There is nothing more scary then when an illness, a horrible accusation, death or divorce come into our lives. Its as if we are on a run away train of fear. Here are some tools to reach acceptance and calm. And no, your angels have not deserted you.

With calm and acceptance, what seemed like demons, turns back into the faces of our angels.

There is probably no better time to walk our talk, to trust our guides, and to have faith in our angels, then when a 9-11 happens to our personal lives. Maybe its a slam against our reputation, an unpredictable health crisis, a death of someone we love, or a loss of a job. The truth is that every so often a crisis will happen to each and every one of us. Are we ready?

We have our lives neatly packaged in predictable insurance policies, 401 K, a ready made plan for the end of the world, and spiritual quotations that seem wise and right to say at all the appropriate times. But when the crisis happens to US.....RARELY is there a warning, and seldom is the crisis what we thought it was going to be.

Amazingly if we have not been walking our own talk, hearing someone say the spiritual cliches we ourselves said, {before the veil of predictability was so rudely ripped away}, may even anger us. This is fear talking. We want answers! Now! We are overwhelmed and on a run away train. Just yesterday everything was fine.

The whole world takes on a different "texture", smell and feel. Fear is like this. Once it sets in, what we have been preaching as spiritualists, is tested to the core. At times, it feels like our angels have left us. But they haven't.

Fear can even make our friends and angels look like demons against us. Acceptance of our situation, brings calm, sleep and healing. With calm and acceptance, what seemed like demons, turns back into the faces of our angels and our dear friends again.

Once our calm has returned, we realize no matter what has happened, spiritual hands of warmth and guidance reach to help all around us. Our "inner voice" says kinder things, and is less fear based. Even if one does not believe in angels, calm and acceptance are angelic and powerful "tools" that help us to cope with fear.

Sociopaths * they thrive on your compassion

Dear Ann Marie, My X husband says he still loves me, but does not meet his responsibilities. I allow his impulsive visits with the children to be within my home. He won't change, but claims he wants to be the husband I need. It makes no sense. I would like to move on and find new love. There he is again as if nothing happened. I can't shake him off! Am I on the right path?

Dear Jessie, It is important if you want new love and a good life, to remember you must understand this "enigma" man feels no remorse about leading you on with self pity; and most likely uses the children as a tool to get his way. The following is seen:

He will not change. He will not give you the relationship you seek. Just more games.
Every time you bring him in your home, you lead him on to believe "this is good enough". What more could he want then a 2 hour family within old turf?
At this point you must remember that as SWEET as his "mask" may be, he will use your kindness to his benefit....{and probably everyone else he knows as well.}
Do the new man {seen in January} a favor and establish BOUNDARIES with your X NOW.
Do not allow your home to be the meeting place.
Find a park, or mall or visiting place outside your home to exchange the children for visits. Leave for 2 hours and do some shopping. Come back at the established time and pick them up. Millions of women do this successfully. So can you. This places the power in your hands.
Understand that some sociopaths use crocodile tears, to establish that mom is mean to daddy.
DON'T FALL FOR IT.
Not only are you setting boundaries for the new man in your future, ......but if your X is only using the children as a tool to be with you, he will suddenly want to be with them Less.
So for now, this is your homework, and sounds like you are well on your path to finding happiness. I applaud you.

NOTE: Sociopaths are simply people that seem to have no conscious about leading people on to get their way. They have no remorse about what their actions create, yet understand how to fit in to society and be accepted, loved and entrance others with great charm. Princess or Doormat * Which are You?

Jesus did not ask "Am I the son of God?" Buddha didn't ask "Am I the Enlightened One?" Maybe we can take lessons on the effect that quiet confidence has on others. When one assumes they should be given respect amazingly others will do so. When giving advice, also, showing confidence in ones voice tone is the same as saying "I know what I am talking about." This has nothing to do with loudness or bragging.

The Doormat Asks ...The Princess Assumes

The doormat asks, "Do you love me?" "Should I take full responsibility? Should I pay the bill again?" Inside they sizzle with self pity and resentment. In abusive relationships the doormat believes being patient for bad behavior is the way one is loved more. Those that hear the doormat's insecure voice think, "Should we like you? Should we let you do it all? Why not let you pay the bill again?" "Why should we change for you?"

