any of the rest of you having a major slow period with keen right now? Well if you have any ideas about what we can do to improve this situation please let me know. This is very upsetting to me. I need to pay my rent in a few days. Now let's move on to something a little less depressing shall we? Many of you have asked me to talk about this next subject. I'm referring to the following: This is the subject of the difference of Clairvoyance and Intuition. Clairvoyance comes from the Latin and means in a nutshell: "Clear-Seeing" or "The Art of Seeing Clearly". In Ireland it is called: "Second-Sight". Intuition is more like "Inner-Sight". "Insight". In my case my brand of Intuition is connected to a form of Clair Audience. In a sense I hear voices or a voice in the back of my head. This has a direct link to my Qabalah studies in that it relates to The Major Trump The Hierophant Key 5 The Sign Taurus and the Hebrew letter Vav-Nail "To Penetrate." Numerical value: 6 Face value 5. Clair Audience also relates to The Moon Trump key 18 the Sign Pieces. The Hebrew letter Qoph-The Back of the Head." Clair Audience also would relate to the fact that I was trained in the Huna System of Hawaii where you listen to your "Inner-Voice". In my Divination Readings I incorporate the use of the cards or stones with my Intuitive "Inner Voice". I'm only speaking for myself not for any other's Psychic Experience. This is how "The Inner -Voice" manifest for me. It may easily be different for another Psychic. I've worked with Clair Audience for over 47 years since I was ten. I'm 57 now and still not dead. I'm very proud of this fact. By the way I don't feel Middle-Aged I feel quite young in point of fact. The old adage "Your as Young as You Feel", strongly applies to me and my situation in life. You might say that the little voice in the back of my head which I call "Fred" helps me feel younger then my years. It also helps that I don't have a gray or white hair on me. This comes from my Native American and Irish blood combined. In Huna the little voice in the back of the head is considered to be a child known as "The Low Self" or the "AumaKua" or the Subconscious Higher Self is the Adult Consciousness. I loved training in Huna. It was very uplifting and quite rewarding. The "Inner Voice " could also relate to my many years of Shamanic Training and my many years of being a trance-medium. Again I'm speaking of my own experience. Alas! with all this training I still do not have any Clairvoyant skill. To be fair to my clients I refer them to my favorite Clairvoyant "Astro-Wing" here on keen. She and I have both been on keen for about the same amount of time. Clairvoyants can give you locations, names and read minds. I as an Intuitive have none of these skills. This has been a major loss to me in my Psychic work and training. You would think with all my work with Fairies and the "Fairy Faith" that I would have been granted some form of Clairvoyant skill but it did not happen. Now some of you may ask "How do you achieve Clairvoyant skill?" Well you can be trained but many are simply born with the ability. A god-goddess given gift as it were. Many others acquire it through near death experiences an example should suffice. The famous Dutch Clairvoyant Peter Hurkos gained his Clairvoyant skill by a near fatal fall from a ladder while he was painting a house in Holland or so the story goes. He later found much fame by consulting on "The Boston Strangler" case. Now let's get back to the Powers of Intuition. Another way that my Intuition manifest is through having visions. I can see vistas and people and future and past events. Some of my old Trance-Medium training comes through with these visions and with my Divinatory work. I would suggest that for more quick info on Clairvoyant and Intuitive Powers Google them. You may also want to check out one of the groups that I moderate on yahoo. It is called "Making World-Wide Psychics." I will be posting to it very soon. Another area where my Intuition plays a part is with my "Dream Work" and my interpreting of Dreams. There is a strong connection with Dreams and Clairvoyant skill and vision. There is the concept of "Dreaming Clearly" and "Dreaming True". Then there is also the concept of the "Dream time " of the Aborigine's of Australia. A whole Inner-World of Dreams and Visions. "Dream time Working" was another form of training I underwent in the past. Well I hope this information has been of help to you. I look forward to seeing your comments on this blog post. Hey folks! I'm back! You can't keep a good Druid down. Well I've been gone for my usual reasons. Little or no money, Asthma and the usual computer problems. I now have a new computer so I can now update this regular blog. I'm still doing classes on Pagan-Magickal subjects and doing Divination