An eclipse occurs when the orbits of the Moon and the Earth align closely enough together with the Sun and the Moon to block the light of the Sun from the Earth (a Solar Eclipse), or the Moon (a Lunar Eclipse). Metamorphosis is the word associated with eclipse. The Solar Eclipse on August 1, 2008 occurs at 10:14am at 1°32 degrees of Leo. Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. The three dimensional reality of our universe comes alive in a graceful celestial ballet as the Moon swings through the Earth's shadow approximately every six months. This is a Lunar Eclipse This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun . . . or, when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere. Unlike Solar Eclipses, Lunar Eclipses are completely safe to watch. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A Lunar Eclipse can be observed with nothing more than the naked eye. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration brighter and easier to see.

This month’s eclipse is a partial lunar eclipse that will take place on August 16 and is the second of two Lunar Eclipses in 2008. Most of Europe and Africa will see the entire eclipse. All of South America and Australia will be able to see part of it. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Aquarius at 24º21’. At exactly 9:11pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Leo at 24º21’. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Leo blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 24º21’ with the Sun and Moon. Generally, Earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon. A Lunar Eclipse emphasizes this emotional reaction!! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by a Lunar eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. Happy Birthday GEMINI and CANCER Natives!!
The entire month of June is full with the energy of confusion and illumination as our focus shifts from our outer to our inner worlds. Mercury continues in retrograde motion until the 19th. Jupiter is moving in retrograde motion until Sept 7, 2008. Neptune is retrograde until Nov 1, and Pluto is retrograde until Sept 8. The best way to handle this uncertainty is to be willing to adapt to events as they unfold. The beginning of a change such as this might well be learning to express yourself in a better way. As the way we approach others slowly changes, the results we experience shift accordingly, and ultimately become more satisfying.

With four (4!) planets moving retrograde this month, let’s discuss what all this means. Happy Birthday Taurus and Gemini natives!!

The big news this month is that Mercury travels through Gemini, the sign of the twins, from May 2 to July 10, 2008. Creativity and expression of your true self reigns!! You’ll feel an irrepressible urge to express your feelings, observations, and opinions through speaking, teaching others, and learning from them. April 2008 - Good News about Eris!!

The big news this month happens on April 2nd with Pluto, the planet of extremes, turning retrograde at 1° Capricorn. Pluto stays retrograde until September 9, 2008. Pluto signifies our perspective on the world our conscious and subconscious. Since so many of Pluto’s qualities are centered on the deeper mysteries of life, the house position of Pluto in your own personal chart, and aspects to it, can show you how to attain a deeper understanding of the importance of your spiritual life. On another level, you can experience a ‘death’ of your old self when you realize the deeper significance of your life.This is the time to get rid of anything that is preventing you from becoming your best self. In the process will find youeself cleaning out closets, getting rid of old shoes, old clothes, old pictures and things that were once an important part of you . You may even be ‘cleaning out’ your friendship closet. You may realize that certain people who were once a very important part of your life have suddenly disappeared, or that you have nothing in common with them. This process is very necessary as you create an emptiness and a void. Keep in mind as you are throwing out all that old ‘stuff’ that the Universe does NOT like a void, so you will quickly fill it with something new. Thus, the New You begins to come into being!! This is a very exciting time for all of us!!

More exciting news comes to us with the discovery and acknowledgement of a new planet - ERIS! Even though termed a "dwarf planet" along with Pluto, Eris was discovered in 2005 from plates going back to 2003, and originally nicknamed Xena. Eris is the only planet-type object that was temporarily named for a television drama heroine. This planet, well beyond Pluto, has an orbit of 556 years and was discovered as it traveled through the constellation of Aries. Eris’ discovery increases the size of the solar system to double the original diameter. It is too early to make a definitive statement regarding all the meanings of this new planet but some preliminary qualities attributed to Eris are those that represent her mythological character. She is one who struggles against injustice and oppression. She has her war-like and even blood-thirsty side, with the higher manifestation of defending the weak and standing up for oneself. Her placement and aspects to other planets correlate to the underdog warrior, speaking truth to power, and with also a willingness to resort to whatever means necessary to achieve her goals. It will be interesting to see how this new planet will show herself to us earthlings. Only time and research will tell. :-)

This month’s Full Moon takes place on the 20th at 6:25am EST and occurs at 0 °43’ Scorpio. The New Moon occurs on the 5th at 16 °44’ Aries at 11:56pm. The New Moon starts a whole new cycle for you and will affect the area of your life where this New Moon energy lands in your personal Astrological Chart.

