Shhh...God at Work

My apologies for slacking off in the blogging department these days. You've heard of that old saying...'when it rains it pours'! After a drought period I have been "rained upon"; forced to pull out the old umbrella & raingear--wondering where in the heck have my 'hip-boots' run off to! :)

First off, my current publisher wanted me to re-write a large portion of my book because it sounded too "New Age"....imagine that! ;) Being the determined Virgo that I am, I began exploring other options. Found a few--now I can choose! I love choices!

As soon as I am certain which publisher I am going with for this next book & contract is signed, I will 'unveil' the title of "the book" that I have been working so hard on since spring. (down to the last 20 pages now).

Secondly, from a brainstorming session "Let Your Heart Heal Fund Raiser" idea was born--now we are involved in raising funds for worthy causes through book sells & book signing events!

And just in case that doesn't keep me busy enough--The Private Party Consultations has taken off--we have bookings through the end of next month! Only a few openings left! Add to the mix, I have several book-signing event (not fund raiser types) scheduled through end of November!

Did I mention I love the rain?? For each raindrop that lands on me, is but another blessing--tis' truly a blessed life I live! What I thought was a drought period was but a resting period--preparing me for what is to come! See folks, wonderful things happen when we sit quietly, still our minds, and utililze the "hands-off" approach when God is at work!

My First Interview...

Today I had my first first face-to-face interview as a "published author"--I had phone interviews for some pre-press promotions, but this was my first "real" interview.

Was I nervous? Of course! As I drove to the local restaurant to meet the reporter I thought I would hyperventilate! But I solved that dilemma: I decided to practice what I teach! I thought to myself, what would I say to a client who was faced with a similar situation? I would remind them to 'breathe'...yeah; breathing is ALWAYS a good thing! After breathing was mastered, I gave myself a little pep talk...I said things like, "I am Awesome!", "I am a Divine Being of God.", "I am an Intelligent, Gifted, Extraordinary Person!" and "I Deserve this Success!"

OOoo-rah!! {Ahem, any Marines here? If so you know what OO-rah means!}

As fate would have it, I pull into the parking lot at the same time as the reporter; we actually parked next to one another! Happily I soon discovered that Lisa was down-to-earth, very friendly, and we connected immediately! My life is truly blessed--God knew exactly the appropriate person to send to conduct my first interview.

Like a parachute jump, it is scary and exhilarating at the same time, to know that you have achieved a goal, won a prize, or published your first book! So I decided to stop feeling nervous, go with the flow, and enjoy myself. The interview was fun, exciting, and truly exhilarating! I enjoyed talking to Lisa, answering her questions, letting her know more about my writing, the book, and my Life Coaching Services business. In return, she shared some information about herself, her writing, and her personal life. I really had a great time!

Here's a few of the questions & answers that I can recall...

Reporter: When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Me: Well, to be honest with you, I didn't decide to be a "writer" per say. I have always enjoyed writing; expressing myself on paper, allowing my imagination to gallop freely from my mind, to the pen, to paper. My writing is really just "me" on paper. It's like all this "stuff:" is inside of me...and I have to get it out somehow--writing is my release, my tool.

Reporter: Tell me a little about your new book. Such as, what's it about, what was your inspiration, and your favorite piece from the book.

Me: Ramblings from the Heart, was written after the sudden death of my finance’. It is a collection of poems, anecdotes, and inspirational messages drawn from my own life and personal heartbreak.. Basically it is my personal journey as I traveled through the grieving process and learned to live again. My favorite piece would have to be, Love Endures, as it was written specifically for my finance' after his death.

Reporter: How did you select that particular title for the book?

Me: That's was easy...as you can tell I tend to be somewhat of a 'chatterbox' and tend to "ramble" on, and on, and on! And since every piece written for this book flowed directly from my heart...Ramblings from the Heart, was the only choice for a title!

Reporter: I read that after finishing your military career you changed careers and now your chosen profession is listed as Life Coach; exactly what does that entail?

Me: (At this point we discussed my Life Coaching Services business; explaining what a Life Coach provides; my methods, my qualifications, and of course if I had plans to continue doing what I am doing--naturally as I love what I do I answered yes!)