The Princess never asks "Do you love me?" but assumes she is loved. The princess never asks if she should do it all, but assumes the task at hand will be shared by all. The Princess speaks with assurance and composure, thereby commanding silently others treat her with respect. When the Princess assumes too much she becomes a rude Deva. The road to being overthrown will follow shortly.

Spiritual Leaders

Spiritual leaders show kindness through their eyes, smile and works. Most are capable of throwing a tantrum if disrespected. An example would be Jesus throwing the chicken crates of the merchants selling for profit in the temple. A leader never asks of others if they believe them to be a leader. They assume leadership and are treated as one. This will change if they cause harm to their followers. The best of spiritual leaders respect that leadership must be earned through good works in order to stay in favor.

A FEW TIPS ON BEING A PRINCESS

No matter whether at work or in a relationship, assume that your opinion should be respected.
On a date if you are tired of getting stuck with the bill don't assume its your turn again. Smile kindly, fetch your wrap, look at the bill and say, "meet you at the entrance after you've paid."

Yes. Amelia’s addiction to sacrifice to the public eye is what killed her. She did not mind, at first, the islands test of her endurance. She was a tom boy, fire maker and a "Survival Island" contestant before it's time. In the early days of the wreck, she is seen fantasizing herself in a "Swiss Family Robinson" story plot. She believed she would be saved just as all great adventure story characters do. She did a lot of Zen contemplation on the island and had she lived, the island would have been Amelia’s 40 days and 40 nights of the wilderness. She would have come back a completely changed person.

Did Amelia die alone with the sand crabs?

Yes. The crabs at first were her audience and she would even speak to them. The crabs were relentless and always around her watching. She had a love hate for them. When her spirits were completely down, the crabs were her only companionship. In the end, as if sentenced to die at the inquisition, the crabs quietly and efficiently were Amelia’s pall bearers as they took her body parts to the sea and their homes.

Every moment was a struggle for Amelia. To eat and catch drinking water took strategy and patience. She had neither. She learned how to catch and eat what consumed her in the end. It was a balanced existence of daily mundane struggle and inner contemplation as she realized the irony of her final adventure. Her brilliant mind kept her from going crazy.

She was a gentle soul. Delicate and small boned she adapted well to the tasks of catching fish, building fires, and in her mind imagined the Goddess she hoped to be for the public eye, was who she actually was for the true grit of survival on the island.. She did a lot of thinking. Her small body became pathetically thin. But this was not what killed her. She did not die of starvation.

In all actuality Amelia was happy with her simple tried adventure to death. It was what she was running from, flying from and in escape from to begin with. She realized the island always had been her final test, the adventure she had been working up to. She lay remnants of broken make up jars and shells in positions she hoped would be found later for a mysterious and intriguing archeology find, a tribute to her once civil life.

The Jeweled Sea Horse Box. {Past meets Present}

When I was little I had a magical jewelry box. The lid was encrusted with small sea shells and coral. In the center, a tiny sea horse was inlaid in a bed of delicate dew drop rhinestones. I kept my most precious treasures in the box and only showed it to special people. When I was lonely, the box transported me to a far away world of mermaids and beautiful pirates in flowing white shirts.

Later, when sophistication became a part of maturity, rhinestones were considered cheap and sea horses endangered. I wanted real diamonds, authentic rubies. I saw my box as tacky. Instead of loving the sea shell encrusted box of wonder, I wanted to be swooped off my feet by passion.. To my disappointment, I found human relationships were never as consistent as my beloved sea horse box. I had a marriage, a wonderful child and divorced. I felt my innocence sail away in rock and roll relationships that became tainted. I had a mysterious carved box for my Tarot Cards. To my surprise I found that in helping others come back to earth, I did too. The teacher truly does learn through her students; So does the reader.