Happy Birthday PISCES and ARIES Natives!!
:-) They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. How can that be true? After all, surprising Uranus electrifies lucky Jupiter through the month. Expect a series of growingly good opportunities throughout the month. March forth!! After Mars enters Cancer on the 4th of March, it will remain there until the 9th of May. During this time you will have the tenacity, intuition, and sense of timing to successfully make the most cherished dreams into exciting realities. You’ll be inclined to examine your roots and traditions, a process which will help you discover more about your lifediretion. Please listen to your intuition as Mars in Cancer gives you the tools you will need to protect yourself from situations that you find uncomfortable. Energy and decisiveness are enhanced, but at the same time you may be hindered by moodiness, vulnerability and fears. The best way to avoid problems is to be sensitive to the needs and feelings of people around you. You may have trouble sleeping at mid-month as you become disillustioned by someone else’s actions. This is a time to be good to your body. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage or herbal bath. Eventually you will have the urge to get things done and move forward. Lunar Eclipse in Virgo February 20, 2008

Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. The three dimensional reality of our universe comes alive in a graceful celestial ballet as the Moon swings through the Earth's shadow and this is a Lunar Eclipse.

This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun. Or, when there is a Full Moon. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere.

There are three types of lunar eclipses: penumbral, when the Moon crosses only the Earth's penumbra; partial, when the Moon crosses partially into the Earth's urbra; and total, when the Moon crosses entirely within the Earth's umbra. Total Lunar Eclipses pass through all three phases. Unlike Solar Eclipses, Lunar Eclipses are completely safe to watch. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A Lunar Eclipse can be observed with nothing more than the naked eye. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view, make the red coloration brighter and easier to see.

On February 21, 2008 a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Virgo. At exactly 3:27am the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Pisces 1º53’. The Earth will be at exactly the same degree in Pisces blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 1º53’ with the Sun and Moon.

Earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon. A Lunar Eclipse emphasizes this emotional reaction!! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by this eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. Creative and artistic qualities will be discovered. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us neurologically and mentally. There will be some stress initially as blockages in many parts of our lives will begin to crumble and then there will be a feeling of freedom.

This Full Moon is full of promise and opportunity. All Full Moons bring matters to fulfillment as the cosmic light shines brighter to show us things we need to see. Eclipses always mean crises. Now, crisis is not necessarily a bad thing. At the very least, a phase of our life ends and a new one begins. Whatever part of your life is not in sync with your true life’s purpose will show the most change. However, wherever an eclipse falls in your chart is an area of your life that is going to undergo some change or at least require more of your time and attention than usual for the next five months or so months or so. Solar Eclipses are far more important the Lunar Eclipses. The house where the Solar Eclipse falls in your chart will be the main focus of crisis for the next five months. The house where the Lunar Eclipse falls (usually the opposite house) will be a secondary area of crisis. But, remember, this is all good and part of your pattern of growth! ;-)

Happy Birthday Aquarius and Pisces Natives!!

There are several special events taking place in our sky this month. First, this is a Leap Year so February has 29 days!!

Venus, Jupiter and Pluto are in Capricorn so you can polish your image as you prepare the way to be more innovative than you have been in the past. Mercury adds its' communicative energies to your preparatory endeavors as it continues its' retrograde movement until the 19th when it turns direct in Aquarius. Thus, use the first three weeks of the month to research and review anything new and innovative. You may find you want to spend time alone or find your mind wandering as you review all aspects of your life: your friendships, your family, your career, your communication style, your goals!! This is a process that makes you more aware of how you present yourself to others. This is a time of renewal, hard work and activity. Keep in mind that you will NOT be bored this month as your own mind will be busy enough to keep you entertained and far from bored!!