Readings on Yahoo IM. You can see each card as I do the reading. Don't you just love technology? Very interesting times were living in. I am very happy how all of you are putting out such good information in your blogs. Keep up the good work. I am back with my old Psychic Reading Group "The Zodiac Group". It's based in Florida. I'm online with Zodiac 12 hours a day and Keen the other 12 hours. I work 24 hours a day. I sleep between calls. So far this arrangement is working for me. I've been back with them for 24 weeks now. I finally figured out how to do the bidding process here on keen and I'm getting more because of it. My situation here on Keen has greatly improved. I now have five listings here on Keen. Two of them are for the UK Keen. I hope Keen will soon allow us to send Free Minute offers to our UK clients. I have over 300 UK clients. My situation would vastly improve with this change. I'm very happy to see that I'm not the only Pagan here on Keen. I look forward to reading more Pagan-Magickal blogs here on Keen. The more the merrier. Now I'm going to switch gears and change the subject. Here is the post I promised some of you that I would post once I got my new computer. It is entitled: "Vibration It's Power and Purpose in Ritual Magick". Here it goes folks! I bet like me that some of you have been invited to a ritual be it Druid or Wiccan or general Pagan by a well intentioned Coven or Grove and when you get there you find that their ritual is completely scripted and possesses no Magickal emotion or content what so ever. They are just reading from a script and they just don't seem to have a clue or understand the first thing about Magickal Power and how it is supposed to work. Well just saying a sacred or a Name of Magickal Power without any emotion is not going to cut it. You need to do much more to get the desired affect. You need "Vibration". What is "Vibration"you might ask? Well I'm here to tell you. "Vibration" is when you Vibrate a Magickal Name or Word of Magickal Power. You put all of your emotion into the "Vibration". technique and let it fly. The affect becomes almost musical. To truly understand what I mean you need to hear my voice so I can Vibrate a Magical or Sacred Name for you. This can be arranged. In a nutshell you are extending the Vibrated word to the nth degree. Your taking the Vibrated word to it's limits and beyond. You need to use your Powers of Magickal Sight and Visualize the Magickal Force you are Evoking. This is the True Magickal Power in it's rawest form. The next time you go to a boring but well intentioned ritual ask if you can Vibrate one of the names of their sacred deities and see the True Magick happen. True Magick comes from your heart and your brain. Use the Power of Vibration to make your ritual real to you. If it was good enough for our Pagan-Magickal Brethren it should be good enough for us today this 21st Age. Ritual Magickians understood the concept of Vibration. They have been using Vibration for thousands of years as part of their Magickal Training. I'm sure that some of you have been trained in Ceremonial Magick and know about the Magickal Power of Vibration. Well that is what I have to say about this subject. Try using Vibration in your future rituals and spells and let me know if you can see a difference in the effect of said rituals and spells. I hope this information has been of help to you. Let's get some comments and feedback on this subject. This subject can be greatly expanded by you folks sharing your thoughts and experiences on it. Remember "Hearing is Believing". Hi! Folks! I'm back. Sorry I've been gone so long. My Asthma came back and my new computer came up with major issues. But here I am updating this blog. I really enjoyed doing the first one. I got 76 views but only one comment and it have nothing to do with Celtic Divination. I hope I get some better comments this time. Hey is it me or di May really suck. I only got 12 calls for the whole month which means I didn't get a lot of bills paid. I can only hope by the Goddess Bridgit that June will be better. I still haven't gotten a call for this month yet. Well we are only into the second day. Well I thought I would start off with some updated news. I want to begin by saying that I plan to read most of your blogs and give comments to them. This is what I do. I spend most of my time on the internet. I've been spending all day on Keen. I've been sending many of you offers of 5 Free Minutes many of you are my clients if you didn't know that little fact. I'm in many of your Keen groups as well. As I mentioned in my first blog I've been with Keen from the beginning. Keen has been up and down for me. Hopefully June will be an up for all of us. We are a family here on Keen. This blog could be a great unifing factor for us. Let's use it the