Eclipses are important Astrological Events. Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. Approxima- tely every six months, the three-dimensional reality of our universe comes alive as the Moon swings through the Earth's shadow. This is a Lunar Eclipse This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun . . or, when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere. Unlike Solar Eclipses, Lunar Eclipses are completely safe to watch. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration brighter and easier to see. The eclipse will be completely visible over Africa and Europe and South America. It could be seen rising over eastern North America.

This month’s eclipse is a prenumbral lunar eclipse that will take

place on August 5 and is the second of two Lunar Eclipses in this cycle of eclipses. It is rare that we have two Lunar Eclipses two months in a row. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Aquarius at 13º43’. At exactly 8:55pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Leo at 13º43’. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Leo blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 13º43’ with the Sun and Moon. As we know, earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon.

A Lunar Eclipse strongly emphasizes this emotional reaction!! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by a Lunar eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. Every month we have a New Moon, but only every six months do we have eclipses. A Solar Eclipse is when the Moon is exactly between the Sun and the Earth and blocks the light of the Sun from the Earth. Solar Eclipses are very powerful New Moons and are known to herald significant endings and beginnings. Events that are triggered by an eclipse usually take six months to unfold, so you can expect this process of change to continue as you begin to feel like a flower opening its’ petals. Special opportunities to break old patterns become apparent as you begin to make major changes in your life. Metamorphosis is another word associated with eclipses. The Solar Eclipse on July 22, 2009 occurs at 10:35pm at 29°27’ degrees of Cancer. This eclipse will be visible across southeast Asia and the western Pacific and will last over 6½ minutes.

A Lunar Eclipse is when the shadow of the Moon is on the Earth. It occurs only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun: when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere and is completely safe to watch with the naked eye. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration brighter and easier to see. The moon looks red because while the Moon remains completely within Earth's umbral shadow, indirect sunlight still manages to reach and illuminate it. However, this sun- light must first pass deep through the Earth's atmosphere which filters out most of the blue colored light. The remaining light is a deep red or orange in color and is much dimmer than pure white sunlight and are powerful ‘course correctors’ meant to change your life.

This month’s eclipse is a partial lunar eclipse that will take place on July 7 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Capricorn at 15º24’. At exactly 5:21am the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Cancer at 15º24’. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Cancer blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 15º24’ with the Sun and Moon. MAY 2009 OUTLOOK

Happy Birthday TAURUS and GEMINI Natives!!
:-) Welcome to MAY! You're full of life this month, but what exactly are you achieving from all this activity? There's a chance you'll be getting little in return for all your gallant efforts. This can be frustrating but a bright idea at the end of the month will help you find a solution to this. You're likely to feel all hot and bothered this May , but try not to let the sun go your head. Just remember that keeping call means keeping calm. The best advice for you is avoid midday burn out and instead make the most of warm balmy nights which is much more your style. Evenings are your time so get plenty of siestas in order to make the most of those midnight fiestas. The desire to let go of current concerns and head for greener pastures is stoked by the Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron.

The big news this month is that Mercury turns retrograde on May 6th at 1° Gemini and goes back to 22° Taurus when it Stations Direct on May 30th. When Mercury goes retrograde you can expect a higher frequency of misunderstandings as ‘retrograde’ implies inward and Mercury rules the mind. What is interesting here is that Mercury turns retrograde on a degree emphasizing spiritual development. You will probably find yourself withdrawing from the world as you reflect on all the thoughts that will be spinning in your head. You will be cutting through old habit patterns as you look closely at the flow of your mental processes. (Sounds rather deep, doesn’t it!) You will now have the opportunity to adjust your thoughts, attitudes and decisions so as to have a better understanding of your life. You will also want to make lists - lists of ‘things to do’. At exactly 2:30pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon in Leo through the constellation of Aquarius at 20º60'. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Aquarius blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 20º60' with the Sun and Moon. Generally, Earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon and this Full Moon is no exception. This eclipse in Leo brings egos down to size. Normally, a Lunar Eclipse emphasizes emotional reactions. Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. The three dimensional reality of our universe comes alive in a graceful celestial ballet as the Moon swings through the Earth's shadow approximately every six months. This is a Lunar Eclipse This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun . . . or, when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere. Unlike Solar Eclipses, Lunar Eclipses are completely safe to watch. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A Lunar Eclipse can be observed with nothing more than the naked eye. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration brighter and easier to see.

This month’s eclipse is a partial lunar eclipse that will take place on August 16 and is the second of two Lunar Eclipses in 2008. Most of Europe and Africa will see the entire eclipse. All of South America and Australia will be able to see part of it. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Aquarius at 24º21’. At exactly 9:11pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Leo at 24º21’. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Leo blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 24º21’ with the Sun and Moon. An eclipse occurs when the orbits of the Moon and the Earth align closely enough together with the Sun and the Moon to block the light of the Sun from the Earth (a Solar Eclipse), or the Moon (a Lunar Eclipse). Every month we have a New Moon, but only every six months do we have eclipses. A Solar Eclipse is when the Moon is exactly between the Sun and the Earth and blocks the light of the Sun from the Earth. Solar Eclipses are very powerful New Moons and are known to herald significant endings and beginnings. The ancient rule is that the effects of a Solar Eclipse last as long in years as the eclipse lasts in hours. Events that are triggered by an eclipse usually take six months to unfold, so you can expect this process of change to continue as you begin to feel like a flower opening its’ petals Special opportunities to break old patterns become apparent as you begin to make major changes in your life. Metamorphosis is the word associated with eclipse. The Solar Eclipse on August 1, 2008 occurs at 10:14am at 9°32 degrees of Leo. The entire month of June is full with the energy of confusion and illumination as our focus shifts from our outer to our inner worlds. Mercury continues in retrograde motion until the 19th. Jupiter is moving in retrograde motion until Sept 7, 2008. Neptune is retrograde until Nov 1, and Pluto is retrograde until Sept 8. The best way to handle this uncertainty is to be willing to adapt to events as they unfold. The beginning of a change such as this might well be learning to express yourself in a better way. As the way we approach others slowly changes, the results we experience shift accordingly, and ultimately become more satisfying.

With four (4!) planets moving retrograde this month, let’s discuss what all this means.