I forgot about my jeweled sea horse box entirely. As a single mom I worked in a Packing House for 22 years, reading in coffee houses and boutiques on weekends. In a world far removed from little girl sweetness I embraced my inner warrior to get through each day and afford to live. OUR U.S. PRESIDENT, THE BARBIE DOLL

In the old days I grew up believing the President had full power. I now realize no matter WHO's president, it is the Congress who REALLY runs the show. As time goes by and we vote prettier people into the presidential office, it is clear to me that the President is becoming a cosmetic Barbie "blame" figure {whose brilliance is used merely as an "idea person."}

Have you noticed how our presidents are looking more like movie stars?

Have you noticed how Presidents become basically the "blame machine" for the countries radio announcers, complainers and instant gratification demands?

Have you noticed how no matter how many brilliant ideas a President has,..it's the congress and senate who give permission?
Have you noticed how quickly presidents lose their magical influence?
Have you noticed how the President of the US has become much like Queen Elizabeth…a “beautiful symbol” of democracy…diplomacy…paper signer…and idea man, { imprisoned and straight jacketed to inside rules.}
I NEVER REALIZED its the Congress who has real presidential status!

They broke up a year ago, and though she could not bug his phone to see who he was calling, she could read his Face Book page. Cyber gifts and flowers sprinkled with flirty messages were all over it! Every day she checked his Face Book and cried. It was so easy to keep up on him! She was absolutely convinced each and every woman connecting with him was a blooming relationship. God it hurt! So why did she keep going back there?

HIS CYBER HAREM

He sensed that things were broken and unhappy in her. The most important thing she could do is go out with other men, move on. She needed to stop worrying if he was doing the same thing. The women she saw on his Face book were not real relationships. The majority were all part of the pretend world of pretend gifts and pretend sensuality. {The more women there were on his page, the more studly his friends thought he was. They believed his cyber harem ...just like she did.}

FACE BOOK, BREAK UPS AND STALKING

Many women blow out their 40th birthday cake candles with a sinking feeling of defeat. But to their amazement they find younger men are looking back more. Why?

PHEROMONES! You are wafting out a silent sexual odor as intoxicating as an 18 year old boy’s. Its nature’s way of signaling to the opposite sex you are prime and ready for pregnancy. For many women in their early 40’s this is their last chance at safe child birth. With reasonable body fitness and a good hair day, a woman in her early 40’s has pheromones and looks that scream like a bare naked mermaid singing to a ship wrecked sailor.

OTHER REASONS WHY OLDER WOMEN/YOUNGER MEN WORK OUT

But this is not the only reason the phenomena of older women and younger men are hitching up these days. Women in their middle years are looking much younger. Body, skin and hair are more natural and fit. Add “polish” and “confidence” to this artillery and you are a very interesting person. The New Age man looks for the “person” inside the body. And just like that well toned body machine, confidence sometimes takes a long time to develop……..say, 40 years or more.

True. There are women executives in their 20’s and 30’s with raging confidence. They are the living walking Barbie dolls of this earth. Youth means growth. Men are often aware that with a young beautiful woman comes high maintenance. An older woman’s toxic beauty is satisfaction with where she is in the present. Often she is completely satisfied not to have children, a huge wedding, or to have the life of a Barbie doll.

And how do I know all this? I have been married for twelve years to a man 14+ years younger then my self. Kevin is into body building and healthy eating. Because he is younger and of the more liberated male era, he washes the clothes with out question. {He says I leave clumps of Tide in his underwear.} He is a neat freak. I am free form. He worries and watches over me. I am very independent. He is a Republican. I am an Independent. He is a racing fanatic. I am into sculpture gardening. He lives for wide green grass to golf on. I live for artistic gardening of wide green grass.

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE FIRST WITH A YOUNGER MAN

1} You may often stare deeply into the store clerks eyes as you check out your groceries wondering “if they can see” the age gulf between you and your partner. This too will pass within a year or two, as you and your partner stay together.

2} As you cement your bond together, the insurance man/ bank loan officer will ask your ages on a combined policy. As you bravely announce your individual wide spread date of births you will see your attendant take a small gulp, and a quick glance back and forth at your faces. They will then act like its nothing unusual. Get used to it. Be proud.