best we can. Comment as much as you can on these blogs. Now for somemore news. Well in my first blog you found out that I co-owned 10 Pagan Teaching groups on Yahoo. Well in just 2 months this number has now grown to 15. Our latest group in Abbott's Inn is a Pagan-Magickal Humor group entitled: Order_of _Humor_Magick or the Mysteries of Vaudeville Occultism. I felt there was a need for more Pagan-Magickal comedy and it looks like I was right. The group is small but very active. I will be on keen in the daylight hours and Zodiac at night. I had to do this because how bad May was. Sometimes you have to make sacrfices in life. We Druids know all too well about this fact. I'm on many other blogs and I plan to update these as well. If you are on Yahoo360,MySpace,Hi5 and StumbleUpon these will all be updated in the next few days. If any of you want offers of 5 Free Minutes please let me know. Now I have a Proprosal for all of you. I would like to do a special service in this blog. I would like to start in the next blog a Celtic Myth, Legend and Divination Q and A. The next question I have for you all is how often should I plan to update this blog? I really need to know this. I'm still doing classes on Pagan-Magickal subjects and Divination Readings on Yahoo IM using my web-cam and mike. If any of you are interested in these services please let me know. Finally I would like to end this blog with somemore Celtic Divination titles. The first one is one of my favorites. This is one of my favorite Celtic authors. I recommended one of her husbunds Divination systems in the last blog. It is entitled: "The Celtic Wisdom Tarot" by the great Caitlin Mathews the wife of the equally great John Mathews. I highly reccommend this Divination set. She uses Celtic Ogam-Ogham through all of the images in the deck. The artwork is unique and unusual.

Hi! Folks! This is AD(arch-druid) Stephen also known as Stephen6580. I've been with keen from the beginning. I'm happy to see that keen now allows us to do blogs. This is my sixth blog here on the Internet. I enjoy doing these pieces. Mostly on my other blogs I've been talking about the death of one of my oldest Pagan friends. His name was Robert Anton Wilson. He was 74 when he died. He was a famous Pagan comedic- writer. Have any of you ever heard of him? He will be missed by many. I knew him for 37 years. I also been promoting a group which I don't co-own. The group is entitled: "Mind-N-Magick".com This group offers an awesome Pagan-Magickal tool bar which has something for everyone. Here's the kicker folks it's free. Keen should set up their own tool bar. Let's hope they see this idea of mine. For those who do not know me I've been an Arch-Druid since 1971. My Druid Grove is the Hazelnut Mother Grove. This Grove is now a Pagan Teaching Group and a cyberDruid Grove. I've worked on many groups like keen for over 20 years. I was the top reader at the "Salem Connection" for 5 years till they were bought out in 98. "Salem Connection was the only Pagan Psychic Reading Service in this country. I was able to teach Pagan-Magickal classes as well as my Divination Readings. Today I co-run 11 Pagan Teaching Groups and moderate 6 others. The question being: "What is Celtic Divination"? The answer is that it represents something different for every Celtic Diviner. My system is unique to myself. I've had many years to develop this system. I use many Celtic Divination techniques in my system. The systems vary with the client and the student. One of my students likes to mix systems. I am giving him a class on Norse Divination as well as Celtic Divination. One of the decks we are using is entitled: "The Runic Tarot" by Caroline Smith and John Astrop. I highly recommend this deck. Another Celtic deck I use is the "Druid Craft Tarot" by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm and Illustrated by Will Worthington . This I consider one of my best decks out of my 428. There are many Celtic and Norse Divination decks and systems out on the market today you can get them on Amazon.com, E-Bay and the one I recommend "Mind-N-Magick".com I've worked on this Celtic Divination System for over 37 years. Another aspect of my Celtic Divination System is "Celtic Astrology". In this regard I have some examples that I recommend. The first 2 are by the same author. They are the following: "The Handbook of Celtic Astrology" and "The Celtic Lunar Zodiac", How to interpret your moon sign". Both were by Helena Paterson. The second book was illustrated by Margaret Walty. The 3 offering may be out of print. "Celtic Astrology Decoder". I hope this information has been helpful. Of course we are only scratching the service here. I don't know how long this blog is allowed to be. I have over 30 Celtic related decks and at least 10 Celtic related Divination Systems.