We then discussed the book I am currently working on, a daily devotional containing 365 messages intended for daily enrichment, enlighten, and spiritual nourishment. Also, we discussed some personal background information...the standard place of birth, my children, my family’s reaction to the book, etc etc

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, Lisa informed me that not only is her editor promoting the book signing event in several publications this week, Lisa will be attending the book signing event with a photographer--they will cover the entire event! The week following the book signing they will run the full story about me, the book, and the book signing event. Not only is this awesome publicity for my new book, it gives me the chance to meet new people and explore new opportunities!

Bottom line is that I really had a great time and am feeling upbeat, positive, and excited about this upcoming event!

Mercury Retrograde Stories & Free Readings

Personally, this has been a very interesting past month. I experienced several 'absolute endings' in my life--one was a death--and I have already posted about my adventures while traveling. Dreams...

Pay attention to your dreams tonight! We often receive important messages while we are sleeping as we are more open. Many times I awake with the feeling that I have traveled great distances or have been given instructions while I was in my sleep state. To ensure you remember these important messages, I suggest you keep a dream journal--a place to write down your thoughts, feelings, and ideas upon awakening.

Speaking of dreams...this has been a long work day for me. I throughly enjoyed connecting with everyone, as well as conducting & posting the seven mini-readings, but now I am going to call it a night. Seven Free Readings...as promised!

Keep in mind, these are only mini-readings that focus only on how that person feels at this time. Lady, you have a true thinker here! As frustrating as that may be, this is a man that will ‘analyze’ something to death! Goodness…he needs to learn to go with the flow and not worry so much about the details! On the flipside, Michael appreciates the way you challenge him mentally, that you have opened his eyes, give him more clarity in his life, and help him keep his life more balanced and calm. He sees you as the logically one, a person who remains unbiased and is objective when it comes to seeing others points of view. He has a very romantic nature and delights in romantic surprises, peaceful times together, and overall is a very thoughtful person. Not much for having spare time to devote to a relationship, he feels he has to plan events far in advance to be able to spend time together. And yes Carol it does appear that he does want to spend romantic time together…but only after the rest of his life is in place or balanced! While he may go for periods of times where he appears detached from you—both spiritually & emotionally—this is his way of figuring this out. This will be especially true over the course of the next couple months—he isn’t running, just trying to figure out the best way to proceed.

Wow…sorry, but that was the first thing I came to mind when I started reading on this. It appears your SO is prone to comings/goings, bouncing in & out of your life, and you never seems to know where you stand with SO. If this is someone you have met recently, be cautious, as this seems to be a pattern of theirs. SO comes to me as very imbalanced, confused—blowing hot and cold, causing a great deal of heartache. While there appears to be a strong romantic connection & intense emotions coming from SO to you—this person is unable to commit to anyone at this time Curiously enough, it does appear that SO is a person that would make a fine match later down the road. However, at this point in time, I would not take SO too seriously and keep things light, carefree, go with the flow, and don’t let all this confusing behavior disrupt your life.

Several words flash before my eyes…fate, time, luck, and laughter! This guy loves to laugh…and to make you laugh! It’s like I am being overwhelmed with sounds of laughter, and feelings of giddiest! Although Marty has somewhat of a quirky way of viewing live don’t think anyone would call him boring. A very sociable person, Marty loves to entertain and be entertained—to the point it could cause problems within the relationship. He looks to you as his equal, believing that you see only the positive in every situation or person. You make him laugh, even on his not-so-good days, and that is very important to him. If there are disagreements, and there seem to be several, he is not the type to hold resentments toward you, and can’t understand why anyone would. First word here…confused! And that would be my confusion in this instance…

As I look at Chris, it feels as if this person may be someone on the edge of your life. It does appear that there is an attraction or link between you, but it doesn’t feel as if an actual relationship as formed yet. It feels as if Chris is more like a friend, colleague, or casual acquaintance; as if there hasn’t been time or opportunity to develop strong romantic ties. There is some type of imbalance here—perhaps at one time something may have existed or perhaps friendship is being mistaken for romantic interest. Whatever the case may be, I am sorry but I am not picking up a romantic link between you.

This is one of those readings, where I would like to be way off-base, as I do not like to be the deliver of unpleasant news.