This month's New Moon noccutrs o the 6th at 10:44pm and is a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius at 17 degrees 44 minutes. The Solar Eclipse pinpoints an area of your life that needs attention. It may foretell a special event (I got married close to an Eclipse in September 2005!), a beginning or an ending.

The Full Moon is on the 20th and is a Lunar Eclipse at 1 degree of Virgo. This Lunar Eclipse is very powerful as it brings forth emotional issues that have yet to be resolved. It will expose weaknesses, vulnerability and illness. Confusion, chaos and uncertainty will be prevalent as we are all forced to take stock of our current situation and eliminate what is not good for us. The uncovering of what was hidden from view, previously avoided or overworked may lead to an enlightening reality check. What is lost must be forgotten.

The void that we create will make way for the new!!! :-) Like all eclipses, these eclipses act as accelerators. Expect all experiences you have this month to be highly charged. Be prepared for everything you do to move in fast-forward motion. Keep in mind though that ventures begun now may not yield returns as fast as you want, but opportunities and final results will come for opeople who use this time to prepare and are resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient and let things develop slowly, because who lives on will be made better - much better - as your awareness is heightened and you make the most of every opening you can find. A Solar Eclipse is when the Moon is exactly between the Sun and the Earth and blocks the light of the Sun from the Earth. Solar Eclipses are very powerful New Moons and are known to herald significant endings and beginnings. The ancient rule is that the effects of a Solar Eclipse last as long in years as the eclipse lasts in hours. Events that are triggered by an eclipse usually take six months to unfold, so you can expect this process of change to continue as you begin to feel like a flower opening its’ petals Special opportunities to break old patterns become apparent as you begin to make major changes in your life. Metamorphosis is the word associated with eclipse.

The Solar Eclipse on February 7, 2008 occurs at 3:56 am at 17°56 degrees of Aquarius. All Aquarius Sun Sign people will be most affected by this Solar Eclipse as will those with Aquarius rising. If you are a Leo or have Leo rising you will feel this eclipse more strongly than most because in our sky the constellation of Leo is opposite the constellation of Aquarius and is in direct alignment with this eclipse. Overall, you will find yourself redoing your life from your toes to the top of your head and your appearance will be changed radically to reflect the massive changes going on within you!! Ultimately the changes in how you see yourself will affect how you are perceived by others thereby affecting all of your personal AND business relationships!! This is all good!! :-)

Depending on the part of your chart that is activated we can determine exactly what part of your life will be most affected. If you are an Aquarius almost every part of your life will be affected, but all of us will feel a shift of some sort coming on. If the eclipse falls in your first/seventh houses, you are working on yourself, on your marriage or your relationship. JANUARY 2008 OUTLOOK

Happy Birthday CAPRICORN and AQUARIUS Natives!! :-)

Welcome to a whole new era!! On January 25, 2008, Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, moves into Capricorn for a sixteen-year visit. As Pluto travels through its eccentric orbit, major changes can be expected to take place in society and the individual, for better or worse. Pluto energy is one that cuts ties with the past and urges us to move on to new endeavors. We begin to eliminate things and people that are no longer useful or slowing our growth. A Pluto transit often destroys a relationship, belief or some set of circumstances in order to allow something better to take its place. Mars is still going retrograde until January 30th as it moves through the constellations of Cancer and then back into Gemini. When Mars turns direct on January 30th you will then better prepared to move forward with a clearer head and answers to some of your most pressing concerns.

Mercury begins to go retrograde on January 28th as it travels through Aquarius. You begin this three week period expressing your feelings to a friend or a partner and receiving positive support and feedback. You cook up lively ways to enjoy companionship by inviting those who are close to you to spend some cold winter nights by the fire, make some warm comfort food, have a pajama party and talk, talk, talk!!!