3} Some of your girlfriends will make macho guttural sounds of satisfaction, similar to the sounds middle age men make when an amigo dates a young Barbie Doll. Ignore them. Act very casual. I tell you this because no relationship is written in blood. In the case of an older woman – younger man union break up, the first conclusion made by others will be that it was the age difference. So do not gloat now. They will use it against you later.

4} Some stead fast true friends may not know how to act. Once they know there is an age difference, especially one over 10 years, they may choose to distance you from their couple get togethers. This may hurt.

These people don’t know how to relate. Especially when an older woman amigo brings a younger lover to the tribal circle, men seem especially uncomfortable when their wives treat the younger man guest like a celebrity.

5} DEFEATING SELF SABOTAGE may occur in some women when dating younger men. They search the eyes of their lover for shame, when inviting them in the company of a pretty young woman. MY CONCLUSION ON OLDER WOMEN / YOUNGER MEN

My mother always told me that women age slower then men in interests and passion. Sadly she would sit next to her older husband who stared at the TV completely set in his ways. She would say to me at coffee, “Honey, if a woman marries a man at least 10 years younger then herself, she should be about equal in life span and energy level to him. Add to that a desire to stay fit and trim, 10 years equals 1 year in male/female age difference.

Hoarding the Wounded

One of the greatest rules that Nurturers can remember is that its OK to heal and guide broken winged birds, wounded animals and needy acquaintances. Its not OK to allow personal space to lose its boundaries so that one has nothing left to give, emotionally or financially .

Becoming a slave to the addiction to "helping" lost souls, may secretly be a way to silence a personal cry for empowerment. One day the worst possible scenario can happen. Waking up and realizing there is nothing left to give..no more money to loan, or food to spare puts the hoarder in the position of being labeled "the abuser." Often the homeless or broken just go to the next emotional hoarder and reap the benefits of stroking their ego. For over packed helpless animals or adapted children, the "hoarder of the wounded" risks being hauled away to court, headlined in the papers and radio as the worst possible villain. Better to guide with boundaries, and avoid the pang of being mislabeled. The purpose of healing is for the wounded ones to recover and fly free, inspired and healthy. It is important to announce when you have reached over load. It is not healthy to stay in relationships with the wounded and lost simply because one desperately needs to be needed.

SIGNS YOU ARE A HOARDER OF THE WOUNDED

You go out of your way to help, asking for nothing back in return ever.

Every room and corner is filled with lost people or animals. Space and privacy are completely gone.
Crates, trailers, garages and kennels are filled to the max with animals lost and purchased.
You go out of your way to be friends with lost souls, mostly to become their leader and guide.
You go out of your way to avoid strong healthy people, as they make you uncomfortable.

Your life begins to look like a crash pad for the homeless

You begin to lend money for the thrill of being “owed to”. The rules are all on your terms.

Your relationships consist of lost souls that never get it together.

You only feel comfortable around rejected people. {They never feel you are really one of them and even check you for wires, using your strength as a cover up.}

Your so busy catching everyone else when they fall, you forget what its like to have people catch YOU when you fall.

Please know I am not advocating turning a blind eye to the helpless....but keeping your boundaries.

HEAL THYSELF FIRST, TO HEAL OTHERS

Understand that people will see you as who you are...regardless of who and what you "save".

Set boundaries to curb your self from loaning money out knowing full well you won't be paid back..

Reach out to someone you feel is as strong as you are. Balance your circle of friends with strong and the wounded.

Take in only enough animals that you can afford to feed and take to the Vet comfortably. One sick animal can kill all your pets. Over crowding is inhumane....not compassionate.

When you hear the inner voice of insecurity beat you up around strong people, hold your head high, lower your voice pitch and speak slowly.You need strong people too!

Allow others to heal you when you’re sad. You will be cherished more.

A good rule of thumb is to help selflessly away from home at shelters, but not to let your home become a YCA or Animal Shelter. Reason with your self.

Everyone needs boundaries. Nurture with love unconditionally, help out in shelters and avoid being mislabeled when your compassionate heart takes on too much .

Remember even Jesus and Buddha healed the broken, but went home to their equal minded Tribe for support, love and honor.
